Hello to all forum members and admin, this may sound stupid but, couldn't the admin put a skin on the board so we could change the forum apearence to our personal taste? Something with diferent colors thats all im asking lol, Merry Christmas

to lilweirddude: That is pretty weird, my sugestion is reinstall XP and put the latest in drivers of your motherboard, dont use XP drivers for anything you cant find, then install 9.0c and try the game if it doesn't work it has to be some kind of hardware problem. About Half-Life2... the game is available at Steam's site??? Anyway the hole activation thing is beyond invasion of rights, imagine you buy a pizza with a lock on it, and to get a slice you would have to go to the company for them to open it. People use the argument that pretty much everyone nowadays has internet, but thats not a good argument in my opinion, its just like CD protections which dont allow you to listen to a CD in your computer.

My exprience with Internet Banking is, no bank will do stuff over the net with their clients, they hardly do it over the phone, Whenever I have a problem they contact me by letter.

No it can't be a problem with his CD-Rom drive, he even made a ISO image of the original to his computer and ran it with D-tools, and still got the same exact error, I had somethning smiliar with The Sims 2 on my dad's computer, it just stopped on the 27% for absolut no reason and it didnt install no matter what you would do, the problem was solved by reinstalling XP (I don't have the head to solve problems when they're not on my computer...). So... I have no idea what could be the problem of his computer, he decided not to worry about it and reinstalled XP with SP1, for him it's a solved problem. Just thought about asking you guys if you had the same problem.

A friend of mine complains about a problem he's been having with EA games, such as NFSU2 and NBA2005, and others more, he claims that the problem is caused by SP2, I'd like to if you've exprienced this issue with some games or with anything under XP SP2.

Ok... isn't Maxthon IE based??? That is so true, i usually have situations in which Firefox is consuming about 80MB of RAM, right now for example it is using 43MB, and sometimes it has a RAM usage of 232MB, which is just weird how that happens. Just like Bi0haZarD I installed Firefox on my dad's computer because of his inexprience with computers, and specially because he uses Internet Banking and that started to worry me when I saw the amount of spyware on that computer, he doesn't even know it is another program, I changed FF icon to the blue E from hell, and he uses it thinking it is Internet Explorer. I introduced FireFox to a friend of mine who had the exact same opinion that techguy21801 has, he installed it and on the day he was using he wouldn't let go of me telling me about all the "defects" of Firefox, such as not being available in every language of the world like IE (I thought who cares about the program language, it doesn't make the sites you surf on) he showed me a page that would test the time rendering of the pages and IE is indeed faster loading the pages I'll accept that argument, but choosing between having your computer completly "unprotected" to spyware or any other kind of malware, cookie tracking, security holes, etc. to a browser that may take a little longer than IE to load the pages because it encrypts them along with all the offline content that it is saved on your computer (I'm calling it an encryption i dont really know), a browser that for a few years will have the reputation of "free from spyware and pop-ups", untill someone starts making malware for Firefox, it will be a darn safe browser for our websurfing pleasure.

well, the effects of IT on society have two sides in my opinion, one of them is that it all became more accessable for everyone to have some know how about computers, i dont know much to say about the good things that happened but ill try, one of the greatest things that happened is the ability for students worldwide have at least (of course this doesnt happen in every school in the world) one computer with an internet access which allows a greater quantity of subjects and perspectives about those same subjects, i think i would be a hundred percent certain if i said that that is starting to become reality in every school of Europe, North America and Japan. so it has some good sides. One of the bad sides are those companies who take advantage from the good will of the people who are new to IT and with the certain amount of marketting can sell practly anything to consumers, exprienced or not, i know people who have some good computer knowledge and they consider that computers are only pentium, not even Intell, just pentium. The operating system is just Windows, and any other would be a hacker (popular definition) tool. I think ive said everything i could, in bad english though lol, well i cant help it portuguese is my native lingo.

I don't know if graphics and designing art is the place for this thread, anyway... im assuming youve placed the correct link in your HTML code, and that you're testing your webpage on the internet and not locally. The problem may be misplacement of the wallpaper, or a use of spaces in the name of your wallpaper file which, if that is the case, you should rename it. But im just guessing here you didnt explain enough for me to say anything lol. Keep in touch

SUCCESS!!! IT'S ALIVE!! I found windows 98 throbber in this file "browserui.dll" inside "C:\Windows\System\" extracted the three throbbers in there and replaced them over the five throbbers that had the same width it worked really well, thank you radhus and DigeratiPrime

Which Windows98 file has the animated flag? Shell32.dll doesn't have it!
