  1. GeForce Fx 5800 Ultra is what I would get (based on choices from the poll). I've had two nVidia cards (Upgraded to GeForce4 128MB Ti4600 free, long story short: Went to buy over the phone with comp company, over three days they changed the price three times. Complained about how price went from 150 to 250 over the three days and got free upgrade.) Btw, ATI has been caught messing with their cards for overclocking and other such incidents. In short, lying about their results. Never had a problem with it, and I run on WinME. BSoD's in WinME are rare/never happen for me really. That's how "often" I see them.
  2. English here, though I can speak some german, french, spanish, latin, VB, VC++, HTML, Java, JavaScript... ...*grin*
  3. Hey what about "Confused" or "In the process of changing..."? *Snicker*
  4. Haha congrats to you dude. I'm 24/m.
  5. LMAO Wow. It took almost a month for someone to get that! I gotta work on my jokes, ah well, at least my pickup lines work better! Just two more till we have enough for the calendar!! w00t!
  6. FFX2 has THREE endings, thus why you have percentages. 1. Basic ending. 2. Good ending. 65+% (I think..) 3. Perfect ending. 100%
  7. I actually liked Final Fantasy 2(US-SNES)/4's ending. Went into depth on all characters and what happened after the final boss and everything. It was superb.
  8. By Zelda, do you actually mean Link from the Legend of Zelda?
  9. About.com Source RIAA Claims Music On Car Radios Meant Only For Original Vehicle Owner! The Recording Industry Association of America announced today it would be expanding its crackdown on copyright infringement by suing family members, hitchhikers and carpoolers. Lawyers for the RIAA maintain that the radio in each car was never meant to be listened to by anyone else except the original owner of the vehicle. Therefore, any additional passengers who listen to music on the radio in another individual's car are doing so illegally and without the express permission of the copyright holders of the respective songs that are broadcast. RIAA attorneys were preparing to go to Federal District courts across the country to have subpoenas issued to every car maker in America in the hopes of forcing them to disclose the names and addresses of all purchasers from the last 20 years. "We think this is a no brainer," said an RIAA spokesperson who declined to be identified. "These drivers have been illegally sharing music on their radios and their passengers have been getting a free ride for way too long," he continued. Legal representatives for the RIAA also warned that they would especially be targeting the "big fish" like charter bus drivers and RV owners who blatantly turn up the radio volume allowing others to hear. In addition, RIAA lawyers said they were hoping to get a court order to exhume the bodies of Scottish physicist James Clerk-Maxwell, who developed the theory of electromagnetic waves and Guglielmo Marconi, who discovered and harnessed wireless radio in order to sue both corpses for unfair business practices.
  10. SW:KOTOR had problems, even my friends who have it had tons of issues with it. Check for product updates/pathces on their website. www.lucasarts.com There was a critical save issue. You had to start a new game, then go to Load and load your last savegame.
  11. Norton is pretty buggy, but I know the free ZoneAlarm firewall stops applications from accessing the internet and is password protected. Outpost Pro offers a lot more security in blocking applications in my opinion, and it too has password protection.
  12. 8. Remove all the chips and sell them to third graders to place on the chairs of kids they don't like. Hah! I did something similar. I sold old 386 RAM to some of my college buddies and stuff as keychains. They were all "THAT IS SO COOL I WANT ONE!!"
  13. Since the votes for females is currently seven. If we get five more girls here we'd have enough to start an Msfn Calendar Girls section. >;D *lol*
  14. Was always my favorite show until they removed it from late night Cartoon Network. (BAH HOW DARE THEY!) Space Ghost Coast To Coast rocks though, regardless. Hard to find fans of the series who wanna chat about it. Brak and Zorak.. Ahh, the good old days. Why, I think I might have some SGCTC on an old vhs. For Becca:
  15. Even that IE option would be good. After all there are reg tweaks to remove the "Reset Internet Options..." and the "Internet Options..." from the Tools menu. Outpost Pro ( www.agnitum.com ) would be a good firewall to use to control the access. You can set it up to block Msn Messenger from connecting to the net, so even if she downloads it and installs it, you can still make sure she never gets online with it.
  16. And why wouldn't they be, Hydencity? Smart = sexy. ;D
  17. Male here too, heh. Even more frightening, currently single. *lmfao* I think it's cool seeing girls here and all. Hell I have better conversations with the girls than I do most guys.
  18. I would try and install a firewall and add the Msn and Hotmail sites to the block list. Or you can use IE and out the following into the Restricted Sites list: Tools > Internet Options > Security > Restricted Sites Click on Sites... then add the list below, and more if you want. *.messenger.msn.com *.www.hotmail.com *.hotmail.com *.msn.com
  19. DirectX handles graphics and such. Mainly used with gaming applications. If you installed the patch then obviously you needed it and it will ensure that your computer is one step closer to being secure.
  20. I would try and run Scanregw.exe to check for any errors first. Also go to http://www.rosecitysoftware.com/Reg1Aid/ and try using Registry First Aid to check for errors.
  21. Agreed with crck3rz, make sure it can be dialup friendly.
  22. First heard on Fox5DC www.fox5dc.com Source: TechWeb Security experts have discovered what is believed to be the world's first computer "worm" aimed at mobile phones. The worm does not appear to pose an immediate threat to cellphone users, but it suggests that mobile phones are much more vulnerable to virus-writers and hackers than previously thought. Vincent Gullato, vice-president at security group Network Associates, said the discovery suggested that "we've now entered into an era in which we could very well see more cellphone threats in the future". The malicious code, dubbed "cabir", is a worm that replicates on the Symbian operating system used in several brands of mobile phones, such as Nokia, Siemens and Panasonic. The worm was anonymously sent to experts in various countries, but has not been detected circulating among cellphone users. It propagates through the "Bluetooth" wireless technology, repeatedly sending itself to any Bluetooth-enabled device that it can find, regardless of the type. The worm will not damage a phone or its software but shortens the device's battery life by constantly scanning for other Bluetooth-enabled devices. The worm appears to have been developed by an international group of hackers known as 29A, who specialise in creating viruses and try to show "that no technology is reliable and safe from their attacks". Anti-virus experts have for some years been highlighting the vulnerability of modern PC-like mobile phones. Mobile makers have been loath to acknowledge the vulnerability of their devices. If the virus succeeds in penetrating the phone it writes "Caribe" on the screen and is activated every time the phone is turned off and on. Mr Gullato said the good news was that for the virus to spread, cellphone users would have to accept wireless signals being beamed to the device.
  23. I went through a startup application list for her and removed about a paragraphs worth of items.
  24. Agreed, the 101101001 background makes one have to squint.
  25. Just because there were no reports of errors on the drive, does not mean that it's error free. When I had the hard drive failing, I had no bad clusters or anything. When I used the applications suggested above (I had some on a cd provided from the company I got my pc from) it found errors. Not everything is foolproof, especially with MS products.
