I had to revert kexbasen to original dll as I can't use Gimp properly anymore with the updated one. Open xul.dll with latest Import Patcher (.40). Select the 1st, 2nd and 4th checkboxes and click on the Analyze button. When analysis has completed, scroll to the bottom of the right pane and you'll find the missing functions you need to add to your kxstub822.ini not taking those below into account: [KERNEL32.dll] VerifyVersionInfoA= VerSetConditionMask= VerifyVersionInfoW= [sHELL32.dll] SHParseDisplayName= Also ignore the [DLL replacements] section.

Of course it doesn't, the likeliness you and I have the same missing functions in kstub822.ini is low. You've got to figure out what functions you still have missing and then add them. Also you'll need to set the files in XPSP2 compatibility mode.

Check dependencies of xul.dll and add the missing functions not already covered by KernelEx to your kstub822.ini. You need cool.dll to stretch wallpaper if I am not mistaken.

After figuring out with latest import patcher that I also needed to add a bunch of ntdll functions to kstub822.ini I could run SeaMonkey 2.32 too. it's not usable here however unfortunately as in addition to having no working bookmarks, there is no working search engines and launching urls by pasting them in the the address bar doesn't work. Only way I could find to open web pages other than following hyperlinks is by dragging urls on the exe in explorer. Crashes on many pages too. I could also run Firefox 35 but it systematically froze on displaying any page.

No fix for the shutdown problem AFAIK and the most powerful card is probably the 7950 GT (requiring rloew's RAM patch if 512MB version).

If you want a more up to date XMing, you can use VcXsrv instead. Latest version (1.16.2.0 as of this writing) appears to run OK, tested with Fontforge which is fully functional running under it instead of the bundled v1.14.2.1). KxStub might be required though, not sure about that.

Macromedia Studio MX 2004 is surely advertised this way and surely doesn't run on ME. Whether it actually runs on 98 I don't know.

Latest JRE's appear to use a WIX installer and I found no way to install/unpack them. Latest JDKs can still be unpacked however, and possibly installed too (I have not tried that), and you can use the included JRE (not the bundled JRE installer which is WIX based too).

Installed those and it seems allright so far. Success story: it's now possible to run Java 7 and Java 8 without having to resort to my hacks, great job!

Have you tried uninstalling your current version and then installing the whole 4.5.3.1 package? Do you have any entries in KstubXXX.ini that may clash with KernelEx's own functions? Try disabling Kstub temporarily. The original kexbasen.dll works fine with Kstub and I don't think installing your whole package would make a difference with this crash issue but I'll try eventually if you insist heavily. For now I use Jumper's new dlls except for kexbasen. GCC fix and Shell32 ordinal 727 are very cool to have directly in kernelex, the latter being now mandatory to run latest PotPlayer whose core dll can't be hexed anymore to another ordinal because of a new feature checking if it has been alterated.

Install the font Code2000 or Everson Mono or Quivira or Sun-ExtA or Symbola or any other unicode font that includes the characters used by this table and you should see all characters.

I tried the kexbasen.dll compiled by drugwash and it crashes too for me.

The problem appears to be with kexbasen.dll, if I only replace this one it crashes, if i only replace the other two it doesn't crash.
