  1. what ever connection speed is, divide by 8 and thats your maximum download speed its because Kb and kb/s are not the same thing!
  2. i'll add bzip2, gzip and tar.gz on the weekend i've made my switchless 7zip + icon pack creator now too
  3. dont use caps lock its annoying!
  4. oh right i never use the file manager side of it
  5. they're released so often tho (betas) i've just turned it into an exe file and its 498kb works perfect in my OEM folders
  6. atm i have an if exist, then rename to #+1 but i'm wondering if 7z has a built in function
  7. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=72869
  8. cheers i might make a 7zip cab creator in the week, so it installs 7zip silently then patches it straight after..
  9. see new thread. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=130775 mods, please close this
  10. ok i'm making something that i DON'T want to create incremental backups i want it to create backups named.. backup1.7z then next day create.. backup2.7z... so if backup#.7z exists, create backup#+1.7z instead can anyone help me here?
  11. just make a new disc..
  12. that visualtasktips program is pretty sleek!
  13. i've sorted it now, using a proper icon program, photoshop only saves 1x icon, and not each resolution i've totally finished 7z and rar, i'll do the rest today and upload them any suggestions on colour changes are welcome! they have 16x , 24x, 32x, 48x and 96x, i'll make 2x packs, one without the 96x96 icons to make that one smaller. -edit, font is just tahoma, or manual pixel drawing on the tiny ones!
  14. then you'd could have conflicting file versions which is a no no, unless xpize was to scan and copy an i386 directory and patch the files and output them somewhere else, leaving the original intact
  15. i'd prefer the icons to be sleeker, so i'm making my own ones i've got 48x48 sorted, but when i replace them in reshacker it removes the smaller icons with it.. how do you prevent this, or do you need to add the smaller ones as a new resource? i'd prefer to do this via command line for anyone that wants to do it too, download this.. http://bleddyn.co.uk/forums/msfn/7zicons.7z if you copy the ICOFormat.8bi file to your PHOTOSHOPDIR\Plug-Ins\File Formats\ then open photoshop, you'll be able to save and open .ico files
  16. works with no problems, even if it doesn't have line of sight, its a LOT better than your average tv remote signal very useable on a permanent basis imo! has nice keys too, similar to the coolermaster keyboard
  17. thats bs, for starters mce adds a few services! are you comparing XPsp2 with mce? -you should be it also has a few of xp's hotfixes pre installed
  18. will give a little more oomph for the old pcs!
  19. i know that, you mis intepreted what i said mp3 doesn't go that high what file type is it? what are you playing them in?
  20. 128kb is really bad quality.. use 320vbr instaed.. use eac to encode your mp3s
  21. personally, i use the $OEM$ method, look on the msfn unattended section for the $OEM$ section have a GOOD read over it so you get the concept. i make 7zip switchless installers, have a look on the forums for '7z switchless installer' (so they're just one exe file for each program) and call them in 'runoncex' from 'cmdlines.txt'
  22. to get a reg file, you find it in the registry what you want to copy back in during install so.. start, run regedit (press enter) 95% of the time the serial will just be as text in the registry, so press F3 (to search) and type in a portion of the key once its found it, right click the 'KEY' (folder) in regedit, and choose 'export' this will copy the key to wherever you save it. press f3 again just incase its saved in HKCU and HKLM (CU is for the Current User, and LM is for the Local Machine) because some programs save to both the user AND to the machine (so all users can use it)
  23. thats not cheeky, cheeky is when people with 2 posts say my god, takes so long between releases, what is the hold up these guys give up so much of their time, money and effort into their releases, to name the big guns, xpero, nuhi, ryan, sigi and paul we salute you
