How to give VISTA the performance of Xp for gaming?
puntoMX replied to twista's topic in Windows Vista
Same here, with Diablo 2 LOD, no problems at all. Just set the compatibility mode well... -
Hold on, moving this to the "funny farm"...

C´mon guys, it´s not that bad, just take the 2x 512MB out and put in 2x 1GB, but he will be better off taking the chipset with x3100, that will have also 2GHz Celeron. Remember that the Celeron is just the single cored version of the E2xxx series, and thus Core2 based.

Acer sells their recovery discs for most models, here you have a link.

How come you have it like that? It must be an academically version of some kind?

How to give VISTA the performance of Xp for gaming?
puntoMX replied to twista's topic in Windows Vista
Well, you´re the one that uses nVidia with Vista. Before hitting on Vista, blame nVidia first; they simply can´t make their drivers/chipsets work 100% wit Vista. ... ... Runs old and new applications fine here. You're partially right about drivers. Some companies don't have decent drivers out, but most do. nVidia drivers aren't fantastic. ATI is more on the ball when it comes to Vista. Indeed, good insight .If you want to run vista, YOU have to know HOW to build a computer to use it. It´s always someone else that sucks, or the parts they used, but never see how much they self failed. -
SP3 is still beta (public yes), that´s why . So, if you have question about function/non function of SP3 and the start menu, it´s better to post there as not much people will answer it in this topic. What you do here is called "hi-jacking a topic".

My Internet place is my "home" , working from 09.00 (Open at 11.00) till 22.00 (mostly closing at 01.00) and that 7 days a week. But if you call a "home" the place where you sleep, then I have to delete my post I think...And when I talk about my second home (including female friends ), then I have to make a bigger list

Eww... But I´m still 23!

Well, then we have poor Mexico: Motorola SBV5121 Cable Modem on 4Mb Megacable DSL Line Linksys WRT54GL w/ Tomato 1.18 Firmware 6 (six) Intel Celeron 420@2.0GHz/1.1volt/2GB RAM/80GB HDD/DVD-ROM/BENQ 19" LCD - Windows XP Professional OEM (wireless) 1 (one) Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180@3.3GHz/1.37volt/4GB RAM/500GB HDD/DVD-RW/ACER P223W 22" LCD - Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit Retail (wired) I´m still fighting with outbound traffic shaping as lots of P2P traffic is generated from the 6 client PCs (No, not my PC ).

Okay, I cheat a bit. But who has XP 64bit legally? Now, 32 or 64 bit Vista has the same price, this is why I took 64bit and to tell you the truth I would never take 32bit Vista...
-
Ow no, go ahead, I was just wondering about it, if you saw the date of the topic .
-
Dear Teh_Tech, Did you know that the topic in question is over 6 years old?
-
Too late for that , but we try to do our best to keep the 98 section up... Hmmm, if only you knew. With upcoming complete installs like Ubuntu and Debian, and projects to play even the DirectX based games on them, more people have gone from Windows to Linux while 98 users will be less, not more. Please do not compare 98 with Linux .

It's not a "hack," it's just a registry edit to allow Windows to recognize the driver at boot. It's functionally no different than loading the driver from a floppy during installation. Correct, and I made that topic to help some people out that I advised a chipset with ICH9 and were missing that performance boost on XP. I don´t notice anything negative about transferring data between Vista and Vista, it should give you a performance boost as the network layer no is more optimized. Are you referring to Vista to XP or visa-versa? Then wait a few weeks for SP3 of XP and you will have that part solved too . I moved from 32bit XP to 64bit Vista and have to say that all "feels" smoother, an huge difference I noticed was when I opened Adobe Photoshop for the first time: It just pops open and it´s ready to use! (wow, I almost look like a Vista fan-boy now ) No problems here with that, as I use good compression. Time to move on and leave Norton Ghost for what it is an take a look at Acronis True Image (really, I would try it again although you had problems with it before, and no, it´s nothing personal).

gtrz, make a topic in the beta section about it or wait 2 weeks to post in the XP section. On topic: I use the classic menu with small icons as it’s direct and faster than any other menu style. I use my taskbar to the left by the way, so I can place more tasks on the taskbar .

Also counts when one bit is changed. It doesn´t matter how much it´s changed to say...

problems with HP nx6330 notebook SD reader
puntoMX replied to rocksoccer's topic in Hardware Hangout
Well, it seems more a bad reader in my opinion. Did you contact HP about it? -
You need special screens for that, Hyundai has a good example with there 42" LCD/TFT screens. If you work with older technology like the 100MHz screens and goggles, then it´s time to step up .

-= Happy Birthday Mark! =- Congratulations Mark, I hope all your friends gave you already that special big hug you were telling me about. Too bad I can´t be there else I would try out that curry sauce you made and we could talk for hours in person (who needs sleep any way )! 49 years young , and many to go for you too!

To be very short: we´ve "talked" about it before. MSFN has to take more actions about against violating EULAs.
-
Breaking in to bank could be a lot of work too, and I assure you it is, still it doesn´t mean that the person can go out without being judged about. The real issue is stated before, and MSFN has to respect EULAs from ANY company that the code/images belong too. In this case the person picked is used as an example, which I repeat is nothing personal. A little exaggerating aren´t we? If your posts are not violating any of our rules or general laws then there is no use of doing so. I repaid, nothing got deleted.
