  1. On this page you can find the powertoys available now from M$. I can't find the tools your talking about. But there are a lot of free tools that can conevert MP3 2 WMA.
  2. @enuffsaid: Hope you didn't mind ... Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
  3. Maybe MSFN and N,E,O,W,I,N don't like each other, but M$ seems to like N,E,O,W,I,N a lot since it has a link with logo on his webpage. MSFN it's only listed at "Other communities" IMG
  4. Don't ever trust enuffsaid releases Or at least wait until he passes the beta phase for his releases.
  5. @enuffsaid: How do you know that in the new tcpip.sys you must edit at the same offset and the same bites like in the 2180 build ????
  6. It think v4 it is not available anymore for WinXP systems. You'll be automaticly redirected to v5. This issue has already been discussed here. Please search a bit before posting ....
  7. I think I'll wait until 2007 when Longhorn will be released. I'm sure that it will contain this hotfix.
  8. @Jotnar: why don't you add the info I provided to your file and reupload it ? @Moderators: As DisabledTrucker said it would be nice if this thread would be sticky or at least put that list on MSFN site to be available for everyone.
  9. Always Coca-Cola
  10. I would be very grateful if you could just tell me the name
  11. Errrr....and how can I find what type of install it is. I mean with what product it was packed ??? Defenitly is not a SFX nor a MSI. It's an exe installer. That's all I can say about that file.
  12. If you want to take advantage of WUv5 without installing SP2 follow these steps. 1. Point your IE to windowsupdate.com 2. Wait until the connection is established with the server and you are redirected to: http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/........ 3. Just change that 4 with 5. You'll be redirected to WUv5. I order to use it you'll have to install an update blah blah (just a few kb) 4. That's it from now on whenever you go to WU you'll be redirected to the new v5
  13. When I install a certain program I get the following error: "An I/O error occurred while installing a file. This is normally caused by a bad installation media or a corrupt installation file". The install hangs at a certain file. The only options for that error are Abort or Retry. Is there a posibility to "EDIT" the installer and make it skip that file ??? I know 100% that the program works perfect without that file too.
  14. Yep ... As Drewdatrip says try to get the full administrative install. Anyway if you plan to reinstall Win you won't have to go to AU again.
  15. As a simple and fast work around to avoid the close of ALL IE windows when crashing, add this registry key in order to launch every IE window in separate process. This will avoid lossing data when one IE instance crashes. Inside this root: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer create a string key named BrowseNewProcess and set its value to yes
  16. I searched in my CD collection and I finally found Win 2000 w/Sp2 CD. The file dates are: 5/8/01 3:00PM (15:00:00) 51873OEM I don't know what last column represents in your list. I think with this infos your list is now complete. PS:Quite an impresive list. Thanks for sharing it. EDIT: I added that PID from the setupp.ini. The CD I have is Win2000 Pro. So that PID is for this product.
  17. Quote form Shareaza User Guide As far as they say Shareaza will connect at Overnet network. But I've done the following test. I searched for the same file in both eDonkey2000 client and Shareaza. eDoneky returned 10+ sources for that file, but Shareaza returned NONE (of course Shareaza showed that was connected at eDonkey network). Further, I tried to copy the link to that file from eDonkey client and add to Shreaza download list. Still Shareaza says it has NO SOURCES to download from. Conclusion is does Shareaza connects to the Overnet network or it only connects to the server-based eDonkey network (as far as I know eDonkey != Overnet regarding the network topology). And a last notice: All sources that I want to download are from eDonkey network. I haven't seen any G1 or G2 sources for my files.
  18. You have the same RunOnce for HKCU too. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
  19. This has already been posted two times !!! Do a little search on the board .... Topic: Programs that can behave differently in Windows XP Topic: Programs that may behave differently with XP SP2
  20. This has already been discused a long time ago. Click here. For more information about SP2 changes visit M$ webpage
  21. Ok so we're getting somewhere I have to do some tests on my curently installation in VMware. But next time when I'll reinstall XP I'll take some snapshots of the registry to see if I can find the registry key(s) related to this Media Bar.
  22. Anybody ....??? No ideas ????
  23. @argon007: If you read this thread and a few others on this board you'll see that most of us agree that VMware is the best vm out there. So if you want a good virtual environment buy VMware.
  24. I have the same problem here. I have over 250 sources for one file in Shareaza or at least that's what it's reporting. Though I doesn't receive any single bit !!! All sources are from edonkey network. Even if Shareaza reports over 250 sources for one file practically it's connected to only 10-15 and in all i'm quoed. I don't think there is something we can do. Just wait to go up in the que and find free slots to get that files.
  25. @GreenMachine: Thanks for wishing me Happy Birthday Your the only person on this forum that wished me happy birthay. Thanks again. @enuffsaid: As I said before. I installed clean XP slipstreamed with SP2. No other additions made (unattended, reg tweaks), no progrs stripped out from the installer. So an old fashion slipstream. After installation and after I read your post I noticed that the MediaPlayer Bar on right click at taskbar DOES NOT EXIST. So Istarted WMP9 for the first time in that install. (no other programs where installed meanwhile). All the steps described before was exactly what I done until that bar appeared. I didn't took screenshots as I thought it's not relevant. So ... I created another user on the same Win install. This time I took screenshots. Fiest thing I noticed was that the Media Bar was there without starting the WMP9 for the first time on that new account. Below are the screenshots. First is the mini-setup and after WMP starts when you minimize it FIRST TIME the last form shows. PS: Sorry for so many screens, but you wanted.
