the server crack only works on a server you are running, a private server or a friends etc.. it stops the server asking for the Cd key so if you join a legitimate server it will still ask for a cd key.. we should all get together and have a game sometime when everyones had some more practice.. i still havent played it

do you have problems playing mpegs? have a mess about in the advanced settings in media player, i had problems too, id make a few changes, untick a box, restart media player and after a bit of fiddling it worked, it seems to mess the settings up if you install real player.. might not be real player but on win2k and then winXP just after installing real player media player would need all the settings altering might have been coincidence.. see if you can play mpegs and a few other video types if not then its not a suprise if it wont play DVD... have you tried using something like mgi DVD or power quest? ive no experiance of laptops and DVD though just if one of those works.. then wont matter so much about media player

that happens to me elite, its caused by that pants graphics card and onboard sound, i get it on quake and other games with large movies sometimes. i deleted that post sedative made, it was someones pub, dont want anyboard wars now do we... ill host a server some times, be beter if bah does it we can get more of us on be a laugh anyway, and xperties.. i just thrashed a mate on empire earth, he couldnt connect to me if i hosted, but i could connect to him! pity he was on dialup.. but it played fine. now i think if i boot the pc without having ZA load on startup then try host you will be able to connect.. he has no firewall on so i think ZA affects empire earth. worth a try sometime anyway i can kick your but too then :blueteam :asshake :king

odigo sux! one cool feature it has is the fact that you can post notes on sites and other odigo and Bt messanger users can see them, but the site owner cant! so... we all get Odigo and go to all the xp sites right and.... lol i think it sucks because its not realtime like MSN (well almost) and using ICQ/AOLm and the rest is like chatting via SMS, where as MSN and yahoo messangers are like a chat room, even easy and quick to invite people in. Odigo would be good for keeping intouch with your ICQ buddies, but better still make them all get MSN hehe ive not tried trillian.. might give it a go though, drew, you said you used it... but you where pretty suprised by there being a few of us in the same window wasnt you? kind of gives me an idea what trillian will be like....

win2k is, excellent, but the points people bring up here should make you think.. personally id go for XP... but then as BAH points out your machines need to be upto it, as they would with win2k... its similar to XP in its quirks with older equipment and strange OEM parts such as modems etc BAH is the man to ask.. he deals with this kind of scenario a lot it will also depend on what you plan to use it for [?] Tris

if you want a server machine now.. why not use Linux? or Win2k Advanced server? or even install apache ( if it will on xp ) are you wanting this for testing purposes or hosting a site? if its the first, id try apache or get hold of a copy of XP Pro, but even beter would be what lou said.. Xp .NET when the finals out
