  1. I dont understand the problem. You cannot erase files on a dvd unless you are using DVD+-RW or DVD-RAM, is this the case? What is the name of your 'new DVD write program'? When you say pointers do you mean a file or folder that was on the dvd, or a shortcut on your computer?
  2. http://www.squarefree.com/burningedge/ https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/fir...en-US.win32.zip Seems much faster than Firefox 2.0.0.4 To enable older extensions get 'Nightly Tester Tools' http://www.oxymoronical.com/web/firefox/nightly I am also using the Portable Launcher from here: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable
  3. I dont know of a program that can do that, i have an idea though. Basically convert the Firefox file history.dat into a txt file, import the list into a spreadsheet app like Excel and do the filtering in that. Easier said than done though. Currently Firefox 2.x uses the "mork" format to store its history, this will be converted to SQLite in Firefox 3.x which you can download alpha releases of. To convert the 'mork' history.dat into txt see this page, there is a bookmarklet (which did not work for me) and program called 'Dork' in the comments that DID work for me. http://philwilson.org/blog/2005/01/how-to-...ry-to-text.html You may want to try the Firefox 3 alphas because it should theoretically be very easy to do it with this, you just need an sqlite parser. http://www.squarefree.com/burningedge/ For Internet Explorer here is an article, did not work for me though: http://mcpmag.com/columns/article.asp?EditorialsID=1595 hope this helps a little, if you find something better let me know.
  4. Here are two, the first is freeware the second is $600 http://www.debugmode.com/wink/ http://www.adobe.com/products/captivate/
  5. Here's some stuff: http://mapraider.com/ http://www.third-helix.com/downloads.html#ut99
  6. SMPlayer is a new multimedia player. It uses the award-winning MPlayer as engine, so it's able to play the most known video & audio formats without the need of external codecs: avi, mkv, ogm, mpeg, vob, 3gp, asf, mov, wmv, mp3, ogg... You can also play DVD discs and Internet streams. Special care have been taken with subtitles. It supports srt, sub, ssa, embedded subtitles in Matroska files, DVD subtitles... SMPlayer subtitles can be very nice, you can choose font and size, and even colors for the subtitles. One of the most interesting features of SMPlayer: it remembers the settings of all files you play. So you start to watch a movie but you have to leave... don't worry, when you open that movie again it will resume at the same point you left it, and with the same settings: audio track, subtitles, volume... Other additional interesting features: * Audio track switching. You can choose the audio track you want to listen. Works with avi and mkv. And of course with DVDs. * Seeking by mouse wheel. You can use your mouse wheel to go forward or backward in the video. * Video equalizer, allows you to adjust the brightness, contrast, hue, saturation and gamma of the video image. * Multiple speed playback. You can play at 2X, 4X... and even in slow motion. * Filters. Several filters are available: deinterlace, postprocessing, denoise... and even a karaoke filter (voice removal). * Audio and subtitles delay adjustment. Allows you to sync audio and subtitles. * Advanced options, such as selecting a demuxer or video & audio codecs. * Playlist. Allows you to enqueue several files to be played one after each other. Autorepeat and shuffle supported too. * Preferences dialog. You can easily configure every option of SMPlayer by using a nice preferences dialog. * Translations: currently SMPlayer is translated into more than 20 languages, including Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese.... * It's multiplatform. Binaries available for Windows and Linux. * Free. Totally free. No shareware, no adware, no spyware... Free and opensource. The source code of SMPlayer is available. You can download it, compile it, modify it... SMPlayer is under the GPL license. An this is just the beginning. In the future SMPlayer will have features hardly available in other players. But be patience. Development of SMPlayer started just a very few months ago. SMPlayer is alpha software. There are still some basic features missing, like a bookmark or support for audio CDs. It also can contain bugs. But I hope is stable enough for daily use. Already implemented features should work. But if you find a bug report it! http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/windows/index_en.php I tested it and its not bad, but I still prefer mpui and rulesplayer for their simplicity. screenshot:
  7. can you better describe what this is? perhaps a screenshot would help.
  8. ObjectDock Plus can do that. http://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/information.asp For ObjectDock Free try this: http://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?ski...16&libid=29 RKLauncher I think can show tray icons on the dock or has a docklet that can. http://home.cogeco.ca/~rklauncher/ Have a look around here too: http://www.dockex.com/
  9. no have no idea how to unpack that, it seems to be a home made installer from the program author. since I've never seen it used for anything else I would not worry about it.

  11. The Gigabyte HD 2600 XT uses GDDR3 http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/VGA/Pr...?ProductID=2586 Thinking of getting that when its out and comparing it with the Gigabyte 8600 GT I have http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/VGA/Pr...?ProductID=2515

  13. in_sap22.exe is Nullsoft Install System v1.96. On the sourceforge page v1.98 (2002) and older is shown as "Legacy NSIS" http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=22049 unless you were talking about the HE PSF plugin which is a "ESP Installer".
  14. I cant seem to keep Vista on my pc for more than 1 hour before I format and put XP back on. I try it regularly when there is new drivers and hotfixes, probably "upgrade" by the time SP1 comes out.
  15. ^ maybe when the screensaver is on or the monitor is off, or its some fraction of what the total the chipset uses since its multipurpose. Also "they are too busy to take pictures of the card" is bs, something is not right. As for the HD playback they used the nvidia drivers without PureVideo HD support.
  16. I don't see it for sale anywhere yet.
  17. basically it's a well organized list of shortcuts. The big problem I see is the lists are sorted by word length and not alphabetically. maybe an option on how to sort or maybe edit the lists would be good.
  18. For Oblivion you can try Oldblivion http://www.oldblivion.com/
  19. awesome stuff nuhi keep it comin'!
  20. I think this should be renamed to "the nitro322 topic!" I am really looking forward to the added support and bug fixes, keep up the good work!
  21. Microsoft is getting desperate trying to force require Vista like this. It antagonizes me; at least these games were poor anyway.
  22. ^ Well I've actually owned this Antec Super Lanboy for about 2.5 years, I am just upgrading/replacing what's inside. Someone broke the front USB ports on mine, but I just emailed Antec and they shipped my new ones at no cost. Not difficult to replace. My front panel audio connects to an onboard header, it has 7 pins. Anyways back on topic. Yeah the Ninja looks the best so far for what I want: quiet cooling. The Scythe Mine is better in terms of cooling, but requires a higher RPM fan. The Thermalright Ultra 120 is marginally better and is ridiculously priced. I am going to try the stock hsf and then buy the Ninja, unless something changes my mind, shortly.
  23. Looking for opinions/advice for a CPU Cooler for an AMD 3600 Brisbane, board is Biostar TF7050-M2, case is Antec Super Lanboy. Also I prefer lower noise over cooler temperatures. Currently considering the Scythe Ninja because it sounds like I might be able to go passive and just have the lone 120mm fan in the Seasonic PSU immediately above it.
  24. ^ Ultra prodcuts are poor quality imo, and TD has high shipping charges. All their stuff you linked to seems over priced too.
  25. it all depends on what is meant by "high performance", do you mean for video rendering, gaming, other? If I had a $1000 pc budget I would probably spend half that now and the other half next year and buy a new machine. Rather than spend it all now and have it depreciate faster. Regardless I reccomend these two things: PSU Seasonic, high efficiency and active power factor correction. I've seen it for less elsewhere. SeaSonic S12-330 ATX12V 330W Power Supply - Retail MEMORY I have this stuff, its good. Overclocks well. $70 AR. Crucial Ballistix 2GB DDR2-800
