Since it has completed all the testing phrases and is final, why is it only released to manufacturer but not both manufacturer and public? That's my point.

Is Vista service pack 2 RTM the SP2 final (6002.18002)? What is the difference between a RTM and a public version?

Don't understand what is the use to have both encoder and decoder and also filter for the same thing, for example MPEG. This is because I don't really understand the difference between filter, encoder, and decoder. I know they must have different functions. If a MPEG filter is needed to play mpg files, why do I need its encoder and decoder?

Yes, I know that files will be lost when its drive is formatted. I think that Recovery DVDs are able to recognize and replace the Windows from which was created. If it works in this way, this means that the same Recovery DVDs cant be used to install twice (dual-Windows) on the same drive or maybe on the same computer. My question was, if I used Recovery DVDs that backed up C: only, will files on other drives be lost?

Urgent! I want to backup my entire C: drive by creating Vista Recovery DVDs using Windows Complete PC Backup as it is the system drive and place which stores all my programs. I want to ask, will my files on other drives (D, E, F) lost after recovering Vista from the Recovery DVDs? I have never used Vista Recovery DVDs before. so I don't understand how Recovery technically works (does it format C and then reinstall from the DVDs?). If I added files to C drive after the creation Recovery DVDs, will these unbackuped files lost after recovering from the Recovery DVDs? If you feel lazy to answer so many questions, just answer the first. It already helps a lot. Thanks!

hi, everyone im trying to make an installer that can prompt for disc 2 to be inserted after finish copying the files (not extracting files from the installer itself. im not trying to make an archive) from disc 1 to continue the copying process. Is there any installer that can make this? How to make this?

can someone explain in details about K-lite mega codec pack install options: default playback only playback essentials lots of stuff ? Thank you beforehand.

It's a bit long so i hope u could spend some time reading this... no software for sony ericsson f305? the model i bought did not come v a software disc. When i connect it to my pc the phone display a list of 3 modes: Phone mode PictBridge Mass Storage I can access PictBridge and Mass Storage but for the Mass Storage, i can only access to the SD card inside it but can't access to the phone internal memory!!! The biggest problem is the phone mode. windows can't install the driver for the phone. even after installing the latest Sony Ericsson PC Suite it's still the same. PC Suite tends to wait for Windows to complete the driver installation before initiating the program. so i guess that PC Suite does not install the driver but just merely a program. Windows can't install S0008 USB Data Modem? The retailer lent me a K770i CD to try to install. so i installed an older PC Suite 4 plus Media Manager and everything in it but still the same. I browsed the CD and saw a Driver folder but Windows can't use the driver files for my F305. obviously the driver files are not for my model. *Sony Ericsson Update Service has no support for F305! I browsed its website and found no support and software for F305. I downloaded themes (.thm) but can't install. It can't play wma files. These unplayable files were encoded using wma9 encoder. A mistake by Sony?

If i were to vote i'll cast firefox a vote based on its performance. but i dun like its style (except theme). dont know how to explain bout "style" but just dont feel comfortable v it. mayb just dont get used to it. 1 "postal" vote for firefox!

Compatibility is such a major issue in Vista: just see this very long list of incompatible apps </sarcasm>. There's all of 2 entries on it (and 2 more with minor issues, and 2 more which have "internal issues" which I wouldn't blame on windows). Wow... so incompatible... Hope Vista Sp2 will do better as it also intends to solve compatibility issues. For business use, XP is still highly recommended. in addition XP has a professionalism look. Meanwhile, XP is till leading in the poll.

vmware is the best of its kind... virtual pc doens't support 64-bit guest.. not sure if now it does... in vmware you can do dozens of configuration so i choose virtual pc - you won't believe this. joking... craps
