That’s after a lot “trail´n´crash”, I would not call it stable not would I call the performance high. I wanted to have multiseat computer systems but hooked off when I saw that most directX 3D apps don’t work well. Oh no you just said that something on your PC crashes! Here come the wave of people posting that your rig must suck because their PC never crashes when that do that (but maybe that only works if you say that about an MS product) but if you think VMWare is only for test environments and such it will surprise you. Sure you'll take a performance hit but its defiantly come a long way from the old barely qualifying as a functional program that people often associate with full OS emulators. In the end, you get what you pay for which is why VMWare is free (IMO)

Replacing the Internet Explorer "Find Files and Folders" Sea
PC_LOAD_LETTER replied to Ambassador's topic in Windows XP
i doubt you could outright replace it. best option you will probably get is to hide it and use an alternate program (bonus point to anyone that would know how to ''hook' it to the F3 key in explorer or startmenu shorcut) -i know it can be done -Directory Opus does it and i think copernic does too This Looks like the author statred with 98 search in mind but it may have more fetures than your looking for: http://www.mythicsoft.com/agentransack/Pag...age=screenshots or there are commercial options: http://www.copernic.com/ http://www.gpsoft.com.au/Intro.html -

Theres a stick in this forum that has all the updates http://www.msfn.org/board/Windows_2000_all_t58360.html Personally id use WUD http://wud.jcarle.com/ MSFN also has a forum for WUD specific issues http://www.msfn.org/board/Windows_Updates_...oader_f147.html as for the differences in numbers im sure thats due to some people counting/not counting updates to updates Example If KB12345 is an update to KB12234 which was an update to KB11156 is that 1 update or 3? the W2k list on Jcarles site was updated last patch tuesday so it likely has all but maybe 1 or 2 if there have been any since patch tuesday Oh and BTW, in your quest to 'have every updates released' please keep in mind that things like internet explorer/windows media player cannot be rolled back to their previous version if it was slipstreamed into the install CD.

usually CPU upgrades arent that plug and play. my guess would be your board doesnt recognize that CPU speed (at the time the board was manufactured that particular CPU speed likely didnt exist) and if it did, it doesnt seem that your BIOS has support for it plug the 1.7 in and look for a BIOS update (check Acers website) I would expect a post/blink code or something from the board -are there no post beeps or lights blinking in a sequence (kinda like morse code)-the lights might not be visible with the laptop all back together the three lock lights staying on might be a diag code itself or it might just be the system bombing too post back with the model # of your travelmate and ill try to locate a manual for it. (or you can try http://www.eserviceinfo.com or google) if we can find a real tech manual for the thing we can find out if that code means anything as for your drivers, id say leave them alone drivers cannot affect this problem until the hard drive is accessed and the OS begins to boot.

Replacing the Internet Explorer "Find Files and Folders" Sea
PC_LOAD_LETTER replied to Ambassador's topic in Windows XP
just open search and after the dog does his stupid little animation click 'change preferences' then 'turn off animated character' then 'change prefences again and pick 'change files and folder search behavior' and select advanced you can also turn indexing off to if you want. I think thats the closest you can get to a 98 style search without adding other software -

get FFDshow http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow you may already have it and not know about it (usually bundled in those oh-so-wonderful codec packs) then run the configuration utility, look for the miscellaneous category and check/uncheck flip video

-
umm no not really. my guess would be you have no updates shown or that interface doesnt show slipstreamed updates. i could have sworn it did. you should just load the driver for vmwares ethernet card http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_ty...ities/V4.51.zip virtualbox has that included in the download

in regedit, right click, select New and then Expandable String Value type in the name of the field (UnlockerAssistant) then modify its value to %ProgramFiles%\Unlocker\UnlockerAssistant.exe -H when you export it regedit exports it as hex to retain the data exactly as you entered it
-
I think if you use an enviroment var in a run entry it has to be an expandable string Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 "UnlockerAssistant"=hex(2):25,00,50,00,72,00,6f,00,67,00,72,00,61,00,6d,00,46,\ 00,69,00,6c,00,65,00,73,00,25,00,5c,00,55,00,6e,00,6c,00,6f,00,63,00,6b,00,\ 65,00,72,00,5c,00,55,00,6e,00,6c,00,6f,00,63,00,6b,00,65,00,72,00,41,00,73,\ 00,73,00,69,00,73,00,74,00,61,00,6e,00,74,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,65,00,20,00,\ 2d,00,48,00,00,00

PC_LOAD_LETTER replied to edie209's topic in Web Development (HTML, Java, PHP, ASP, XML, etc.)
PHPs PDF Functions are not part of PHP and have to be installed (because their licensing conflicts with php) so getting your host to install them isnt easy I personally use http://html2fpdf.sourceforge.net/ the documentation sucks but basically you just add a header and a footer to your existing php code that makes the page into a pdf file -
has anyone else had cookie issues on this site? This has happen to me on 2 separate PCs (work and home) using Firefox 2.0.0.8 heres what happened just a few minutes ago: I was logged in and replied to a topic.
