  1. Has anyone managed to create and deploy this silently? I'm having trouble with the "Silent install for BlackBerry Desktop Software" doc I found on the blackberry website. I copied the files from the CD over to a network share and notice that I don't have a setup.iss file. I could I be using the wrong files to do this and can someone tell me where I can locate the correct one? ANY responses are appreciated. Thanks
  2. I do have Wise ver5 but haven't taken the time to learn it. If someone has a tutorial on creating packages I'd be glad to take a look at it. thanks
  3. Thanks for the response. I think I see what you're saying: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\TCL] "Driver"="C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\sqlsrv32.dll" "Description"="TCL" "Server"="MyTCLServer" "QuotedId"="No" "AnsiNPW"="No" "Trusted_Connection"="Yes" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ODBC Data Sources] "TCL"="SQL Server" My next question is how to apply this? I added this in SMSI under Runtime Support\SQL Server ODBC 32 Driver as: Data Source Name: TCL Driver Name: SQL Server AnsiNPW=No Database=MyTCLDatabase Description=TCL Driver=sqlsrv32.dll Language=default OemToAnsi=No QuotedId=No Server=MyTCLServer TrustedConnection=Yes UseProcForPrepate=Yes System DSN checked I then repackage, compile, and run the executable but the DSN doesn't appear under ODBC. Am I missing something?
  4. I may need a little more assistance as I was under the impression that the following keys needed modifying: HKLM\Software\ODBC\ODBC.INI HKLM\Software\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ODBC Data Sources HKLM\Software\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\ODBC Drivers HKLM\Software\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\ODBC Driver Name Here's the DSN I need to create: Name: TCL Description: TCL Server: MyTCLServer Windows NT authentication Use ANSI quoted identifiers: No or Unchecked Use ANSI nulls, paddings, and warnings: No or unchecked How do I create this as a System DSN so that it applies to all user systems regardless of who's logged in?? Thanks
  5. Correct. I guess what I need is to be able to add a DSN connection to a SQL database using the SQL driver. My problem is figuring out how to package this as it seems to involve adding registry keys. THe other problem is making sure that this DSN remains available for all users. Any responses are appreciated.
  6. I wasn't sure if I should post here or the Device drivers forum so I apologize in advance if any rules are being broken. I'm wondering if anyone can confirm if it's possible to package and deploy the ODBC data source drivers as an exe or msi file? I have an app that calls for the SQL server data source driver to be installed on all XP client systems. I've tried repackaging the drivers in the application using the SMS installer but haven't had any luck so I'm wondering if it's possible to do this seperately. Any responses are appreciated.
  7. I did a search on trend micro and came up with about 17 hits but none seemed to help as I'm looking for the switches for installing the enterprise version of trend which includes installing the client on client systems. thanks awesome site
  8. I'm currently searching but have yet to come up with any switches for installing the Trend Micro antivirus client. Can anyone point me to a link containing these? tia
  9. Correct. I'm trying to modify an executable and wasn't sure of the re-package option in WinInstall LE. I'm also confused on how or where this app, wininstall le, gets installed. Is this app installed on my XP box or in a central location like a server? What I'm trying to do is repackage a couple of executables for some XP systems. I only have this one XP box and a server if needed. One of the executables in question is Adobe Acrobat Standard. thnks
  10. I stumbled upon this site today and after spending some time reading some of the threads I'm glad I did because it looks to be the life preserver I'm looking for. With this being my first post I ask that the gurus takes it easy on me. I downloaded WinInstall LE 2003 from a thread here with hopes of using it to help me package some of my .exe files, ie photoshop, illustrator, etc. After reading through the tool it appears as though it only packages .msi files. I don't have a problem distributing .msi fiiles via GPO, it's the .exe's that I needing help with. And if there's a way to package and/or distribute these without having to manually write scripts then I'm all for it. My question with WinINstall LE is that I thought it allowed you to repackage .exe files? Maybe I haven't finished reading it but I notice that when I create a package directory it only sees the .msi files in that directory and none of the .exe. Can someone advise on this? thnks Again..diggin' this site...
