I am having problem in saving the CPU speed and mm/dd/year setting in the BIOS. After setting it in the BIOS menu there and pressing F10 to save it. After restart the clock and the CPU show correctly during boot post. When I shutdown the computer and call it a day,after sometimes when I restart the cpu showing my speed is 500MHz. instead of 1GHz and the year back to default 2001. I tried several time but it seem the same. My OS.P3. XP Pro.SP2. Please help me to do it correctly. Thanks.

Hi I am having a problem in installing xp pro. in my computer, my previous OS. is also XP Pro sp2 in the computer. I tried to repair install but failed, so I did a clean install. After the formating with the xp cd all things goes smoothly untill it say it will reboot in 14 sec. After this reboot it come back to the windows setup page again. I tried to create a partition and install over it but the same setup page appear again there is no error message it sometimes hang after this reboot. I do hope someone can help mje solve this problem Thanks.

Thanks for your reply yes it could play in another computer. I wish to know what is the best configuration in the IDE cable, at present my setup is pri.master >80GB. hdd, Pri. slave> cd-rw writer,Sec.master> drive taken out as I am not using,only for backup and it is a drawer type tray I do not know what you call that) Sec.slave>cdrom. If you think I need to set up in a different setting please let me know. Please note all drive are in slave in the jumper clip.

Hi I have a error message when I insert a CD to the cdrom drive, this CD is sent by the auther for trial. The message "Windows cannot read from this disk.The disk might be corrupted,or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows" I tried some burn cdrs which I have burn sometimes ago it also could not read it. At times it shaows the burn data capacity (MB.) but it cannot be seen or open. I have burn a new cdr with Samsung cdrw writer it also could not open although it show the burn data size. I could see the data using Ultra ISO. My OS win xp pro, P3. 1GHZ. I do hope someone can help me out. Thanks.

Hi I have the files with .wm and .wma, what format must I convert to, to let my hand phone to play. My phone is pre- loaded with Realplayer and ultramp3 player (nokia phone) when I click on the file on my phone it popup saying 'unknown format' please someone help me Thanks

Thanks ninnox for your honesty I appreaciate what you said,I could not not understand much about slipstreaming SP2 to WinXp Cd with NLite, I am a novice in this subject. What do you mean by reinstall windows at least System folder how do you go with it. I wish to try it, I really am annoyed with SP2 since I installed it,when you start the computer a screen "Run as" popup allowing you to choose which account to run,when I choose in > the following user> where my name was in it it popup,logon failure. I also cannot apply any setting in the firewall as it said the firewall is not running the adminsistrator or computer admin. must start it. I am the computer admin. as from the user accounts stated. Any ideas how to overcome this. Thanks and hope you can suggest what ways to solve it.

Hi please to hear from you all again,Finally my sp2 cd have arrived and I have installed it .It spot a new control pa and a few extra items in the network task page. Hi ninnox I have installed as mentioned the repository folder all the items is being installed that is the FS folder which contains 5 files which is 0 KB. is it normal. I still could not get the wmi to open same error message. I do hope all of you who have replied earlier and those I hope to hear from, please help me. Thanks.

Hi ninnox the tab in 'local area connection',in the advanced tab which is not visible only saying as mentioned earlier. I have deleted the Repository folder in which there are one FS and one folder I don't know what it is. After restart in the respository folder it is empty,in the services WMI is still displaying automatic. In the properties tab of wmi I click the "start" button it popup >Services: Could not start the wmi service on local computer.ERROR 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start.( the tab mentioned stated "stop" that's why I tried the start button) Please help some one. Thanks. PS. when I right click the wmi in the right plane as mentioned the stop,pause,resume and restart are grey out.

Thanks for your speedy reply now wmi is automatic,but still I could not open the advanced tab for setting as mentioned. Any further help please.

Hi ninnox I have gone to the MS. site and follow their instruction,but the wmi could not be "stop" as the 'stop' is grey out with others,and now is automatic. Only the wmi drivers ext,the 'stop' button tab is visible,I did nothing on this tab. I locate the wbem folder, should I delete the contains of all the items in this folder,I am waiting for further help before I do it. Thanks.

Hi I was trying to do advanced setting in the "Local area connection" tab,and in the advanced tab when I click it could not display the setting or other options. Instead it has a message "windows cannot display the properties of this connection. The windows management instrumentation (WMI) might be corrupted.... and it ask to restore to an earlier time,the thing is I never used the system restore in xp,as it has been disable long time ago. Now how can I repair this so I can used the setting in the properties tab. I have been to MS. site about this topic but it appear jargeon to me of what it mean going to other pages for informations it is too hard for me to understand the topics written in this site. I am asking fellow members please help me how to solve it. I do not know much in technical terms. Thanks.

Thanks aresgodofwar it is a internal drive Model:4012A, Benq 40x12x48,I tried their site and download the firmware and when I flash it it say no driver for update. In my computer it show as Atapi cd-r/rw 40x12 but with a YELLOW exclamation mark. Can anyone help out it popup everytime when I start my computer saying "Found new hardware" and tried to install software for the mention. What am I going to do with it my driver for the cdrw writer have been lost other wise problems will not happen. Hoping further help on the way.Thanks again.
