  1. Shockwave 10.1 and Flash 7 but forget I mentioned it... How do I set the MSI to silently install without the pack of themes etc? I know the /qn and /qb switches. but how do I get this basic installation silently!?

  3. Is this topic still active? I want to associate Winamp with audiofiles, but it must be able to play video as well! I install with your MSI and use Xaudio=1 Xvideo=0, then Video support isn't installed So now I install with Xaudio=1 and Xvideo=1, but then videofiles are also associated with winamp. In the preferences menu, there is a button AUDIO ONLY, is there perhaps something possible like this: run Winamp.exe /regaudioonly ?? (The idea is from Media Player Classic) Problem is, cant use the ASSOC in cmd, Because when you start winamp it will restore its associations (this functionality I want to keep) Who can help me?
  4. anyone has a regtweak to remove banner under MSN Messenger and also the marketing/interview/questions thingie? I know there was a regtweak for the banner... but works only on old versions...
  5. @totoymola I prefer a clean Firefox... so I can decide myself what plugins/extensions/themes... Your method seems good for this... But how do I set the msi to silently install without the plugins/themes etc? think this can be done with one switch since its already an option during installation or (not so important) with just one theme and nothing else (Noia Lite) and (not so important) is there a way to remove the flashplugin? my RunOnceEx already installs Flash and Shockwave and I prefer this (easy if new version comes out)
  6. They are all there OEM folder in root, presetup.cmd and txtsetup.sif in i386 and txtsetup.sif contains presetup.cmd going to test tomorrow without DEL %systemdrive%Drivers in my RunOnceEx > end.cmd file EDIT: well... I'm getting crazy.. still te same error.. right after RunOnceEx is finished and I get the screen "Windows will restart in 1 minute" Another screen pops up "can't locate file C:\Drivers\s\sound...panels.cmd .... blablabla and only thing I can do is pressing the OK button. BTW: when I check my C drive... there is a folder "Drivers" but its EMPTY! (so the error is correct) My CD also has \$OEM$\$1\Drivers (empty) so it's logical the folder is created on the harddisk... But it's not logical to me that the folder on the harddisk is empty... seems nothing is compressed to that folder? I seriously don't have a clue what causes this error... Sounddrivers ARE installed... but how do I know if its not just installed by WindowsXP? how do I know whether the soundpacks drivers are used? the testmachine is an old COMPAQ ARMADA E500, and the sounddriver installed: ESS Maestro2E with date: 1-7-2001 version 5.1.5.... digitally signed by MS publisher.. Perhaps too old soundcard... I will test tomorrow on a new laptop (HP Compac nc8000, Centrino chipset) I suppose then I will be able to find out wether the drivers of the soundpack are installed or not.. But the problem not finding the .cmd file will ofcourse still ecxist
  7. After week of exams... I'm back... So if I understand your edits correctly, I SHOULD add the line to my winnt.sif, wich is good cos otherwise the guide would be wrong I tried it again... method 2... (need to save space on my disc thats why I dont want m1) But still, the $OEM$\$1\Drivers folder remains empty... the problem is... I cannot test if the audio drivers are installed, the laptop I used to run VirtualPC is no longer available to me... and my pc doesnt have enough memory to run VirtualPC But I don't understand..... I perform the steps correctly... Everything seems to go well... now SHOULD there be anything in the $OEM$\$1\Drivers folder? OR should this happen during setup? Because there will HAVE TO be something there, otherwise the line in WINNT.SIF is useless EDIT: Now I'm starting to understand the method a little bit better.... opened the DriverPackSound.7z file... in there (Drivers/S/ there is the soundcontrolpanel.cmd file... So, if the archives are decompressed, the file SHOULD be there.... the error I got, "couldn't find the file.... " therefore means the archives aren't decompressed Maybe this is the problem (but don't know solution) : The final command of my RunOnceEx (and everyones I think), is an .cmd file (END.CMD) wich delete the following: (Perhaps the SoundControlPanels.cmd file will run after RunOnceEx is finished... ) RD /S /Q %systemdrive%\Drivers\ <---- I suppose this is the problem? If I remove this line... how will the Drivers folder be deleted?? cmdow @ /HID shutdown.exe -r -f -t 60 -c "Windows XP will restart in 1 minute..." net user aspnet /delete RD /S /Q %systemdrive%\Drivers\ RD /S /Q %systemdrive%\Install\ RD /S /Q "%systemroot%\lastgood\" RD /S /Q "%systemroot%\lastgood.tmp\" RD /S /Q "%systemroot%\RegisteredPackages\" RD /S /Q "%systemroot%\Temp\" RD /S /Q "%systemdrive%\Temp\" and some other stuff
  8. WOW thats great! Could you perhaps tell us what you've modified? And how did you know what to modify? And I assume this is about the final version? this is the most simple unattended method... only if you want to add extensions and set other settings and bookmarks the method at http://firefox.dbltree.com/ or in this topic can be used. Still have to decide what I'm going to do... But its nice to have such an easy method! B)
