  1. I mya just have to, though I admit that'll be my last resort.
  2. Checked them all. Nothing. Shouldn't be THAT hard to find.
  3. 1.) I run Windows ME and have found my system to be much more stable and faster when using the VMM32.VXD 2.) That has indeed been confirmed as a bug on Windows 9x, it all depends on the hardware. 3.) I have checked with many PC techs and asked on several forums about the Infinisource website; it is correct and reliable. 4.) If you are referring to WinPatcher, that would indeed be a creation of mine to help automate the process if anyone chooses not to use VMM32.VXD (which I do not recommend unless you are experiencing problems) 5.) Another file that I constructed with the help of several PC techs, however I do not have a Windows 98 machine around and thus am unable to create one for 9x versions. The ME version provided will not work on Windows 9x machines as it asks for MS-DOS 8.0. 6 and 7 will be left for Gape since he's constructing the SP. VMM32 is a good file to have in your system and running if it is constructed properly and without bugs (As some Windows OS' have issues with the creation of this file). You can also check this link where I asked about this instance. DjLizard is a certified PC technician and he definitely knows his stuff.
  4. LMFAO! Can i preorder 3 calendars? I wasn't even registered when you posted that lol. We have 15 now. Ladies, your pictures please. ;D More like how to get bargains on E-Bay. Best products on qvc.com, etc. ;D Nah, I razz people all the time and all in good fun and humor.
  5. Might want a spellchecker too. "Dektop PC" Just razzin ya. ;D Hopefully I can get Stargate Season 2 on DVD, some audio cds, and maybe a new pc.
  6. Nice find. Many noticible fixes as well (to me at least). Do they keep a changelog anywhere?
  7. About four or five days. Even went a few months with only four hours of sleep a night.. well.. day really.. 12pm-4pm.
  8. They have a way to go to fix that too. lordicarus said he's "in the groove" so perhaps he can get this fixed. I noticed Jason and others suggested methods but no one seems to know the exact cause. I'd figure it's not that hard to track down. It's bound to be related to the drawing of the buttons at the bottom of AIM. In fact, when I upgraded and found it didn't work well on AIM 5.5.3595 which they recommended, I installed 5.5.3598 with AIM AdHack. Removes ads, feels stable though I'm watching for problems. Thus far I like it. Found it on www.etplanet.com for version 5.5.3599, but seems to work just great with 5.5.3598. Especially since 5.5.3599 is just the business version. Just hope you ran Ad-Aware and SpyBot after installing. I've noted SpyBot catches a few pieces of spyware that Ad-Aware misses with AIM 5.5's installs.
  9. This has been discussed in this thread and many others. Remember, the Search feature is your friend. Article on how to rebuild VMM32.VXD A utility for those who do not wish to use VMM32.VXD titled WinPatcher. Basically scans the system and VMM folders and allows extraction of the files from the CAB files.
  10. Indeed it does sound like your VMM32.VXD had problems when it was built during install. You may want to try and reconstruct it.
  11. I use CdEx to turn it back into a wav, then turn it back into an mp3 at the bitrate I want. Download.com has CdEx available there.
  12. Have you tried InnoSetup with ISTool? Inno Setup ISTool
  13. Thanks for the info on my site. Works beautifully on Firefox. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I'll fix that soon. I've looked at your log. If you're fond of Google Toolbar, keep using it. Though I HIGHLY recommend you use Firefox. Stops all the bad popups/spyware/adware, etc. R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = That is the only entry I see that you can safely remove. The rest are Google toolbar. Go under Start > Run > type: MsConfig Under the Startup tab you can safely uncheck the following. [TaskMonitor] C:\WINDOWS\taskmon.exe [systemTray] SysTray.Exe [irMon] IrMon.exe [CriticalUpdate] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\wucrtupd.exe -startup [schedulingAgent] mstask.exe [MsnMsgr] "C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\MsnMsgr.Exe" /background MsnMsgr - Msn Messenger can be disabled from Windows startup by going to: Tools > Options > General tab > Unchecking the "Automatically run Messenger when I log on to Windows". Better to disable and run after Windows boots up. Systray - SYSTRAY.EXE - System Tray Services. Provides the Volume Control, PC Card Status, Power Management and other icons that reside in the System Tray (see here). SYSTRAY.EXE may be disabled if none of these services are required. It will launch as and when required if you later enable the icons. If you need these items they're available via Start -> Settings -> Control Panel Only required if you use the items mentioned in the above entry. Irmon - System Tray access to infra-red devices. Not required unless you use infra-red devices. Only required if you use infra-red devices. CriticalUpdate - MS Windows Critical Update Notification. If you want to keep Windows up-to-date, check the Windows Update site. Not required. Taskmonitor and SchedulingAgent work with the defrag utility, tracking how often you use an application to determine where it belongs on the drive. These are not needed due to the high speeds of hard drives (generally 7200RPM). Can safely be removed. If you uninstall Google Toolbar, it should remove the following entries: O2 - BHO: Google Toolbar Helper - {AA58ED58-01DD-4d91-8333-CF10577473F7} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar1.dll O3 - Toolbar: &Google - {2318C2B1-4965-11d4-9B18-009027A5CD4F} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar1.dll O8 - Extra context menu item: &Google Search - res://C:\PROGRAM FILES\GOOGLE\GOOGLETOOLBAR1.DLL/cmsearch.html O8 - Extra context menu item: Cached Snapshot of Page - res://C:\PROGRAM FILES\GOOGLE\GOOGLETOOLBAR1.DLL/cmcache.html O8 - Extra context menu item: Similar Pages - res://C:\PROGRAM FILES\GOOGLE\GOOGLETOOLBAR1.DLL/cmsimilar.html O8 - Extra context menu item: Backward Links - res://C:\PROGRAM FILES\GOOGLE\GOOGLETOOLBAR1.DLL/cmbacklinks.html O8 - Extra context menu item: Translate into English - res://C:\PROGRAM FILES\GOOGLE\GOOGLETOOLBAR1.DLL/cmtrans.html Aside from all of that, everything looks to be in perfect working order. Try to disable the applications mentioned, it's possible one of them may have a memory leak. Also, have you tried to boot up into Safe Mode?
  14. When you CTRL + ALT + DELETE, kill the following applications: Msnmsgr - Microsoft's MSN Messenger. Don't need to have this automatically run at system startup. If you need these items they're available via Start -> Settings -> Control Panel Irmon - System Tray access to infra-red devices. Not required unless you use infra-red devices
  15. It still has a lot of bugs too, and the download was disabled to fix the installer. -.-

