Haha, I agree. What do I want? - An MSDN subscription so I can get Vista and Office '07. - Parts for a new computer, including but certainly not limited to: Intel Quad Core (okay... Core 2 Duo Extreme is okay, I guess) A second Intel Quad core (if the motherboard supported it) 32 gigs of ram (okay... 4 is fine ) Two nVidia 8800GTX cards et cetera, et cetera Sounds like you want a Mac Pro. Has everything you've asked for!

A great trick that you might not know about...
gamehead200 replied to gamehead200's topic in General Discussion
Yes, it does depend on your video card and driver... However, I have tried it on several non-tablet Dell laptops and it seems to work fine. -
Except I know what I'm doing, and they know that I know what I'm doing, so everything works out.

- Visit the admins/socialize with them every once and a while. - Suggest stuff they can do to improve their network. - Work for them during the summer. I've done all three, and whenever I need something done, they'll do it for me; no questions asked. For example, I need a few ports opened so I can use Hamachi on the wireless network. They know I'll be using it to get around their proxy, but they really don't care. I have another valid reason to be using it! I've also asked them to remove a few restrictions from their proxy for me. No problem.

- nice leather coat - 24" iMac w/ Intel Core 2 Duo (well, I don't really want it for Christmas, but I'd like to get it eventually) - iSkin keyboard cover for my iBook - true video iPod (if Apple surprises the public with it) - a couple of 250GB drives - $$$

I've had this problem in the past. I believe you have to install the manufacturer's drivers for the video card before attempting to use one of those tools. That solved my problem.

Those of you with Tablets may already know about this one, but if you ever want to play a trick on someone, hit the following key sequence: Ctrl+Alt+Down This has worked on MOST of the computers I have tried it on (including laptops) running XP. To switch it back, hit: Ctrl+Alt+Up You can also flip the screen sideways by hitting: Ctrl+Alt+Left and Ctrl+Alt+Right This will definitely confuse some of your profs when having your laptop sideways on your lap.

My school has 5 members in the IT department responsible for a little over 600-700 PCs. So around 140 PCs per IT technician.

This literally makes me "ROFLMFAO!!!" : Anyways, you need a little background information before I get to the good stuff. My grandmother doesn't speak, read, or understand ANY English. She is an Italian landed immigrant living in Canada and has been for the last 40 or so years. When my grandmother gets a letter in the mail that isn't in Italian, she usually gets either my mother or my aunt to translate it for her. Yesterday, she got a letter in the mail FROM SPAIN telling her that she had won close to €800,000. My grandmother has never been to Spain and does not intend to go there anytime soon. After taking a look at this letter, I knew right away that it was a fake. Just to make sure, I did a few Google searches for different phrases in the letter. I wasn't too surprised to find that this was indeed a scam. It seems that people everywhere have been receiving these letters, including some in the USA, New Zealand, Ireland, etc. I have attached the letter for your fun and enjoyment. Enjoy!

Yes, take a few minutes to browse through the forums or search. You will be very surprised at what you will find. Also take a look at http://www.nliteos.com/ in the Guides section. Angel Blue01 is right about the SATA drivers, though.

I hope you realize we all have lives away from this board and more than half our time is spent AWAY from MSFN. I am currently still in school and don't have much time to reply to or even discuss stuff like this on a daily basis; I just don't have the time to go through every single post and make sure that every single little thing is taken care of during every single second of every day; that's why we have more than one moderator. Your sarcasm is not welcome here if that's the way you're going to be. And you shouldn't be saying something such as "OMFG!!! A MOD DISSING WINDOZE!!" either because we all have our personal opinions regarding technology. It's not too surprising in my opinion to see someone saying something of that sort, and I'm sure my fellow colleagues would agree with me. In either case, I'm glad you resolved your problem, but behaviour of that sort (sarcasm towards others) will not be tolerated here. Seeing as you are a new member here, I suggest you take another good read at the rules located beneath the MSFN logo before continuing to post. Something you might have missed: If you feel the need to reply to this small bit of information, please feel free to PM me. Do NOT, under any cirumstances, reply to this post in this thread.

Ha, yeah, I'm not too worried about the password itself (mine is 17 alpha-numeric characters), it's that **** secret question... But I think I've got a way to trick some people... Secret question: What's your favorite pet's name? Answer: <favorite video game or something totally unrelated> Ha... My password would take the world's fastest super-computer around 120 million years to crack!! 2.87x10^26 combinations!

Hey guys, Last night as I chatted with some of my buddies on MSN, I was suddenly kicked off with the message saying "You have signed in at another location." First thing I thought was, "Wow... Someone went through the trouble of guessing my Windows Live ID's Secret Question and got it right," and I was right. Luckily, I was able to sent a password reset e-mail to an alternate e-mail address. When I got home tonight I found three (!!) password reset e-mails, two for my Windows Live ID and one for my Google Account, that I had not requested. This is really starting to annoy me, and I become paranoid when it comes to security. I feel like whoever's trying to get in will eventually get it, despite having a secure password and a now unguessable Secret Question. So my question to you all is the following... Is there a way to contact Microsoft and/or Google from blocking further attempts in the next several days? I have already sent an e-mail to Microsoft regarding my Windows Live ID but I doubt I'll get a response. Otherwise... What should I do?

Yes. And it's awesome.

Wow... What could they possibly put in Vienna that they haven't put in Vista? I think they've just about fattened-up Vista as much as they could, don't you all think?