  9. SiMoNsAyS perhaps you know about this: is there also a plugin for Media Player Classic? if you install Quicktime & Real Alternative... they will work with MPC in Firefox just fine.. but for Windows Media streams... Firefox uses Windows Media Player.... I would like it to use MPC instead.. ontopic: thought I found the silent switch in the final 1.0 setup: unpack the downloaded .xe (its a 7z archive). Look for the file Config.ini: [General] ; Run Mode values: ; Normal - Shows all dialogs. Requires user input. ; Auto - Shows some dialogs, but none requiring user input. It will ; automatically install the product using default values. ; Silent - Show no dialogs at all. It will install product using default ; values. Run Mode=Normal But if you change it to Auto or silent... and then run the setup.exe file... You'll be asked where to install.. and Next/Previous buttons aren't working... only Cancel
  10. I used Method2 I get an error, after RunOnceEx, it cannot find C:\Drivers\S\Sound_Control_Panels.cmd I did follow the guide... put this in my WINNT.SIF: [GuiRunOnce] Command0=%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Drivers\S\Sound_Control_Panels.cmd So what goes wrong? I checked my $OEM$\$1\ folder on my CD, it does contain a folder Drivers, but that folder is empty! Now if that folder is empty.... not only the Sound_control_panels.cmd but then I guess no driver will be found at all...Not sure about that since method2 did place a folder OEM in the root, wich contains the three .7z files and a BIN folder... It IS possible, after I did Method2, I copied my own folders to my UWXP folder... wich means I overwrited the already ecxisting $OEM$ folder... but I cannot believe I made that stupid mistake... -->Can anyone tell me if there SHOULD BE files in the $OEM$\$1\Drivers folder, placed automatically when performing Method2? Or did I had to copy Sound_Control_Panels.cmd myself? its not mentioned in the guide...
  11. okey yes that is pretty stupid of me thnx!
  12. Can anyone confirm I dont need to integrate chipset drivers anymore when using the Driverpacks? Cos then one only needs to add Ati and Nvidia videocard drivers y voila... no more manual driver installation needed I used to download chipsetdrivers (VIA 4in1, Intel, Nvidia Nforce, SiS) and integrate them with Nlite... that was a lot of work... but not neccessary anymore?
  13. Can anyone confirm I dont need to integrate chipset drivers anymore when using the Driverpacks? 14. wow... so if I'm not mistaken... if I use this driverpack... it also supports all integrated landevices? So all motherboards with Nforce or VIA or ATI or INTEL or SiS chipset are supported? Or only LAN-PCI cards?? Why isn't there a statement in the TOPICSTART telling what is exactly supported? Because if all is supported... no need for integrating chipsetdrivers anymore! Can anyone verify all the integrated lan on motherboards is supported? SO I dont need to integrate chipsetdrivers anymore? (ofcourse when using all the driverpacks)
  15. is there a way to silently install the second package (its called the Vision Express 3 package) but only install Vision Express and Recode, not the other applications included in this package? the package includes: Package 2 * NeroVision Express 3 * Nero Recode 2 * Nero ShowTime 2 * Nero PhotoSnap * Nero MediaHome http://www.nero.com/en/nero-prog.php Showtime is to play media files... wich I already can play in Media Player Classic or Winamp, Photosnap is useless.. I have Xnview for fotobrowsing/minor editing and PSP for photoediting, MediaHome is also something I will never use.. If I just delete the folders in the installation package I think it will result in an error cause the installer cannot locate the files... (not tested)
  16. The code to remove works! thanks a lot! (tested). But to change the values isn't working... EDIT: it seems to work now! tried it like this: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ;Change Power Management Configuration [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies\0] "Description"="This is the standardschedule, for all computers" "Name"="Enerysave" "Policies"=hex(0):01,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00, 00,00,05,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,B0,04,00,00,78,00,00,00,32,32,03,02,04,00, 00,00,04,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,14,F2,06,00,58,02,00,00,3C,00,00,00,58,02, 00,00,B4,00,00,00,00,00,64,64,64,64,09,78 ;Change Power Management Configuration [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies\0] "Description"="This is the standardschedule, for all computers" "Name"="Enerysave" "Policies"=hex(0):01,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02, 00,00,00,05,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,B0,04,00,00,78,00,00,00,32,32,03,02, 04,00,00,00,04,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,14,F2,06,00,58,02,00,00,3C,00,00,00, 58,02,00,00,B4,00,00,00,00,00,64,64,64,64,09,78 ;Remove [-HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies\3] [-HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies\4] [-HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies\5] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies\3] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies\4] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies\5] (I've used RETURNS in the hexcode here.. because strange things like & # appear if I don't wich mess up the code... ofcourse the original hexcode is one long line) One small problem... in Regedit, when I look at the TYPE, it should be REG_BINARY. For HKEY_CURRENT_USER it is ok, REG_BINARY but for HKEY_USERS it says REG_NONE Also, when I look at Enery options in Control panel... I only have the "Energysave" scheme... all others are gone.. perhaps they are visible on laptops only... further testing will give the answer I think... will post final results here. only need one regtweak and I'm finished! it's this one:
