If they integrate UNIX kernel or any even open source code we would never know! Its not like windows source code is available for us to see whats in it, so why not add some UNIX kernel if the chances to improve this OS were greater no one would ever find out?

If we start talking about the EULA and the legality of these situations then we wouldn't do anything, not use patches for windows like uxtheme.dll or tcpip.sys, patches freely distributed in this forum, we'd also have to mention how is it that programs like nLite violate the EULA agreement by modifying windows.

how can i extract the windows xp bridge function from XP and integrate it into windows 2000? I shared a internet connection with to three ethernet cards with XP's bridge support, but 2000 only lets me bridge to one ethernet card, if its impossible to extract it from XP to integrate it on 2000 then please recomend me similar software that may solve my problem.

I don't know what the problem was, but its fixed, I reinstalled windows and instead of installing PHP+Apache+MySQL I went and got XAMPP which already brings everything ready and it worked that way. Thanks for the support anyway.

Unless this is a joke, you can go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion on your registry and change it there, if thats what you mean, if you want to change something else then i have no idea

This will probably be a stupid post, I don't know you guys tell me if I'm wrong but, having tried Windows XP Home and Pro and Windows 2000 Pro in both Portuguese and english (US) versions, plus Windows 95/98/ME in both my native language (portuguese) and the international english(US) versions, I noticed one common diference in all of them, no matter what windows OS you are running, it won't be as fast as the international english (US) version! Why? I have no idea, do you guys notice the same diference?

I'm trying to set up my own forum(using phpBB2) at a host where PHP is fully supported and I want to host my own SQL database for the forum but I am having problems making MySQL work, I keep getting an error saying that the database can't be accessed. I am very very new at SQL and PHP and do not know how to code or mess around SQL. I need to know what I'm doing wrong, and if you could it would be nice to know how to create a database in MySQL, and if creating it is everything thats necessary for the forum or anything else, because I just have MySQL "out of the box" installed and only created a user using MySQL Admin GUI. So any help would be great, by the way this is the error I keep getting.

Yeah, I've read that to, but aparantly thats the only info there is out there, I thought that MSFN being the site about IT management related with Windows OS would have members using it or perhaps touching it through out the day during their work, members who could give info about it, info that isn't as vague as the one found on MS's website. From everything I've found about it, it doesn't seem to be a viable competitor against Linux machines because of its "horrendous limitations"

I have a laptop with a onboard modem, and I want to send a fax using the computer, I used to do that on Windows95 I just had to install Microsoft Exchange Client, It worked kind of like a printer you would make a document send it to print and a pop up dialog would ask you for the number to which you wanted to send. Does anyone know how is it that it is done here on XP?

I thought floorplan was only to make graphics in two dimensions, autocad was my first thought but it doesnt seem to be it, im not sure, i doubt about any 3d apps, because the ones i know (bryce, maya and blender) are really in 3d and dont produce any graphics like that, im answearing based on my knowledge which is limited, thanks for the answer SiMoNsAyS

Well the cookie looks moist and tasty. It's as big as your computer mouse and covered in chocolate chips. It appears to still be warm because it left a chocolate mark on the napkin. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. lol, ill try to make those cookies, thanks for sharing the recepie
