  2. It's a known fact that when installing SP2, it changes the boot screen on both HOME and PRO versions. So if u have a bootscreen installed u might have to reinstall it. As about compatibility it musn't be any problem.
  3. I'm glad that everything cleared up. Anyway, any of you official beta-testers managed to find out WHY that RTM string is present ? As far as I know none of the M$ products (well except SP2) contain that string in the version.
  4. Nothing here too Though I never heard of trial SP ????!!!!!!?????
  5. I think this thread resolved bkraptor problem and should be closed, cause it tends to become a batle field What I said to bkraptor was exactly what you all said before, but was written in Romanian (bkraptor and my language), in a calm voice and a detailed manner. It's true that some of you have been quite rude and I don't think this is the purpose of this forum. I'm just a junior on this forum, but until now I like it very much. Lots of people ready to help you in any problem. So don't spoil my excelent oppinion I have about this forum.
  6. I would be grateful viceversa
  7. As I said in the topic name, what I want it's not quite unattended .... But most of the applications, I want to be installed unattended, but there are a few (let's say 4-5: Nero, Firewall, DownloadManager etc) that I want ot choose myself. There's no point to install applications u really don't need. And as I said I want to make my unattended CD as general as possible (for comp with/without CD/DVDRW, with/without internet connection)
  8. @evilvoice: Your solution isn't quite convinient. I would like to have control over evry program that I install. Your sollution with different "packeges" of software it's not satisfying me completely. @visaversa: I'll try the program you told me about to see if it's really what I want.
  9. Could you be more specific plz ???
  10. Is there any possibility to create "unattended" CD that fits to the next scenario ? I want to create an unattended XPSP2 cd with lots of applications&drivers. I also want to use this CD to make installations on different machines, not just mine. So some applications should be installed unattended such as Acrobat Reader, antivirus, etc (I found explanations on how to do this at http://unattended.msfn.org/) But here comes the difference. Since I want to use this unattended CD on different machines, some of them might not have CDRw or DVDRW so in the "unattended" when it reaches to the Nero installation I want to stop and ask me if I want to install it or not, not to blindly install it when I don't need it. The same thing when I install on a computer without an Internet Connection. I want the unattended install to ask me if I want to install the firewall, the download manager, etc (software related to internet) To make myself clear on what I want here is an example as I would like to be Installing Flashget 1.4 [Y]es [N]o If I press Y to go on with the installation, else skip the installation. So anyone, any suggestions ? Thanx
  11. Salutare bkraptor. Lumea nu vrea sa fie nepoliticoasa cum ai spus tu. Au incercat sa iti explice ca varianta oficiala este fis WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe care are datele de identificare: Filename: WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe Filesize: 266 MB (278,927,592 bytes) Build: 2180 (RTM) from WindowsBeta md5sum: 59a98f181fe383907e520a391d75b5a7 Name of Signer : Microsoft Corporation Digital Signature: Wednesday, 04 August, 2004 11:06:58 (ora depinde de locatie-pt Romania fis are ora 1:06:58) CRC: 0x046F12B1 Celalalt fis nu stiu de unde l-ai luat insa s-ar putea sa fie unul din multele falsuri care circula pe net. Cat despre stringul acela RTM asa a vrut M$ sa apara in ferestrele de About.
  12. I haven't tested neither of the solutions provided in this thread, but I have one question about disabling the firewall. How can you not just turn off Firewall & Virus Protection Unattended, but set this to NOT MONITORED in Security Center (of course unattended) ???
  13. It's pretty simple. Follow this quick & easy steps: 1) Download this program CRC&MD5 Verifier. Unzip.Run the CRCCheck.exe. 2)Point to the SP2 file you have. Choose what do you want to calculate CRC or MD5. The program will calculate what you want and display. 3)In the third field enter either CRC or MD5 of the original file. md5sum: 59a98f181fe383907e520a391d75b5a7 CRC: 0x046F12B1 (or just 046F12B1) 4)If they are identical you defenitely have the right file. Enjoy it cuz it haven't been officialy released to the public.
  14. Do you mean that this are the ONLY changes that can be controlled during unattended setup of SP2 ???
  15. When can we expect to find on MSFN a complete and revised SP2 Slipstream and Unattended Guide for the new SP ???
  16. Beside the signature is to big that picture of Britney scares me to death . So if you don't mind change you signature
  17. Sorry but as far as I know Turkish version of SP2 will be among the last to be released. So you'll have to wait at least till the end of the month.
  18. @ Adiel, OMERZEN & DaLurker: If you would just follow the link provided you would find the answer t oyour question.
  19. It seems that the torrent it's not working anymore. What happend no more seeds ???
  20. I don't know why M$ keeps delaying this release again & again. They claimed that the last minute delay was caused by a compatibility issue discovered. They try to make SP2 PERFECT. No M$ will EVER be perfect. I'm 100% sure that a few days after release will apear a lot compatibility issues and the MS SP2 Known Issues will grow constantly. The forums will be flooded with hundreds of masseges with problems concerning SP. Already MS has a patch FOR IT'S OWN PRODUCT. More to come in the days after release. So I don't understand MS stuburn in making world perfect when we all know they will never achieve this.
  21. What about this post ??? ??? TRUE OR HOAX ???
  22. So....... it was released or not ??????
  23. I personally use NAV 2004 although it consumes A LOT of resources. But I heard Kaspersky it's a good AV: - small, few resources occupied - good detection - small updates - easy to use
  24. As far as I'm concerned I really LOVE Opera. I use it since 7.0 version and I simply like it. And it seems that the development team won't stop. Each version they add more useful stuffs. But as it was before this thread you can't update your Win using WU site without IE