I believe it messes with your Internet speed and such.

This can be fixed using LSPFix. I believe it will automatically appear under the Remove section. If it does not, you check off "I know what I'm doing" and select ONLY the xfire_lsp_7651.dll file. Then you'd click Finish >> and you'd have your broken Internet fixed. LSPFix can be found here. If you have further concerns, please visit my website and you can also post your Hijack This log at the following thread.
  18. Source: AIMutation I'm very happy to FINALLY announce the release of aiMutation 1.3.1! Just to note, this version of aiMutation is compatible with all versions of AIM up to version 5.5.3595(Which according to the AOL Ftp server is the latest OFFICIAL version of the AIM 5.5.x series) I know you all are mad that I missed the deadline that I created... well to explain a little... and this text below can also be found in the release notes on the sourceforge website.... On the Delay of 1.3.1 --------------------- We apologize for taking so long for this release, it has been a very bumpy ride for the developers. We have all had our bits of time where we have been completely unavailable to programming, due to moving, changing jobs, school work, regular work, or even just completely personal reasons. We apologize for it taking so long. To also note on the issue of the "Actual Release Date" not being made by a few days, I was out of town for Thanksgiving break from school, and I expected to have access to a computer where I could upload the new release, but I didn't have that access. Future aiMutation 1.x Releases ------------------------------ aiMutation 1.3.1 Will not in fact be the last version of the aiMutation 1.x series as has been previously stated. In finishing this release we have figured out a number of things that are related to making aiMutation function properly with AIM 5.9 and we will most likely be releasing another version of 1.x that will include AIM 5.9 support. Future aiMutation 2.x Releases ------------------------------ aiMutation 2.x will be developed full force until the point where we can get out an alpha version for people to play with. In spare time, the 1.x version compatible with AIM 5.9 will get worked on by lordicarus. There will be an update on http://www.aiMutation.com in the near future explaining the future updates and what is coming. Keep watching the website because there will be some news coming soon about the next 1.x release as well as the 2.0 alpha! Changelog for aiMutation 1.3.1 ------------------------------ Fixed "Get More Skins" menu item to link to the skins page on aiMutation.com Fixed a trivial text bug in the about window Added IM From box to allow skinning Fixed Bug with the IM From box displaying in the wrong place Fixed IM Toolbar Skinning Problem(Skins need to be updated - See included get8 skin) Fixed access to the log manager from IM windows Fixed(kinda) The problem with New IM's not having labels on their appropriate tabs Fixed Real Time Logging(Only up to AIM 5.5.3595) Fixed Tab New Row Problem Added better support for AIM version Checking(See IsAim55 function in source) Fixed a few minor drawing issues with the buddy list Fixed problem with Log directories not being found and not being created due to the ":" in the path So enjoy everyone...

(networking) label switched path - (LSP) The specific path through a network that a datagram follows, based on its MPLS labels. Definition This deals with Winsock. Here's the common problem X-Fire causes. O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'xfire_lsp_7651.dll' missing

  21. If you use Hijack This, I'd like to see your log. If you don't have Hijack This you can download off of my website. Just post your log here and I'll see what's going on with your system.
  22. I prefer ConTEXT, best editor I've ever used.
  23. Incorrect. Even if you do not use IE you are still vulnerable. What it says in the program is incorrect, because if you go to a favorite through a folder in Explorer, it uses IE. IE is rooted all through of Windows.
  24. Windows ME with IE 6.0? That is correct. As you of course know I'm on Windows ME and running IE 6.0 with SP1 and all the other junk filled fixes. I may just revert to IE 5.5 now that I use Firefox. Annd, it fails to revert. Heh. "Uninstall failed." Though I'll recommend BugOff from Merijn's site. Merijn's Download Page
