    XPize 3.2

It creates a system restore point, and it notifies it in a message box. Then you have to click OK to continue installation. I'm sure I can get around that, thanks. It's easy: I can remove the system restore point creation out from the installer, but I will not. I want normal XPize to be safe for all people. Advanced user should think in using uAE.
  2. Hmmm.. strange. Let XPize place your patched file on the a folder on the desktop (default option) and then replace your I386 files with patched one manually. Have you chosen the output dir the same as the source dir? Anyway, it should work like that also. nLite will do that in a future. EDIT:Do'h!

  4. The only thing you can edit in the classic style is in shellstyle.dll (system32). It has the resources of the left task panel in windows.
  5. @iCEhOT: You need this for complete XPizing Can you refer me to the file that holds the icon the inthe folders called "Jodeys PDA my documents" and "Pocket PC my DOcuments"? Is it a windows file, or you installed a third party app/driver? 1200.ico

@Chezy666: No, no chance. Martijn: No.
  7. I think he's not asking for that. He wants to do a thing I think is almost or fully impossible. Look at the screenshot.

    XPize 3.2

Now uAE and normal XPize are the same in files and resources, except in the Royale shutdown dialog (not present in uAE) From now, there will be no more releases (except if a critical bug is found). Now concentrating on 4.0 and uAE 2.0. XPero

    XPize 3.2

XPize is a resources transformation pack for Windows. It replaces most of the non-XP icons, avis and bmps that Microsoft has always overlooked. The installer simply automates the process of replacing resources in critical system files, making your XP's look better. XPize is compatible with Windows XP, 2003 and MCE Editions. XPize also comes with an Updater, which you can use after visiting Windows Update Version 3 ships with an optional Royale oriented look. What's new in 3.2: Files: - Added msident.dll - Added stobject.dll - Added tapiui.dll - Added msiexec.exe - Added irclass.dll - Added clipsrv.exe Resources: - Fixed the Royale shutdown dialog - Modified icon 10 in setupapi.dll - Modified icon 20 in setupapi.dll - Added icon 25 in setupapi.dll - Added bitmap 147 in shell32.dll - Added bitmap 149 in shell32.dll - Added bitmap 4412 in netplwiz.dll - Added bitmap 4413 in netplwiz.dll - Removed icon 159 in setupapi.dll Extras: - Removed CMD mod (caused incompatibilities with VS .NET) Download Download (thanks to flyakite) Enjoy! 13. Thanks for the news. It is a must-have for me

They're nice, but they have been already used for other shell packs. Also, I won't include any VS, except Luna and Royale (and mods of them).
  16. A little bit of confusion here XPize 3.0 HAS I386 Patching feature, while 3.1 HAS NOT. Now, only uAE can be used for that. Hope all is clear now

    Xpize 4 Suggestions

Bad news about the IE about logo. I've tried and tried to replace it but it just doesnt get replaced. Even in doing it in Reshacker manually, it just looks the same as the original So, that good graphics klasa did, cannot be used. Anyway IE7 is almost here, so just wait a little...and also, what's interesting in looking at IE about window? @All of you: Thanks for suggestions. XPero
  18. Glowy: I tried what you told me about the "command" and it worked for me with uAE 1.2 installed. I opened a DOS window and typed "command", nothing worng happened Can you tell me what exactly happens to your computer? XPero
  19. That's the problem of using the I836 feature and integrating hotfixes. The proper way would be integrating the hotfixes before (dunno exactly if this can be done) or using Ryan's Update Pack (with nLite). XPero
  20. There is no Royale shutdown dialog in uAE, so using the I386 Patching option will not solve the "problem". XPero
  21. Thank you very much for your words and for considering a donate. I'm also a poor student , but I'm considering the opening of a PayPal account. All donations will be well appreciated. Now let's start with your requests/wishes: The services icons you say cannot be change, or at least, I couldn't figure out a proper way to do it. Almost all icons inside Admin Tools are "old stuff" by Microsoft, so it is hard to coonvert all that to XP clean style. Most of the icons get an ugly black border when trying to xpize them. So I just put emphasis in the shortcuts you can see in the control panel instead of the inside of every admon tool. The regedit icons are famous Almost everybody complaint about them. There were some releases in which they were replaced, but only 8 bit support is available for them, so they looked almost uglier than originals. About the disk cleanup, I will check that. I didn't realized about those icons because I always removed this tool with nLite and use CCleaner. It would be great if you can tell me what file holds those icons you say. The battery icons are also difficult to change. I tried in uAE 1.1 (I think) and happens the same that with regedit. Only 8 bit support. (No way for creativity and good looking things). The disk pie cannot be changed in any way. If I try to change its color, then this file would not be "universal", that is, replacing dialogs can be problematic for other languages systems, and probably this dialog will look odd in non-English systems. (I use English WIndows XP as reference when developing XPize) About your last requests, that traffic light is a good idea. I never use this feature, not even have it in my system now, but I will try to replace it. Phone and modems icons are also problematic, the usually require 8 bit icons (yes, again ) so I cannot do too much for them. Finally, I'm not very convinced about your idea of placing a "photograph" of a mouse (this will be too Macish), instead of the XP mouse icon. Thanks for your ideas and comments. XPero

    XPize 3.1

There have been problems with the website server and the site is not updated. Go to the first post and you will see the DeviantART download. The shutdown screen is only available in XPize 3 (3.0 or 3.1), not in uAE. XPero

    XPize uAE 1.2

@MAVERICKS CHOICE: Installing the two packs is NOT recommended. You will probably mess up your Computer. If you like 3.1 the most, just install it normally (it is just a few clicks and a restart) or install it unattendedly, but you will get some pop up messages. uAE can be also installed normally, but you won't have the extras. Just "Choose your destiny" (Mortal Kombat joke ) XPero
  24. I think you won't have any problem
  25. ok, so for next release batt.dll should be removed for the I386 patching option. @Glowy: I will check that 16-bit error. XPero
