It's basically one of the Windows XP Bliss desktop wallpaper with the Windows 98SE Service Pack 2.1a on it.
-
I believe this should have been posted in the Tech News section. Nice find, regardless.

Actually i have used vista quite a lot, i am using it in class right now, because we have to know the differences in certain networking objectives, like setting it up for a domain and stuff. Have you seen the list of incompatibilities for vista, its gotten huge! Probably not much different from when XP/SP2 came out. Definitely worth loving Vista should Norton be listed.
-
And you've used Vista how much? From what I saw in the office, very very little. You were also using a beta, last I saw. Vista has greatly improved in their reliability and stability. Norton/Symantec offered to help with Vista's security; which is funny. They can't even do a proper anti virus, what makes them think they can help an OS?

Yeah, the boot screen is rather... boring. The 98SE SP2.1a replaces the boot screen to something nice. Can XPize eventually do the same?

That codebox has no line returns like the others do.

Everything looks fine here at first glance. Your codebox has blank lines.

Ouch, Adobe? Use Foxit! -
Which is unnecessary and does not need to be done. You can simply use PageDefrag to defragment the page file and other locked system files.

xper already added a mod where the users control this themselves. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=UserCP&CODE=04

The key problem with CCleaner is that bugs often go ignored for a very long time (many months) and often are not even fixed. -

I used Firetune and am a speedfreak. All my pages load in the blink of an eye. -
I used that on mine, as I have 2GB RAM and a 3.4GHz P4 with Hyper Threading, 512 was too low for Photoshop and a lot of games.

I distribute an All-in-one tool pack, called the Anti-Malware Pack. -

I'm unsure why the tooltips.reg file you posted has contents as follows: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Visu-alEffects\TooltipAnimation] "SetWindowPos"="HwndInsertAfter, Hwnd_Top" "SetForegroundWindow"=dword:00000001 When it should be this: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\TooltipAnimation] "SetWindowPos"="HwndInsertAfter, Hwnd_Top" "SetForegroundWindow"=dword:00000001 I checked this in both Notepad and Notepad++.
-
Set your Windows pagefile to "Let Windows Manage" and you won't have a single problem; it works efficiently.
-
Your posted registry file may have a small issue. \Visu-alEffects\ should be \VisualEffects\ Just an FYI.

This site is very useful.

Forums are better because all that would happen in IRC is having the same questions asked over and over; including unrelated items. The forums therefore prevail as a grand source of vital information because it can be a more permanent source and any user with a question can search through to find an answer. If they have a question that has not been answered of need clarification on it, then they can post and it will be seen by the many forum users, as opposed to a few IRC users. Accuracy can also be shown moreso on the forums than on IRC and the forums help prevent a lot of problems from coming into play that could and more than likely would arise in IRC.

This is my favorite Norton/Symantec program: SymNRT aka Norton Removal Tool.
