  1. Yep it is netlogon, causes quite a few problems specially with .NET (Hanged), Office (can't customize anything but office still installed) and some other apps. Myself and nuhi have been working with this problem... it was either Netword DDE or Netlogon and ended up being netlogon. We was just waiting for this to be confirmed so we must thankyou . You've probably saved Nuhi time as he was going to test it to see if he got the same results as me, much appreciated but... we don't know if it is just x64, i havent checked to see what happens if netlogon is removed on x86 as i only use x64. Thanks Again, Liam
  2. Your Welcome, Glad its working for everyone else too
  3. Hi, ill just get straight to the point All i am doing is exctracting my Vista ISO, integrating the updates, and making another ISO. nothing removed just updates added. Would it be best to "Just apply the changes" or "Rebuild". Just wondering because i normally rebuild Thx in advance, liam
  4. as Nuhi said, when on the component removal page at the bottom click Protect.. and type in wer.dll is also needed for the "Compatibility" tab you can remove the example there if you want, but protect those files and everything will work
  5. When i was on XP i didnt even wanna upgrade to Vista at all!, I would NEVER install an OS without using either vlite or nlite. Recently i have done a permanent upgrade to Vista Ultimate x64 and i think its great (sucks without vlite, cheers Nuhi) its much more responsive and ive shockingly found less errors than in XP (that's probably because i integrate like 100+ updates) but most importantly it feels and looks alot more graphical. ALOT of people like vista and would never go back to XP, im one of them. nLite & vLite are great apps!
  6. hmm you remove the same stuff as i do except 1)I have 47 updates already integrated into my Vista x64 install 2) Kept Components Kept Diagnostics Performance Counters Reliability and Performance Monitor So try keeping them as i had problems before when i removed them Tweaks DEP (Data Execution Prevention) = Default EDIT: RAM amount is fine NOTE: Check your drivers are correct
  7. sometimes i get this. alot on vlite though, i just change the priority of nlite to "Below Normal" (on the screen where it is actually doing all the work) but only when im doing something on the computer, if i leave the computer alone i put it at a higher priority until i need to use it.
  8. Hi i just just wondering if you could attempt to do some of these requests please, it would be much appecriated. 1. Add a Filter option to only show Post-SP2 updates on XP x64 2. Updates for Office 2007 3. Updates for Vista x64 thanks
  9. What causes this problem? The problem is caused when "Error Reporting" is removed using vLite, the fix below does not bring back "Error Reporting" its just the files so it wont slow down your PC. How can it be Fixed Download the Tool below which checks if the file exists and you can select what files you want - does NOT require installing, just app in a folder so can be deleted after. So 100% no junk. Also NO restart or installation of the tool required. Saves reinstalling Windows too!!! Download Link > Link Removed Problems? Any problems with this application i have made report to ME and not nuhi, any problems with vlite then report to Nuhi. If you have any suggestions for this program, feel free to contact me. Also try just get the files you need from the "Files" folder and put them into your System32 folder but please report the error to me Thanks. Info about the tool / How the tool works The program only works on vista for obvious reasons and automatically detects if you are running x64 or x86. If one of the files already is there then the fix button associated with that file is disabled. Once "Fix" is clicked, the associated file will be copied to the system32 folder and should change to "File Not Found!" to "Working!" and next time you load the program is will detect the file. It also says next to it what that file fixes. Also once you click "Fix" the program will check if its copied correctly, after you've done everything you want with it then you can just delete the program as it doesn't need installing or uninstalling, think of it as a portable program. Also once clicked it is normal for the buttons to disable (grey out) Enjoy.
  10. it is wer.dll and nothing to do with hotfixes added Read Here

    some goals

well it depends on what you use your computer for, so my question is.... what is your computer used for? i.e. gaming, internet, networking, working.... be quite specific, this is so we give better suggestions of what we can remove or not
  12. firsty try making ISO and then use the burn image options, try burning at a slower speed (8x always works for me), make sure your CD/DVD is clean, best to click verify so you can tell if it has burnt properly, otherwise you Nero again
  13. On the administrator password untick "Must Have password" and tick "blank password". you'll just have to check to make sure you filled in "workgroup" box
  14. The compatibility tab info and quick fix is here hope that helps
  15. do you get any error messages when you check for updates?
  16. Ok, here is a quick fix, just download the run the files below, NO restart or reinstall required. This basically puts the wer.dll("Compatiblity" Tab, "System Restore" and some Winamp issues) and faultrep.dll into the system32 folder. Vista x86 (32bit) ¦ Vista x64 (64bit) If you get a message asking if you want to replace and existing file, just click "No". both files fixes a few problems like Inkball and some other problems which is why i included faultrep.dll.
  17. Try my guide, just copy the "Windows Sidebar" form "program files" folder Guide here. Havent tried getting back Windows Sidebar and if there is any needed registry entries but worth a try Liam
  18. it would be easier if nuhi could somehow add a button (just for the tweaks page) that applies the settings to the current windows installation, so you select the tweaks you want and it will apply them, but would be easier than listing every single tweak. Liam
  19. at the link at the top download 7zip (download the beta) and open the install.wim with that, with 7zip you cannot modify the install.wim as this guide is used for getting files you need from the install.wim. If you have already downloaded 7zip beta... open it goto tools > options and tick "wim" then ok. Then you can just double click your WIM file. What version of vista do you use and what file/driver are you after? Liam
  20. sorry to dissapoint you but you shouldn't be talking about that sort of thing on these forums. As "cracking" any piece of software is highly illegal that includes Windows Vista
  21. try using a program called "nLite Addon Maker", it makes addons for you, but you'll need to know the syntax for silent install i.e /S, /s, /Q or /q but it varies with different programs
  22. ive got 40 updates integrated and OEM folder works
  23. yes, windows update will still work after vlite has been used on a vista disk. Windows will only get the updates for the components you have not removed which is a good thing hope thats answered your question Liam
  24. when on the unattended page do you set IIS to "install"? there is a problem but has been fixed for the next version of nlite which this is set to "Install" it only shows the administrator account and if you dont have a password on it then it will auto log you in If it is set to "Install" change it to "Don't Install" but you can install it manually after the setup has completed, try that hope that helps Liam
  25. do you get any missing file errors when running the games, files like "wer.dll", "faultrep.dll" or whatever? i ask because this has stopped me from running Inkball & Winamp which a few other programs/games
