Hello, i want to scan a computer remotely using the antivirus on my computer from which i am accessing my remote computer. Is it possible? Thanks. I am having problems with that remote computer. The explorer windows and few other windows close after few seconds without any warning. I am sure that it is some virus or spyware. This behaviour happens when i am using that other computer. It does not allow any antivirus to be installed on it.

Will doing something to the Internet explorer allow me to block all the adds i see while i play radio on WMP 11. I do not use IE 6.1 at all, i only use FF 3.0. Is there any utility or trick or tip? Thanks for any help. I have Windows XP SP3.

Thanks for the answer. I myself was having problem with Burning and Music being played in the background. The music started to hang with burning. And i checked and found that Secondary IDE was set to PIO mode. I have immediately changed it to DMA mode.

Well, there are ways to make it like Vista orb for XP at this thread Vista orb But in Windows 2000 its a different story. I have been able to remove the start text, from the start button but i do not know how do i make it round. But i am searching and working on it.

I have already done that. Its done in the user32.dll file, with Reshacker. What i want to know is that how do i change my bottom taskbar where the start menu is, like its in Vista. Wait i found it on MDGX website, its in the same place as in Windows 98: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Appearance\Schemes Now i only want to know how do i change the shape of Start button? Hello, i am trying to make a Hackpack for Windows 2000 with new icons and graphics, but difference in the size of system files before and after would be 0%. Please do not laugh at my humble project as i am not a programmer or anything just a hobbyist trying to make a pack usable on low end machines. Anyway i have done a lot but i am stuck at skinning Windows 2000 bottom taskbar like Vista's. I do not know from where does the taskbar loads and what factors control it. I hope someone here can help me with this. I did searched and just found other programs of doing it but no hacks, i also read that maybe Hex editing or registry editing may be required. But i am not sure and do not know how. Thanks for any help.

Hello, i have just recently upgraded to Windows 2000 and i am having problems with displaying statistics about WPP [PPP_SLIP] in the network interface type of Performance measuring management console. I tweaked my services and after that i developed this problem. Nothing else has broken except the monitoring of PPP_SLIP, it just displays nothing! Can anybody help me with this? Thanks.

Which version of Windows are you using? Its Windows 98SE. Is it the operating system, the cause of problem.

I am having problems with a file, i am getting this error: It scans the file and stops at VISE and then returns an error. Also USSF was unable to find out the type of packer that was used to pack the file. Any comments? Thanks.

I use AVG and it works nicely on Windows98SE.

Start->Settings->Control Panel->System, then "Performance" tab, "Virtual Memory" box; careful now! Usually "Let Windows Manage..." is the best option unless you may be running out of HDD space. Before you change anything, first check the current Windows\WIN386.SWP size and your Free HDD space. If you give too big/too small, you might lock up the system (correction on this statement?). Also ref. RJARRRPCGP's comment/info... Yes exactly. One more thing: If you have two hard drives, then select the hard drive for swap which does not has operating system on it. This way read and writes are increased.

I do not know whether this applies to the discussion or not, but i have 128 MB ram and 380 MB swap file, i had a "Not enough Memory error" once and i just raised the swap file size to 420 MB and it was fixed. The Maxfilecache setting is at default 393216. I do not use any minfilecache setting.

I guess if Windows 98SE can work with ME files so getting Windows 98 files to work on ME will be just like downgrading or rollbacking an upgrade. But each and every file will have to found and replaced. Try to reverse the Windows98SE2ME installer!!! Windows ME is buggy, you will be better off with Windows 98SE, IMO.
