cubalibre00 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Hi to all,I tried to find answers from this forum and from the Media Center forum, but unfortunately I didn't found them.Someone can help me ?1)Why if on nLite I decide to keep Media Center, but I want to delete DOTNETFX folder with the nLite option "removing Framework", it removes the NETFX folder ?MCE need NETFX folder not all two, or not ?It's a bug/limitation ?2)Why nLite don't put the two string medctr = on andnetfx = on if detect the option "keep Media Center" ?If not, we install XP Pro from a MCE installation.Or better, nLite need a new option ?3)I slipstreamed a MCE 2005 installation, but when I start MCE from Start->All Program->Accessories->Media Center an error appear :ehshell.exe error, DBGENG.DLL not found. If I put the DBGENG.DLL from the original installation to the ehshell.exe directory of the slipstreamed MCE 2005, MCE works fine. What I must to keep into the slipstreaming process to avoid this problem ?Thank you to all, from AlessandroP.S:Sorry for my bad English
nuhi Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 1. Yes Framework will be protected in next version2. Ok then it will be like that3. Save Dump Utility, so seems that this one should be protected as well.Thank you, great post.
Innocent Devil Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Side Request::To integrate Rollup Update 2 to MCE 2005 via nLiteAlso make nLite to recognize MCElike cubalibre00 said keep netfx and medctr folders in cmpnents if media center componet is no removed and remove tabletpc folder (vice versa for tabletpc component)
bledd Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 also, if keeping MCE, all media player options should be hidden too
nuhi Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 @bledd, ah true.@Innocent Devil, don't tell me that you see tabletpc and media center folders in Directories like separate removal option from normal components?Step by step we'll make that MCE support even before I get trial version.
cubalibre00 Posted August 14, 2006 Author Posted August 14, 2006 .......3. Save Dump Utility, so seems that this one should be protected as well.......Hi Nuhi,it works well with your suggestion.Thank you a lot,Alessandro
jimmsta Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I used nLite to slipstream a MCE DVD from a DELL system... Media Center WOULD NOT WORK until after I re-installed .NET v1.0, v1.1 SP1, and v2.0, followed by the Rollup 2 package. After installing the Rollup 2 package, all was fine. I was very worried there for a second.

I was very worried there for a second. Was that MCE 2005 or 2004? As long as I know MCE 2005 doesn't install well if the framework 1.0 is removed from the DVD components folder (there's a MCE component called SONIC BURNING ENGINE that gives an error during the setup if the framework is not present).
