1. http://www.zeldacentral.net/download/zelda...commercial.mpeg "It's really rad!" I like how it says 'Legend of Zelda Sold Separately' on the title screen. Also, don't forget that your parents help you set it up (because what, the 3 cords are THAT confusing?). Heh... I think they should have gotten poindexter to push his glasses up a few more times... If that doesn't make you want to rush out to buy The Legend of Zelda, this one will... http://www.x-entertainment.com/downloads/c...cials/zelda.wmv - this guy's career couldn't have gotten much better after this commercial... "Now you're playing with power!"
2. I'm scanning www.microsoft.com for a download.
3. As said with the download, "VMM32 was constructed under the advice and guidance of multiple PC technicians under a STABLE Windows ME OS. By downloading and/or using you agree to the disclaimer." If you like, look into upgrading to DOS 8.0. I do know that DOS has a few minor bugfixes in it.
4. The fewer files you have to load, the better your system will run. That is the entire purpose of the VMM32.VXD file. A process to build your own VMM32.VXD file is being worked on currently.
5. Really? I just went to the very page and the picture is titled "georgelaura135.jpg" Picture CNN News Page that features the very picture. Maybe they changed it afterwards, but it's hard to say.
6. I think his parents sued the kids (their parents) who posted that video on the net... They did. Check the articles with it.
7. Tarun, just for clarification: you say "adding -ANY- WinME file into the Unofficial Service Pack is not a problem". Right? You would want to look at your License agreement and local intellectual property law. The best way to handle this situation would be to contact a lawyer admitted to practice law in your area and ask about this or you could indepentently research this topic.
8. I'd be willing to put money on that. If you want try copying the CAB folder to the path mentioned above and then give it another shot.
9. me works just fine...till you try to use it....maybe your a rarity Been running it for over four years now with nothing major that I couldn't easily fix.

11. Explain how it is illegal. As far as the license issues go, to my knowledge there is no such harm using those files, as you have a Windows OS license and it is simply software. Therefore you already technically own these software titles and if you were to begin using the ones from Windows ME it would be the same as updating your software. Nothing illegal in that. Intel makes the defrag utility (not Windows or MS) and everything that people want to add already exist in Windows. No one has to pay to buy just Scandisk or the defrag utilities, as they come with all Windows. So I would see no harm in using the Windows ME versions, as I would personally view it as being like freeware in a sense.
12. I've used Registry First Aid to clean up my registry, it also offers to compact the registry as well. It does just what it says and my system is faster after using it, so hey, whatever gets the job done well.
13. azagahl is dead on. That is the default path for those CAB files, and it sounds to me as though you have a custom type install where the CAB files were placed in a different directory. When I do not do a custom install of Windows after formatting, the CAB files will be in C:\Windows\Options\Cabs\, however when I allow the process to be automatic, it installs my CAB files to C:\CABS\ It really varies depending on who made your computer (IE: Gateway, Dell, etc) even though it should be universal. There are ways to change where the default CAB folder is without hurting your computer and it involves a little registry editing.
14. plonkeroo: The VMM32.VXD came from a stable and dependable Windows ME computer. (Quiet to the hecklers on this, ME is stable if you're smart.) The use of the VMM32.VXD adds a slight amount of stability and overall system performance improvement to the system itself. Gape: Basically, as I'm sure you've read you know that VMM32.VXD consists of certain files depending on the OS. Windows 98 uses: vcomm.vxd vdmad.vxd configmg.vxd vdd.vxd vmouse.vxd ntkern.vxd vflatd.vxd Windows ME uses: vcomm.vxd vdmad.vxd configmg.vxd vdd.vxd vmouse.vxd ntkern.vxd ios.vxd vflatd.vxd Source thread I pretty much followed the steps found here. Just go to Procedure, use the files listed above and you can construct one quite easily. Or, you can simply use the one linked above in the previous posting. I've also asked one of my tech support friends to help construct a better, easier way to rebuld your VMM32.VXD file.
15. Haha, the remakes were amusing!
16. You missed http://www.fat-pie.com/salad3.htm Was posted as a jpg... They need to stop making flash so easy for everyone. -.-
17. I just did a quick Google for "Copy Protect CD" and after checking some of the links, this one looked best to me. Google link Best result after searching
18. Should be for all Windows. I use WinME and it's rare I ever crash.
19. I actively develop Visual Basic 6 applications. Best thing to get is Inno Setup and I use Inno Setup Tool to generate my scripts rapidly. Nowdays, MSVBVM60.DLL is common on machines so I personally do not see any real reason to make it a required file in the setups. When you use added items in VB, it adds an OCX. You will want to include that with your program distribution for the best results. To find out all of the OCX files you're using in your project, do the following... Under General, right click and choose "Components..." Check off "Selected Items Only". Highlight each of your OCX files and note the location, these are the files you will need to include. Example picture attached. If you want you can PM me and I can help you out via a messenger if need be. I hope this helps!
20. Supported operating systems: Windows 95, OSR 2.x, 98, 98 SE, ME. Applies also to Windows NT 4.0, 2000 and XP, but only for 32-bit DLLs. Open a notepad and enter the following code: REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\AlwaysUnloadDll] @="1" File --> Save As... --> DLLTweak.reg Double click and say Yes to apply. It's that simple.
21. The file is also "Optimized for WMP9". Btw, I opened it in a new tab via Firefox and it worked fine.
22. I was getting 6.9x for Firefox and 5.7 for IE. This is common though from what I've read on many forums. I'm not sure if the higher or lower speeds are better. One would naturally assume that lower is better. It's not an official test page, but something made up by a user; so going on this I wouldn't say it's completely safe to say your results would be official.
23. Just switched to Firefox, tweaked, and love. Never going back to IE except when I want to manually check for Windows Updates. Btw, Chromedit is really great for tweaking Firefox. :D
24. If you feel comfortable with tweaking, I've gathered some of the best tweaks and even a few things to install to Firefox to help with tweaking here. Chromedit is a great little add-on, allows you to easily edit and add many features. If you need any help, you know you'll find it here and on the DjLizard.net forums too.
25. Perhaps the Windows 9x Service Pack will be better suited for your needs?
