You may find that the XP Pro CD is somewhere on your PC. A company i worked for once used to place them all c:\windows\options\cabs. An easy way to tell, is Open Control Panel Click Add/remove Programs Click Add/Remove Windows Components (may be wrong, but def Components) Add or Remove something, if asks for your CD then yyou need to find it, if not then the files are probably on your PC In the registry do a search for SourcePath and it should point to where your CD possibly is. The recovbery CD you got does contain teh XP CD, thing is, when you have a problem the idea is you insert them one after the other and it will rebuild PC to state it was when you bought it. Hope that helps a little.

Have only done a basic test. Made a bat file, and ran it on pc and it ejected cd and started to the run setup with no issues. The command I used was start /wait install.exe "NMC_Apps" \visio\seup.exe So am guessing that to add this to my unonceex.cmd, i just need to add that line at the end? or does it need to be runceex.cmd style with the reg add key parts as well? Thank you

Some problems with RunOnceEx.cmd
oioldman replied to Adiel's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
On ad-aware, i use a pause so that the windows will open before killing them. You may be trying to kill to early. Also notice that you don't tell it where taskill actually is, your lettig it assume it should know, as not path is used. -
Not sure about how you can keep it. The reason it vanishes though, is down to the TemporaryInternetFiles and cache folder being emptied. Next time you have one look here and you will see it, clear cache and Temp and it's gone.

Thanks fpr headsup. However, i just opened mine, 8.0.478.0 and run the product update from it, and it said i have latest version. Can only find stuff on site about v8. Where you get the info from?

Hello, Apologies if in wrong section, wasn't sure if best placed in here or the Networks one, though it is unattended related. Anyway, My build works fine and apps install no problems. I have my winnt.sif set to ask me for the ComputerName, this i need and works as expected, install stops at this point, i type it in, it carries on as wanted. I would like this to also happen at the Network Components section as well, so i can manually apply a static IP Address. I know about adding the [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=No and adding the params section, which is fine for 1 PC. I have 12 to do and so need to manually do this prefereably during the install, and not at the end. I have tested with, NO - [Networking] section YES - [Networking] - set to NO and YES NOT TRIED - [Networking] - NO . params blank So, would the NOT TRIED, option actually do it or am i going to have to wait and manually do at end. Please don't mention RIS or GHOST etc as these aren't a viable option for many many reasons. Any help, suggestions appreciated.

Help with adding user to WinXP SP2
oioldman replied to mssaad66's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I would suggest that when you get to this point manually type the password in and see if same thing happens. Else, try and use a word like, "password" rather than numbers as your password for the admin user as all seems to look ok. Reading tis url http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/autologon.htm I notice you don't have the line to AutoLogon set, add this and see how you get on. -
Cheers, RogueSpear, knew it existed. That is what i use and works a charm.

StatusBarOther is the culprit. just tested and does exactly as expected 1 - Show status bar 0 - Hide status bar
-
@snelepahant - point 1 you can't do as each time you build it will change as uses clsid. I know a vbs script was posted in here somewhere that does that, and works perfectly. The Go button is done via the internetExplorer|Main settings Others, Sorry, i don't know.
-
Thanks, Will have a go tonight and see how get on.

OK, so if %USERPROFILE% isn't Default User, what is? As it holds the path to Accessibility folder and also Sytem Tools and I need these removed, and all other SET variables do not work. Thanks
-
just for note => %userprofile% relates to the Default User account
-
Thanks for that, helps me. But, set, doesn't show the path for the user "Default User", who is this? as some things in here are used by all users, like Accessibilty and remote assistance.lnk and i can't quite work out how to delete this folder and shortcut. Any assistance, appreciated.

I use this with no problems => REG ADD %KEY%\055 /VE /D "Diskeeper 8.0.478.0" /f REG ADD %KEY%\055 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Diskeeper\DKprofessional.exe /s /a /s /v/qn" /f

Nightmare, Poor kid will have to submit as nobody can pay for the 1000's of lawyers M$ will use to beat him Scary thing with the intellectual property is that M$ haven't written any software ever, as far as my memory serves, they've always bought or borowed code and then produced, so, are they not then commiting intellectual theft themselves?
