  1. At the moment just planning on doing nLite tweaks, no all of them are needed to be done as some of them only affect the installation. The thing is im gonna have to use VMWare cos my current OS is Vista lol. lol if you mean money then no thanks, tweaks that you know is acceptable
  2. XP, but will probably work on 2003 too (x64 too). The hardest part is starting off so shoud be ok after a while. But i prob wont start it until enough people want me to make it. But if anyone suggests any tweaks then it will have there name on it so you'll be credited for it. Like any suggestions on layout of the app would be nice too. Example: Tweak1 [AgiHammerKlau] Tweak2 [irfCore] So far (for ideas) got Tabs, with each tab being called "Boot and Shutdown", "Performance", same as nlite really. Then each tweak is a tick box which at the end you click apply. At the right hand side there is a list of what tweaks was applied and which ones didnt which saves having millions of message boxes saying "This has been apllied" lol. Pic below is what i created to see what im getting myself into to lol
  3. ill would be using the ones from nlite, because i want them to be added first, then ill add custom tweaks later or if someone would want a certain tweak on it then ill do that first.
  4. lol if enough people want me to make one then ill try, pretty simple so far its just getting the values from nlite.inf which takes the longest lol
  5. If you want i could make a program with all the nLite tweaks which apply to current installation instead of XPCD? EDIT:Would be easier if someone could list some other tweaks and what registry entries they want added For example: Paging Executive - Already done this one lol, lets you enable/disable it too Key = "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" String = DisablePagingExecutive Value = 0 - disabled, 1 - enabled
  6. look on google - i cannot say what to type in on google cos i make my own programs for tweaking.
  7. I think it was nuhi Normally, i just add them and don't sort them and it ends up being fine, but i still integrate IE7 & WMP seperate before the rest of the updates, just to be sure. (Integrate to the untouched ISO). Then as new updates are released i can just add them to the previous ISO (with nothing removed etc...) so my main ISO becomes up-to-date. And everytime i use nLite its always with a fresh ISO (unless im doing the nlite XP > Test > Remove more method).
  8. ive removed all 3 of those removed n works fine for me OS: Windows Vista x64
  9. i ALWAYS integrate IE7 seperatly, but just do the following below lol. 1. Arrange everything by build date 2. IE7 at very top - If your not integrating IE7 then skip this step 3. Move you apps to the top (WMP 10/11, any integrated applications really) 4. RyanVM's Pack 5. Rest of updates
  10. you dont need to extract, just select the .cab, .7zip or whatever you downloaded with nlite hotfix tab.
  11. the I386 folder is just located on the installation CD/DVD.
  12. What Ponch Said EDIT: its save to remove administrative tools
  13. Once you downloaded the program you want using the "These" links you provided, you integrate them the same as hotfixes. Hope thats the answer your looking for.
  14. Thanks for the suggestion. Assuming I am using all the hot fixes as I originally downloaded them, this should pretty much take care of them all relative to each other. However, is it possible that, if I re-downloaded one for some reason, it might have a newer build date than it originally had and thus get mis-coordinated against all the other hot fixes? Perhaps the best thing to do would be to take my list of all hot fixes, critical, non-critical, etc. and just go re-download them all tonight and that should give all the hot fixes the latest date they could possibly have and then apply them all at the same time and not do some now and some later. It would be so nice if Microsoft would provide a foolproof way to know the absolute install order of all hot fixes since you can't go by KB number or even the date on the file as downloaded. I am not 100% sure that build date is foolproof either, but I guess if that Build Date is internal to the package, nLite should be able to handle it. I'll see what happens. Thanks for the help, Bob if you do it by build date it will work fine, ive always done it, and with the info slipk487 said... you can't go wrong. but if its a major update i.e Internet Explorer 7, Windows Media Player 10/11, etc.. then integrate them first otherwise you will have problems.
  15. i didnt have to do anything, i only got windows defender but i think it was because i had a power cut during the installation of Visual Studio 2005 .NET lol, so prob just corrupted file. Tried reinstall everything to do with VS 2005 but still doesn't work.
  16. I always use "Acronis True Image Home" which works on my SATA without any drivers n can make a backup directly on a HDD or DVD to save space. Works on x64 too
  17. for me when i try and add hotfixes on vista, nlite just closes without an error message as soon as i add them
  18. Decided to make this fix into a little tool which has files for both x86 and x64 (without going into the SysWOW64 folder). If you have problems with the program just get the files you need from the "Files" folder and put them into your System32 folder. The program only works on vista for obvious reasons and automatically detects if you are running x64 or x86. If one of the files already is there then the fix button associated with that file is disabled. Once "Fix" is clicked, the associated file will be copied to the system32 folder and should change to "File Not Found!" to "Fixed" and next time you load the program is will detect the file. It also says next to it what that file fixes. Also once you click "Fix" the program will check if its copied correctly, after you've done everything you want with it then you can just delete the program as it doesn't need installing or uninstalling, think of it as a portable program. If you have any suggestions for this program, feel free to contact me. Download link at top. Any problems with this application i have made report to ME and not nuhi, any problems with vlite then report to Nuhi. Pics 1st Pic > First pic as a preview probably when you first open the program and have both files missing. 2nd Pic > This pics shows faultrep.dll was fixed in a previous use of the program and wer.dll is when ive just cliked "Fix".
  19. yep re-uploaded the x64 file and will put a batch file and the desktop which will move them for you The problem was due to that the sfx which you download runs in x86 mode and therefore files go to the SysWOW64 folder instead which is annoying.
  20. You can add all the hotfixes (critcal, non-critical, etc..) you have and if you click on "Build Date" at the top it will re-arrange them but make sure you put the oldest at the top. Also if you have SP2 already integrated make sure your not integrating anything older than SP2. Doing the above 2 simple methods will ensure everything will be updated correctly
  21. thats odd, how come you had to do it manually n did anyone else?
  22. oh right, u got a last session preset for when windows as u described?
  23. here it is for 32bit - Download - EDIT: If it doesnt work then you'll have to reinstall
  24. sory i will do the same to 32bit, give me some time... it cos its says ur on " Vista Business x64"
  25. maybe use extra updates on "windows update", i will look into this further and get back to you. EDIT: Ive edited the windows defender to ignore that message and hopefully should install (tricked it to think its installing on XP ), give me some time to upload it Download Here x64 (Hope it works )
