  1. about MSJVM... it's not installed together with xpsp2 so... can i use Sun Java as a replacement or it's stupid? so as a conclusion i must think if i want a full xp i need to add to sp2: Journal Viewer DotNet Framework 1.1 HighMAT Sun Java *DX9c WM9 and Messenger 4.7 are included, aren't they?
  2. @XtremeMaC no, definitly less than 80 pins... SATA drive
  3. @XtremeMaC thanks for your reply. no, it doesn't says anything only a lighter blue screen than normal. i havedone many things and i still can solve it, i'll try format again and a clean installation of xpsp2 slipstreamed. about Spinrite: it's a dos utility, works with SATA drives and can repair HD problems but it doesn't have any shareware version so you can not test it until bought
  4. Full Story what do you think?
  5. try all of the above and if it doen't work, reinstall your (nforce) drivers and reinstall directx9c that may solve the problem
  6. doom3 it's optimized for nvidia cards and hl2 will be optimized for ati cards. both are good but i think ati on the last round won with their ati 9x00 cards. personally i preffer ati because it's cheaper and less power consumer than nvidia.
  7. i think you must start from here if the only thing you want it's an installation xp sp2 cd (not unattended) first copy your original xp cd to a folder and then run from the command line "sp2file.exe /s:folderofxp". then burn using autoboot utility. an alternative way it's use nLite an utility from nuhi that lets you reduce the installation source of xp and do all of the above from a nice gui. good luck! ps: i've forgotten one thing, if you have a problem or want to ask a specific question about nLite please ask it here
  8. thanks guys, i was curious but it seems to be a fake
  9. have anyone seen this this means... if english users can download sp2 the 10th of august and can order the sp2 cd the 25th... maybe spanish users can order the sp2 cd 8th of september and can download sp2... -15.... the 25th of august???
  10. where did you found that screens?
  11. have anyone tried this?
  12. I did these things plus upgraded to DirectX 9c ... no crashes! Amazing how the latest drivers seem to cure 99% of problems. Thanks all! after playing with some crashes i decided to install 4.9 for d3 and after reinstall dx9c... no more freezes, no more crashes and more perfomance
  13. i've just played Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3 maybe there's a way to make something more with it...
  14. too late in spain (4:06am) now i'm going to bed. maybe tomorrow will be the "SP2-Day" or maybe not anyway i'll check this thread anothertime. goodnight
  15. today i started playing d3, it is randomly crashing (i'm still at the first moment of the storyline). i don't know what it is causing it (i use the nocd too), but as an idea after crash windows give an error "minimum virtual memory". after incresing it, appears to be no problem.
  16. i'm happy that you agree with me also i think the same, it just a minor delay and will be available soon, in a few days or so. why anyone haven't said anything about: from here 110 mb is the biggest download for sp2 via windows update, it's less that what i have thought... how many mb will be the sp2 (from the microsoft site not windows update??
  17. true, i'll move to The count-down to SP2
  18. @prathapml what's the matter with you?! i just searched for something that someone asked to know. i posted it in 2 threads because i thought both will like to know where the news came from.
  19. jajajajaja i'll stay tunned
  20. i personally preffer the delay than a new windows update (v5) carrying 300mb of directx9d, WMP 9 1/2, and 30 updates for outlook and iexplorer. MS please take note: what i only want it's a release on august being sure that i won't need a sp3 on christmas!!
  21. @prathapml i know it i was just refering to a topic i read http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=23283&hl=
  22. what i've found http://it.21cn.com/software/softnews/2004/...8830.shtml?muud

  24. don't bother with future requirements, wxp requirements were w98se x2 so i can not believe LH requirements will be wxp x20. and thinking about storage... 1 TB?? nowadays hardware storage x10?? and finally 1GB of bandwidth??!! i'm sure that inet will not progress than faster, remember what you got 3/4 years ago?? i think microsoft wants to impress customers with that hardware to take some attention over longhorn
  25. http://www.winnetmag.com/windowspaulthurro...rott_43510.html i really doubt these are words from microsoft if microsoft still needs to test sp2 its hard to believe the tomorrow release, as far as i know sp2 was finished 07/30/04 and at this moment they are hard testing the service pack.