  17. (I'm sorry for 3 posts instead of one... ) @Timorad: have no ideas HI, I found a nice regtweak... but don't know how to apply it in my regtweak.reg file for unattended install...: Now, I'd like to modify 0, 1 and 2 the name and the values. I know how to modify the names. Also want to remove 3, 4 and 5. But in Regedit these items are like folders... I don't know what I should put in the regfile to delete these! Who can help? Below I have a preview about the regtweak so far: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ;Change Power Management Configuration [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\PowerCfg\0] "Description"="This is the standardschedule, for all computers" "Name"="Enerysave" "Policies"=hex: [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\PowerCfg\1] "Description"="This is a schedule balbalbla" "Name"="monitoroff" "Policies"=hex: [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\PowerCfg\2] "Description"="Disabled, good for presentations or if u don't want pc to go in stby" "Name"="All OFF" "Policies"=hex: As you can see, I have no values yet for "Policies". That's my second problem! First, I just set my own scheme in the Control Panel and save it. Then I start Regedit, and go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg] here I can find the scheme just made, and the values for "Policies". As you can see in the image, its a big list! How to I put these in the regfile? Here a screenshot of Regedit. This is the "Policies" for the scheme I made, it is set to poweroff monitor after 10min, HDD after 10min, standby after 20 min. 2nd prob: How do I add all these values in my regtweak file correctly? 1st prob: How to delete the 'folders' (perhaps the correct term is string value) 3,4 and 5?
  18. this tweak is not working... ; Turn off Adobe splash screen [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\6.0\Originals] "bBrowserCheck"=dword:00000001 "bDisplayAboutDialog"=dword:00000001 "bDisplayAboutDialog"=dword:00000001 should be "bDisplayAboutDialog"=dword:00000000 (I'm not sure)
  19. No-one? Am I the only one, or is everybody using the classic start menu? I just dont want this list! its very annoying to me... Perhaps you have the regtweak applied (like me) to disable this list... check your regtweak files!
  20. The following tweak for Adobe Reader does not work at all... not with my Unattended disc (I use cmdlines.exe) and not if I just run the reg file manually: ; Turn off Adobe splash screen [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\6.0\Originals] "bBrowserCheck"=dword:00000001 "bDisplayAboutDialog"=dword:00000001 WinXP SP2 slipstreamed, Adobe Reader 6.0.1 I think it should be: ; Turn off Adobe splash screen [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\6.0\Originals] "bBrowserCheck"=dword:00000001 "bDisplayAboutDialog"=dword:00000000 Don't know what bBrowserCheck does... will have to test.. and a request, is there a regtweak to get Mozilla Firefox in the Start Menu, so that after the unattended install is finished, IE is not seen in the Start Menu. (This is automatically done when FF is launched the 1st time and you set FF as default browser)
  21. This tweak doesnt work for Thunderbird 0.8 or higher... because the location is incorrect, its not Mozilla\\Thunderbird\\thunderbird.exe but Mozilla Thunderbird\\thunderbird.exe Now it works perfect! very nice. Is there also something like this for Mozilla Firefox??
  22. XnView: REG ADD %KEY%\034 /VE /D "Fotobrowser installeren" /f REG ADD %KEY%\034 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\Install\Apps\xnview.exe /SILENT /SP-" /f BTW, XnView uses a INI file for the settings... this VERY NICE! now You can configure XnView the way you want... make an SFX that extracts the .ini file to C:\Program Files\xnview\ COULD anyone confirm the regtweak for Start Menu above is only for the user logged in, ,not for users created in the future?
  23. Hi, I found this famous regtweak... but I think it is incomplete! so it doesn't work: ;Disable Windows Picture and Fax Viewer [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers\ShellImagePreview] I am using Xnview (its a program like ACDsee or Irfanview but better) so I don't need Windows Viewer... how do I disable it?
  24. But this will only work for the user you are logged in with... Not for users added later... so not very useful I think EDIT: DOES WORK for users added later (if you use cmdlines method)
  25. I think i've seen a regtweak to remove Recycle bin.... will search... have a question... after my unattended install, I would like to run a regtweak wich makes Mozilla Thunderbird the default mailclient. This is automatically set AFTER first time I run Thunderbird...But then I also have to set an account etcetera.... Is there perhaps also a way to modify what to do when I insert an AudioCD, an cd with videos, and a cd with audio files? Now you get a popup, asking you what program to launch... I want to set it to launch Media Player Classic automatically. (Or Winamp for audioCD and audio files cd) EDIT: I understand, no requests in this topic! so will post it in another one EDIT2: can't really find an active topic...
