  1. what directory are they in? and since google found nothing on my search, i'd delete them.
  2. couldn't find a reg tweak, but you can simply drag the folder to the start button, wait until it pops up, then put it just under the shortcuts for ie and your mail program.
  3. wow a networking problem. how fun. well let me share what i know. 1. must have different computer names. 2. must be on the same subnet. ex: 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2 with subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 is same subnet. 3. must be in same workgroup. just three quick things to check
  4. no, all that means is it is larger than what you would typically download from the update site. go ahead and download that one. should be about 266 MB.
  5. to check if auto archive is on go to tools>options>other tab>auto archive. and i recommend when exporting calendar choose pst file instead of csv. i have had problems with that in the past.
  6. try downloading sp2 from download.microsoft.com and see if that fixes the problem
  7. yeah something like titans spawned zeus and he killed the titans, then zeus spawned the rest of the gods and they killed him? or something like that....
  8. does anyone know if the sims and all the expansions can be integrated to one install kind of like other multi cd games?
  9. i second that motion. if your going to spend money on a video card, may as well get a decent one. if you get the bottom of the line card, then you will regret it when a game comes out you want to play, but your card is insufficient. if you are absolutely sure that you won't do that, then go right ahead and get a cheap card. i have found the best prices at newegg, and they have free shipping on most products.
  10. i'll give that a try and see if it works for me, and let you know. edit: i still get usbehci.sys errors. : ( i hate dell
  11. ok, got everything working but trying to get it to install silently. there is an msi file. i use the /quiet switch and i get this error: To run a silent install you must either specify a response file or override this event (OnMsiSilentInstall()) and provide your own implementation. The setup will now end. can anyone help or lend any suggestions?
  12. what can i use to open exe files? i'd like to look at the code and how the files install the software that they do when run. thanks in advance.
  13. my initial guess would be no. seems that sp2 doesn't want any updates at all on the cd. sp1 wasn't as picky. i was able to slipstream that without an issue. however, you have to try it for the final word.
  14. if anyone has the ability to compare this svcpack.dll to one that came from a retail xp pro, i'd like to know the difference.
  15. thanks guys, i'll give that a try. this game installs everything to hdd and is meant to be played without cds, so i don't need them in to play. Edit: i finally gave that a try. it worked like a charm. install rolled on to 100% and didn't ask for a cd. thanks a lot guys!! only issue i got is at end of 3rd cd it pops up a reminder about putting in cd 4 (the expansion cd). so maybe i can find someway to backwards engineer the exe file so it doesn't do that. other than that, i just made a batch file to install everything.
  16. i have been looking for a way to combine all 5 cds of final fantasy xi to one dvd, for install purposes. can somebody tell me if this would be possible? i mean, i can copy them to the dvd and all, but when the install prompts for another cd, is there a way to alter the install so it just goes to the next folder automatically? the install is very long and it would be easier for it to work like that. i really don't know why square enix didn't do it that way. thanks for any help you guys can give!
  17. well if you want her to quit, walk up to her, grab her boob and ask for oral sex. she'll probably be outraged and leave you alone.
  18. not 100% sure, but you could try putting the inf files in the i386 dir.
  19. you got me! could be it was corrupted during slipstream.
  20. is this external or internal? and what is the model number? usually cdrw internal drives use the generic driver that xp has. the only thing you can download from the benq website is firmware upgrades and dos drivers, of which neither will help you. now if this is an external drive, then you might need drivers.
  21. hmmm....first of all you should know that integrated graphics cards are complete crap. i wouldn't even dream of trying to run doom 3 on an integrated card. secondly, i stick to the manufacturer driver so that i don't harm the card or my os. if you still want a different driver, then search google for custom intel graphics driver.
