  1. can i add to the flames and say "search first" hah =P j/k %allusersprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\User Account Pictures\Default Pictures\ would be a more correct way, to locate that folder =P but most people don't change their documents and settings or anything else's name.
  2. This sounds like a Policy setting, are you connected to a domain (lots of computers and a main server computer) usually in a company. or is this a home computer?
  3. hah awesome link, never been there, then again i never looked =P just shows how vulnerable some sites are, especially the ones that say things like PHPNuke SuperUser Passwords and such.. Google... that hackers best friend lol! I looked through the site a bit, and saw the robots.txt file one.. mainly cause i was reading up on it and decided not to put it on my own server as thats just like listing your root directory to the people that know about it.
  4. agree, theres nothing wrong with it IF the computer is CLEAN.. if the computer has been infected with a virus/worm/spyware then the after getting clean the user does a restore of a previous date then it just undoes what we just fixed (my ex-gf did this after i cleaned her computer of the elite toolbar... meaning i spent another 4 hours or so fixin it.
  5. try changing the key dom.disable_window_open_feature.resizable key in about:config to false.. i'm still not sure what box you're talkin about though, the main Manage Bookmarks window or which? cause mine stayed the size i left it.
  6. don't worry lol, its fun for a couple minutes watching people in a computer lab or on a street, but gets boring since no ones waving to the came or doing anything to make them X-rated LOL!!!..... yea..... still kinda amuses me how many of these are unencrypted.
  7. @undead actually found it from: http://www.butterfat.net/goocam/ but i don't like that interface that much, keeps sending data like you have the window open even after you close the tooltip type window. i'm guessign the redraw is the connection to the server. every second its told to redraw the image and if you don't receive the image within that second it redraws the next image without finishing the first one. the thing in google is because of worms and such, same thign happens if you go past 10 pages of google looking for "phpbb" and "viewtopic.php"
  8. yes that should fix the problem, i checked the unattended guide and it said " NT$" which i'm wondering if it was just a typo (hard to get a typo in 3 spots...imho) or if someone purposley changed it.. i hit edit on it and they were corrected, but i'll check it again in a day or 2 and make sure they get corrected.
  9. people still use IE?! j/k hmm, guess IE wants to treat it more like a file then try to have the browser open it.
  10. hmm i've came across some that ask to download the video.cgi file. but i just cancel it and the picture keeps updating. dunno why its asking that though. gouki, that link doesn't cause my firefox to close, it lagged up for a good second or 2 but that was it.
  11. 1. you could try using start -> run -> mplayer2 and use that one, i'm not sure if you'll liek it though.. 2 and 3 have been answered. the reason why your cd that you made showed up as some other artist is because when you put in a CD it uses something called cddb which contacts an outside source to get the contents of the CD.. ie.. you put in a metallica CD and it will get metallica, and what album, track names, genre, etc.. hope this helps
  12. found this while i was bored today, these are, from what i've heard are WebCamera's that connect directly to your router and can be seen without a password. the refreshing of the screen gets kinda annoying, but after about 20 seconds or so it usually clears up. and sometimes a refresh is needed to get it started. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&saf...rls&btnG=Search heres an example link. http://146.176.65.10/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi
  13. ouch infected with a injector virus, i did a little look in google and found this. http://www.sophos.com/support/disinfection/jeefoa.html it supposbly will remove the injected data from the files, i'd backup any files you disinfect first just incase.
  14. hah i hate that stupid search assistant. *EDIT* for breaking the size of the forums. fixed now
  15. checked it, and the embed section says "/player.swf?video_id=QIXAYFw1N-U&l=218" thats why its not downloading. heres the direct link to the file http://www.youtube.com/player.swf?video_id=QIXAYFw1N-U&l=218 but.... that is telling the player.swf to play the video with the ID of "QIXAYFw1N-U" so this is where streaming video downloaders come to play which i believe will download this, but i have yet to confirm if they work with SWF files. i had a really good freeware one that i used to use, but haven't been able to find it since i don't know the name of it. i'll do some searching tomarrow, or if any MSFN members want to suggest one i'll be open ears as well as you may just have the one i'm lookin for
  16. it may be possible by editing your boot.ini file following this: http://sniptools.com/tipstricks/add-safe-m...ndows-boot-menu but modify the main one, or add another one and make it default with like 5 seconds timeout. thus when the computer reboots and no ones tehre, it will boot into safemode then have a batchfile delete the files you want, and change the boot.ini file back to normal.. after the nextboot it would then go back into normal mode if you did everything right.
  17. it may be possible to do this with a 3rd party boot loader such as cdshell. i could see a possible use, and thats if you make folders off your C:\ like C:\Downloads C:\Graphics C:\Backup etc.. then have it copy those folders into a backup harddrive with a similar structure, so when you do your format it will merge the contents of the folders onto the backup folder.
  18. @atomizer from post #9 i believe you may be correct, but we see 2 sides of a conflicting matter. My post says it's used for printing, yours says it's not, yet its said by the same guy. I'm no programmer that uses dllcalls and all that advanced stuff, so i can't say as a "fact" of what it does, or how it works.. or even what its purpose is. i've heard many stories about this Escape() function in GDI32.dll and not sure whats true about it anymore. can't even google for a simple answer cause the first 50 pages are nothing but talk about that exploit lol.
  19. Tools -> Page Info -> Media Tab -> scroll down and look in the type column for "embed" click on it and hit save as.
  20. whoa thats awesome, just goes to show what ya can do with photoshop with the correct skillz.
  21. i agree with Prathapml, i read that it has been in windows since version 3.1, its how the windows operating system knew that the printer job has been canceled, and hasn't been removed since. but now that someone found this "exploit" they've removed it.
  22. Synapse

    XP Secrets
