  1. What game does 2300 FPS? Good to hear that all works smooth and fast, have fun with it.
  2. Good that you take it easy, some freak out . Your welcome.
  3. Looks like it burned up. Most of the time it´s b/c of static energy, so when you rub it in your pocket or connect it to a computer while you or the computer is "loaded" then you could damage the pendrive. Next time touch the computer first (Tip for every one who uses one). It could have been a bad one as well, it has 5 years warranty so get a new one. Don´t ask us if you can recover the files, you simply can´t...
  4. If you OC DRR3 it outperforms DDR2, and forget that powerconsumption please . The guys from Xbit-labs made a review on DDR3, interesting to see that indeed powerconsumption lowers with 2 to 6 watt´s when 1GB is used .
  5. Thanx Prime, this is way more better then the other review... 38Watts Compared to the 2400XT it uses about 37watt more idle and 31watts more under load. Diference between the idle 2400XT and 2600XT under load is 58watts, it it uses 58watts + what the 2400 uses and that is far from 38watts . EDIT: Okay, so now it´s not an golden sample any more, now there are the reference cards... Still it isn´t out. One thing I like is that the 2600XT uses GDDR4 (Compared with the 8600GT with GDDR3), and it will be around 150US$ they say... To bad they didn´t test the 2600PRO version with GDDR3, or compare it with the 8600GTS (In my eyes a more fair compare)... Also no pricetag of that card, just the DDR2 version with a price of 90US$... EDIT2: An other review from Anantech...
  6. The 690G/V chipset is based on the X700 core, so that one uses 9watt idle and 20watt under load, let´s take of the 128MB of DDR2 RAM and the powerconversion/loss of the motherboard (and that´s just very small bit). Then we take the optimalisation of the core and put in some HDMI and other video features. What do you think it will be? 2 watts? Then look again. ... They did the powertest wrong! They should have tested it and compare it with an other card where they knew exactly the power consumption from, or do it from scratch like for example the guys xbitlabs. Just my 2 + 2 cents .
  7. It has 4 10/100 ports that you can use with X-link UTP cables or normal UTP cables (CAT 5 will be okay). You can disable the wireless part from the router. LinkSYS is a part of CISCO systems for some time now, altrough the WRT54GL is engineerd by LinkSYS.
  8. As far as I know there are some devices that can´t be formated in NTFS due to technical limitacions of the hardware. THat USB drive (FLASH) could be one of them.
  9. Didn´t pass 3Dmark06, so looks like a beta / golden sample to me... Another week¿ More like an other month or so, and it´s not out! Let´s see what other sites will report on it. As always this is very interesting . EDIT: By the way, they don´t have any proof of those 38watts, they say that the onboard VGA (x1250 / 690G) only uses 2watts?!!! Get real, no way it uses 2 watts...
  10. Should work . Now OC that baby to more then 1333MHz FSB. B)
  11. Same here .
  12. And before they start to talk with you, they rip you already $300 , good business ... I must say it´s made precise, but home build is way cooler and gives you more satisfaction .
  13. Technical you are right, however, when you take a look in reallife powerconsumtion you will see no diferences when it comes to a complete system. DDR3 still needs some more work in my eyes . EDIT: Forgot to say, DDR3 is great for OCing , that´s some thing for sure...
  14. First I like to say that there are fast 1.9volt DDR2 DIMMS, so why get the overdone 2.2volt versions? If the BIOS has options to set the voltage to 2.2 then it might work but you could face a problem here. If you buy it from a online store prepare to pay for restocking and mail cost as well if it doesn´t work. You are just taking a big risk here, just my thoughts. It could help us if you tell us the model name of the mobo and RAM so we can help you better .
  15. When you buy the DFI, buy it with a new chipset cooler; the one it has now is noisy and needs to replaced in 6 to 12 months any way. The ASUS ripken linked doesn´t have the firewire and digital out, so think about that if you need it. The GigaByte is nice, but indeed I would go with the GA-M59SLI-S5 with the nForce590, especialy when you OC it. If you like the ones from DFI the LANParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R/G is a good choice and OCes like 5% better then the Gigabyte, also is has a good chipset fan unlike the INFINITY NF570-M2/G. Abit FATAL1TY AN9 32X would be the best for OCing, but it could be more noise; it has 2 4cm fans on it.
  16. ... $1460 ...
  17. Core "X" Octavo would be logic, but still we have to see what and how...
  18. Yeah, stupid... on the firts page they say X1 on Specification it says X4 .
  19. Your PCI-E is a 16x sloth with 1x speed, so 250MB/s is the max. on that. SOme video cards don´t work on 1x/4x PCI-E mobos so you have to try out the combination. If it works sure it will be a lot faster then your onboard VGA, bottleneck you will see most when you use larger textures and higher resolucions. Why didn´t you look for a 8600GT by the way?
  20. Just take a look at this link, it doesn´t show any thing about the board you linked but there are other mobos listed with the same chipset.
  21. Cool system nmX.Memnoch, I like those new Antec cases and PSUs.
  22. By the way, EPOX just died in Europe and the USA, to much RMA. Keeps me thinking... 1 out of 40...
  23. iNTEL just re-used Pentium , for there 2140/2160... ANd it´s not that stupid, why change a name that is known by the people? Marketing, just think about it .
  24. It is, but as you know, iNTEL still is using the Pentium name as well (2xxx series CPUs). For sure they will use Core2Duo for more time... Look at the Quad Core for example...
  25. Mobos with the P35 and G33 are ready for those P1266 45nm process CPUs, FSB on 1333MHz and also supports DDR3. And those mobos will have a new voltage regulator as well... Core3Duo must be a typo , or I missed something ?
