  1. Naa, TN panels can look good too, I think you are the only one that looks from underneath your desk to the screen .Mitsubishi or Mazda over BMW any time . But yes, if you talk about your dream PC and could get it for free, than what the heck, get yourself the best of the best (I would accept the BMW and sell it).
  2. That power supply uses a way different input voltage than standard also... Just use 2 phase power (If it holds 60Hz witch it does as far as I know ).It would take some case modding any way .
  3. After waiting some days I think I´ll post too: Forget the 2 512MB sticks, they are just not worth it any more. You will pay almost the same for 2x 512MB + 2x 1024MB than for 2x 2048MB. You will "loose" max 768MB of those 4GB when using a 32bit OS depending on chipset/BIOS and what´s hooked up to the mobo. Look for any brand that is known by you and get yourself none “overvolted” thus none OCed RAM. 1.8volt is the normal voltage for DDR2, if you get 2.0volt RAM that runs 800MHz effective with timings from 5-5-5-15 and above, you will be buying older stock or less good RAM chips. The PCB design on most modules is the same any way. A lot of people, like Zxian, like OZC RAM, I like ADATA RAM and some others on this board would pick Mushkin...
  4. Watch out that your big hamster doesn´t get sucked in by the fans (I have two of those pigs ).
  5. At first I would way it´s a hub problem, if you hook up each PC to the modem itself without using the hub they can access internet? Another point could be the DHCP server; did you check the IPs of the PCs? There are more things to look at but first check the 2 points above...
  6. Okay, found it! The silver one looks real need. Click for info.
  7. Nice setup, first time I see the full tower plexi case from AC-Rayn. What brand is that drive-bay with the 4 temperature sensors?
  8. So it was in your profile Cluberti, Finally I know your real age! Happy Birthday dude, and I see you have the day off! EDIT: I forgot the flowers...
  9. It’s these words you use, that´s why people re-act in a non-friendly way; you are asking for it yourself.Just keep your foulmouthed voice down a bit else we have to do something about it. Your expressions are not accepted nor welcome like that.
  10. Start to check the lines of the front USB ports. Are the ports on the back okay? If not it could be a faulty mobo or PSU. To swap the PSU would be the easy way to test it.
  11. Don´t forget you need to update the BIOS for sure on the older boards too, and keep your fingers crossed that it works after that. Sounds negative but it´s something to think about.
  12. My providers still sell the S754, but none of the S939. No, not based on the Tualatin core but the Coppermine core . Well, if they are that expensive I would go for a new Celeron 430, with a new motherboard from gigabyte based on the 945GC chipset and a stick of 1GB 800MHz RAM (Or 2 times that to get better Graphics performance (+30%)). Leave the computers like they are with their 1.5 and 1.6GHz CPUs. Are you sure they are S478? Sounds more like S423 to me at those speeds. 1.7GHz And higher could be S478 and very few ran at 1.5 or 1.6GHz.
  13. Not completely true; when the 2xx/4xx/1xxx line, based on the Core2, is used in combination with DDR2 they perform quite well! But, the Celeron based on the P4, including the Celeron D is indeed crippled. The Celeron II in compared with its bigger cached PIII S370 didn´t have such a negative effect when only having 128kB cache onboard. OCed at the speed of a PIII it could even be faster than the PIII. Just some side info .
  14. Check out this small topic.
  15. So Vista drivers work, who could have thought about that! Thank you for posting back .
  16. Here is a solution, but as you can see in the last 2 posts it´s not always working. I´m not a novice when it comes to integrate SATA drivers into XP, but on some Gateway systems it´s almost impossible, as if the AHCI BIOS that get´s installed before booting doesn´t except anything besides Vista although in the BIOS there are settings for the installed OS even back to DOS. Gateway seems the only brand that keeps the "Disable AHCI" from the BIOS out, giving you a hard time to get XP working. Welcome to the Forum by the way .
  17. Ow common, you must be kidding me. Never got it smoking here...
  18. Indeed, well said. Let´s give this topic a rest. - CLOSED -
  19. nCleaner I like too, but it seems they don´t update it as much as CCleaner. Still nCleaner does the job well .
  20. Still XP will be supported more, as in more people will use it, than Win 95/98/ME...
  21. Or try ATI´s own driver first...
  22. I would not use it with less than 230-235W rated CPU PSU. Why is it an 110W PSU? Is this a slim case? Even a P1 case mini/midi tower model was 200W and up in most cases.
  23. Ultra Wide SCSI, SCSI-3 SPI, 68-pin, 20 MHz, 40 MB/s Ultra2 Wide SCSI, SCSI-3 SPI-2, 68-pin or 80-pin (SCA/SCA-2), 40 MHz, 80 MB/s So, it would fit on the cable but personally I would only use the same type of devices on the same cable, e.g. Only UW SCSI or UW2 SCSI.
  24. Hi T.N.G.O.G., welcome to the forum. My first question is: Did you make a clean install after adding the card? Or, did you just remove the old card and placed the new one without cleaning out the drivers from the "older" card? I play DX 7 games myself from time to time on a 2600XT (PCI-E) and have found none of those problems. I must say that I use Vista 64 bit.
  25. Sweet ASUS P5Q PRO mobo, and not too pricy either and with the latest P45 chipset, good pick I would say. What I like about that version is the DDR2 standard...
