Hmm, sounds like it might be an issue with the graphics card drivers. My guess is the video is being rendered and output to overlay and the video card is ignoring it, that would explain why disabling hardware acceleration then displays the video. The latest drivers (169.21) should work for your card (6200A), if they do not then there is probably something wrong with your video card. What type of video formats are you trying to playback? You can also use Media Player Classic and GraphEdit to do some troubleshooting.

Stuff like this freaks me out because it leads to regulating peoples emotions and internal states; it reminds me of the movie Equilibrium. I could only excuse it in extreme situations, like accessing top secret information or launching the nukes. [edit] moved to technology news since we don't actually have a product yet and its just news.

Gears of War won't load, I need a missing system file
DigeratiPrime replied to ninjax6792's topic in Gamers Hangout
You could say the same thing about the other Epic game that just came out, UT3. Alot of people have been complaining certain things, particularly the console menus and the gamespy problem, Epic just deletes the posts and topics which are negative. I refuse to buy the game until i see some improvements, they seem to be abandoning pc gamers. -

i dont think the lite version of the framework works anymore. Can you please try the full .net fw 2 or use the repack from ryanvm here: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (16MB) http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/ -

those are runtime errors, did you install .NET Framework 2? -
Use Process Explorer, use Find (Ctrl+F) type in the name of the nasty file, that will bring up a list of dlls and/or handles, the latter you can click on and it will jump to the handle in the main window lower pane and highlight it, you can then right click on it and close the handle. Malware and Viruses usually open many handles in multiple, including system, processes. For that you can double click on a process, go the the Threads tab, and kill those threads. Then try releasing the handle and it should work. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb896653.aspx http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/ProcessExplorer.zip

I just got that error myself. I am a little late to this one but with a little tracing with Process Monitor and an extracted admin install of the full msi I found these missing files responsible: PATH \Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\ libcurl.dll libeaynf32.dll ssleaynf32.dll xmlparse.dll xmltok.dll xmlrpc.dll

That really great news BradBo! Glad you got your stuff back I hope we can identify free and easy methods for the future but R-Studio IMO is just that much better right now.

Thanks for the answers guys. I dont use HFSLIP rather nLite but I forgot it will also break "reading chm files" by removing IE Core, even though it also has a separate Help Engine component.

Are you guys removing the Help Engine from windows or did I miss something? If so why: Size, Security, Other? Also how are the two (PDF) related?

[GUIDE] Creating WIM images of Windows XP for system deployment using
DigeratiPrime replied to IcemanND's topic in Windows PE
Excellent guide I suggest it be stickied! I followed it with no problems and was able to complete it and get a working PE environment on my first try! I noticed a couple little things though: In Build_All.cmd you should remove the space in the SET variable lines, otherwise the oscdimg cmd will fail. The cleanup or shrink option for imagex is not included in the Build_All.cmd file: Also I had trouble deploying from a network share and had to use "computername\username" or "ip\username" to connect. Not sure of the cause of this but I found some other topics and posts about this problem. I do have SP3 RC on the host machine. The # of and location of the driverpacks.net mass_storage drivers that cause bootup to hang has changed. Currently "3B, AD8, D" cause problems. -
I suggest you backup and then delete your Firefox profile so it will create a new one, but then it is possible the default profile has been "modified" as well. If you want to do that here is a link which details where your profile is saved and what the contents of it are: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox You can also try a completely clean package of Firefox Portable which will contain everything in the same folder group. http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable

Gears of War won't load, I need a missing system file
DigeratiPrime replied to ninjax6792's topic in Gamers Hangout
seems to be a common problem, found a topic at the eipc forums about it: http://forums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=582429 -
When scanning large discs in R-Studio I usually stop the scan occasionally and "Save Scan Information" and then scan again and it will resume from that point. I do this in case the program exits, which has happened a couple of times, and so i can disconnect the drive and perform the recovery later. Keep us informed

DVD Decrypter would let you select audio streams, demux them from the vob containers and extract them. http://www.doom9.org/dvddec.htm http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/DVD_D...er/1011845169/1

OK. So I need to recover my Firefox bookmarks & plugin names.
DigeratiPrime replied to weEvil's topic in Software Hangout
No can do. I'm using the tete optimised builds. I'm just going to make backups of everything before messing with the system. So just replace the App subfolder in the Portable folder, the nsis launcher wont care. -
Perpetual Motion Machine? Discussion. Plans + theory.
DigeratiPrime replied to weEvil's topic in General Discussion
Ah I remembered what I wanted to mention last time, for those interested check out the Casimir effect (particularly the reversal of) and vacuum energy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casimir_effect http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/08/06/1212259 Basically a way has been discovered to potentially steal the zero point energy from the vacuum of the space time continuum. -

In the future you might want to use Portable Firefox and keep the program folder on a not system partition http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable -
you need to use a recovery program that will ignore corrupt file systems and try to recover data on a sector by sector basis, I will look for a free program that can do this but I know R-Studio can.
-
I recommend R-Studio or Recuva, but whatever you use be sure not to format or write to the disc you wish to recover from. I really need to create and pin a topic with all the recovery software we know of, I'll make that a priority this week. KeePass is a free/open-source password manager or safe which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key-disk. So you only have to remember one single master password or insert the key-disk to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish). For more information, see the features page. "decoding" is done for playback, it sounds like you are trying to "encode" or "transcode" a mpeg2 into an mpeg4. Is that correct?
