  1. This problem has been disscused on this forum before. If you strip Outlook Express from your XP CD you'll encounter problems using Outlook. Though we're not magicians to guess from your infos that you stripped Outlook Express and that might be the problem. Cheers
  2. All that I wrote you before was tested 5 minutes ago and worked !!!
  3. I don't think so. M$ will probably throw away some patches and that's all. Releasing another SP2 Final would be unacceptable for them. They are already put on the wall by IT specialists. I predicted that this will happen. Read an old post of mine Boards are full of SP2 generated errors, software incompatibilities, problems caused by SP2. That's Microsoft and their lovely Windows.
  4. I think you are on the wrong board. This question fits better on the "Unattended" Board
  5. A Windows XP pre SP2 is a windows installation or WinCD that DOESNOT have installed or has included Sp2.
  6. Hi there I encountered the same issue after installing my slipstreamed XPSP2. After you install Windows XP the link MediaPlayer on your right click the taskbar DOESNOT EXIST. So run WMP. Being the first time you run it it will tell you to check some settings, file associations, etc. Customize it at your wish. Then minimize the WMP. Being the first time you minimize it, it will ask if you want to ENABLE the MediaPlayer Bar. Click YES. Finally that bar will appear on your right click on taskbar. That's all ... PS: I don't know how can this be done unattended or turned on by default.
  7. A FAR cheaper alternative to Marsden idea would be to get the free Tweak UI Power Toy from M$. Click here to download Install it. Start the application and go to MyComputer section. Then Special Folders. There you can change the default location of multiple folders XP uses, including SHARED Documents Folder.
  8. I think even M$ lost count of the KB articles related to SP2
  9. Check if your PID is on M$ SP2 blacklist: SP2 blacklist If it is go to the shop where you bought your WinXP and tell them
  10. Maybe your settings are wrong in both your original installation and Vmware. I have WinXP Sp1 and Office 2003 Pro installed on my computer. Outlook works perfect. I upgraded my computer to Sp2 and Outlook still works perfect. So I can't figure your problem ... But, first turn off Windows Firewall, double check your Outlook settings and see if it still doesn't work.
  11. What do you mean exaclty ???
  12. Maybe it's on his way ... Wait a few weeks, months...
  13. ergh .... It seems that there is a FULL install for Adobe Reader 6.0.2 English version Sorry SiMoNsAyS
  14. I think SiMoNsAyS don't get it.
  15. You can use: DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore This will force Setup to install drivers that may not be WHQL certified. This is used in conjunction with OemPnPDriversPath. in your answer file winnt.sif
  16. That's what I'm trying to say .....
  17. Follow this link for more details: Issues addressed by the Acrobat 6.0.2 update and Adobe Reader 6.0.2 update It does contain some security issues, but on Adobe website it doesn't say that it's a critical update.
  18. THERE IS NO INSTALLER FOR Adobe Reader 6.0.2. !!!! Quote from Adobe's website So there is only Adobe Reader 6.0.1 installer and the update to 6.0.2
  19. I think you put your question on the wrong board. There is a Developer's Board on MSFN. I think you should post that question in there ...
  20. Free VM ???? Hmm.. I doubt. VM machines are very complex programs that interact with the hardware at the lowest machine level. So it's **** hard to create such a prog for free. So I don't think there is a free VM around ...
  21. There is no Acrobat 6.02 installer. And this is quite normal. Adobe and any other software company doesn't make a new installer for every single minor update. So you patch your current installer or just wait for the next major release.
  22. There are special programs that complete this tasks. They are particularly made for this purpose, to be used in gaming or internet cafe. I can't give an exact anme as I never used such a prog but a search on Google should give u a start point.
  23. All I could find on the net is that the soyware you got infected with uses an exploit in MS Java VM. The strange thing is that the exploit is over an year old and have been patched by M$. The patch should have been included in the SP2. Just as a precaution visit WinUpdate to check if there are no updates for your PC.
  24. You don't have to really use IE to get that spyware on your PC. Maybe you installed a program that included that spyware. Use Ad-aware & Spybot to clean your PC and see if it comes up again. EDIT: there is no connection between the spyware and SP2 as you state in the topic title.
  25. Since SP2 includes all the SP1 updates and you have the original CD there is no need to first slipstream SP1 and then SP2. Go stright with Sp2. There is a plus of around 50 MB if u slipstream Sp2 in a Win SP1 rather slipstream in the original XP.
