Hi there, first of all please apologize me for creating this topic... A few months ago I found a topic about removing WMP completely (also the codecs!) with Nlite, use MPC instead and still be able to play everything. Even being able to have the fancy WMP10 controls in browsers... Now I have been searching for 2 hours... can't find this topic anymore... believe me I have searched A LOT. So if anyone could give me a hint where o where this topic is...

Hi Felix how's it going? i've been away for a while, but I am back again.. I made a new install with the install builder and now get the "Unknown BurnPhase" error... strange because I didn't had this problem before.. using way less regs. I really wonder what could cause this... I will do some tests in the weekend. EDIT: it might be because of bad uninstall of previous Nero! not everything in the registry is removed or something... I am going to test on a clean system today. I have always got the "Unknown BurnPhase" with Nero Custom Install Builder. Someone said it was nero`s fault because ppl using an unmodified installer get the error aswell, but i have just used vcBlackBox`s NCAB and i don`t get the error! If i install nero with vcBlackBox`s guide and then install nero with felix`s guide over the top i don`t get the "Unknown BurnPhase". So i think that there must be some missing reg entries or files. Egon's Dragon, can you give vcBlackBox`s guide a try and see if you still get the error. Felix, maybe you could compare your nero stripper with vcBlackBox`s. I`ve had a look and can`t get my head round it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I see for MPC the first post still says /regvid and /regaud will associate... these switches don't work with the current MPC (6.4.8.4 and they didn't work with the unofficial 6.4.8.3 either).

Just Copy and paste huh! after that you can just reassociate to be sure via Options and File Types.

what is the current status of the Ati Mobile support development? I know getting the BASE bug-free consumes most of the time... but it seems BASE will be bugfree this week! At least for me BASE works fine now... so waiting to create my final CD... with mobile support! But so far I am already very satisfied with the packs

You really should use NLITE! I have several pc's running on an Nlited WinXP version for more than 5 months now... My most recent XPCD has a lot of free space... WinXP only uses between 250~300 MB! And I have a FULLY functional WinXP... several people are running it and they don't miss a thing... I have a bunch of programs... some of them (Nero.. EAC.. Mozilla Thunderbird, lots of settings files and also Winamp plugins) that do not need installer are in 1 major 7ZIP file... after that is extracted I run a reg file and a cmd file for the neccessary things to do... saves A LOT of space.... Really no need for DVD unless you also want to put some specific (non-commonly used by most users) software as Photoshop...

M3? what is this new method? I thought M2 was perfect... why would one choose M3?

Bashrat when reading the site about BASE and changelog of all the driverpacks it seemed to me the "too long OemPnPDriversPath" problem was fixed, but on the BASE page it is still listed as a 'Known Issue". I am seeing the final now... only Nvidia Go/Ati Mobile support and it is finished!

indeed, altough your PC might seem to work without Chipsetdrivers... it will not perform as it is suppose to be. Also, if I do not install chipset drivers, everytime a Windows Sound is played it starts stuttering for 2 sec... I have VIA KT133A chipset.

I think languages use very very little space... not really worth it.

Perhaps people should check their CD again... I have WinXP SP2, with the RyanVM update, .Net Framework, Nero Reloaded, Office2003 (Word/Excel/Powerpoint), Firefox with Flash/shockw./Java 5, Kaspersky AV, Winamp, DVD-Rebuilder, Dvddecrypter, Xnview fotobrowser, Media Player Classic + Real/Quicktime Alt, ffdshow, MSN Messenger, Thunderbird, Exact Audio Copy, Spybot, CCleaner, Nblue Theme, Adobe Reader..... well thats about it I think... Oh yeah, also have ALL the driverpacks... And a autorun menu with an option to install PartitionMagic it's a 700 MB CD.. still have space to add Finereader OCR... So why a Lite pack? I want my disc to work on ALL pc's... Why no DVD? well lot's of pc's can't play DVD. and it fits just fine on a CD! So I see no reason spending time on a Lite package.. BTW: I have made 1 massive 7z file of the software that doesn't need an installer (think of Nero, dvdrebuilder, eac, lots of other things can't come up with) it is saving me about 70-80 MB of space... the file extracts itself to %Systemdrive%, putting all the files in program files or windows folder If you still need to steel space from the driverpacks, you could remove the Audigy driver yourself, just open the pack and delete the corresponding folder

strangely can't find this anywhere so i'll make it a feature request: Option to fill in useraccounts (with their avatar)/give computername/give workgroup name (for the network). That would be great!

a few months ago I found a tool here that allows the creation of useraccounts/pc name/workgroup... if it starts up all these things can be filled in and thats it.. so if you install on different pc's you can fill all this data just in one screen .. but now I can't find it anymore!

I must say there is a point made about the Search... problem is there is an overflood of topics... I think half of them contain questions wich can be answered with the unattended guide... I use the search a lot.... but it is difficult to find something... just to many topics...

OH djeess... this is what I am trying for so long... to get MPC in Firefox (or IE)!! so that I don't need WMP at all! Now I see some people here are going for a new extremely lite codecpack... I am 100% against all current codecpacks since they install a lot of codecs... wich is not needed... I use: MPC, FFDShow (and Real/Quicktime Alt). Now I also use Illiminable Ogg codecs (Ogg/Theora/Speex/Flac) http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/ FFDshow is really all you need to play videofiles, it produces better image quality (then original codecs) and lower CPU power. For reasons why not to use those massive codecpacks:http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/ffdshow.cfm So I hope if there will be a new lite codecpack... it will contain FFDshow! Now I am going to get this method in my UWCD and test BTW: altough MPC is my standardplayer, if I use my uwcd on other people computers they dont like the old fashioned MPC interface and still use WMP... is there any possibility to get the wmp10 buttons in the MPC player interface? Just a question... not much hope..

What does the Foxit PDF reader installer do? I use this reader, I have it included in 1 7zip file wich extracts almost all programs without installer/modified files (this works really fast since extracting 1 thing is faster than extracting several small). With regtweaks I have PDF associated with Foxit. I used Regshot to find the regtweaks... not sure if I need all of them... perhaps your installer does the same with less regtweaks?

It is not really needed for these packs... and btw you can easily create your own pack. But perhaps Hp38User's Driver Compressor Tool is what you need? Driver Compressor

Will this be done by integrating the Omega drivers? Since I use my own nlite-WinXP sp2, after I have installed the manufacturers (HP) driver for my Mobile 9600 I cannot do anything in WinXP anymore... tried the updated driver of HP.. same problem... tried only installing driver and no CP... nothing helped. Then I used Omega drivers... now it works flawless

Have a wrong regtweak! ;----- Adds My Network Places to MY Computer ;----- [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\ {208D2C60-3AEA-1069-A2D7-08002B30309D}] (in 2 lines to maintain the structure of this website) It does add "My Network Places" to My Computer, but when I go to My Computer, and double click the "My Network Places" icon, I dont get my network places!! I get "Search for Computers" instead!

btw uhmm I the soundmax control panel is not installed... but that's normal I guess... since this is a separate driverpack without the control panel..
