  1. @MDGX: Thanks for the Graphics filter package link. Now MS Paint is opening and saving jpeg and gif files.
  2. Hello, i wanted to know that whether this project adds some new features to MS Paint, like saving as Gif or Jpeg. Thanks for any replies.
  3. I fixed it myself. I am using Firefox, so what i had to do is to download this Video acceleartor (Optional) and let the Youtube video run in the browser window. Then i would go to about:cache in the firefox and find the video file, and just rename that file from x:\windows\application data\firefox\profile\xxxxxxx\cache folder. It worked and strangely no lose of connection takes place while playing the video in the browser.
  4. Hello, recently i am having a strange problem with youtube videos downloads, they stop downloading due to connection loss and restarting them will only make them redownload from start and again lose connection in the middle . I have dialup and i use freedownload manager. I recently installed RP 7 and orbit downloader and then uninstalled orbit downloader, i doubt that any of these have to do with my problem. Can anybody help me thanks. .FIXED.
  5. Are you really 98 years old?

  6. no1none: Thanks for the suggestions but i guess my computer does not support Hibernate under Windows98SE. Its an old Dell, it does not even show the Bios settings properly.
  7. http://marc.herbert.free.fr/linux/win2linstall.html is the best article about the"Poor mans install" on the net.
  8. I have a desktop, but i guess the arguments of erpdude8 that even MDGX's 98SE2ME does not add hibernate to desktop windows98se systems apply here as well. Anyway thanks for the replies.
  9. No. Accroding to a wikipedia article Windows98SE has hibernate support. And also as described in this knowledgebase article by Microsoft. You are absolutely right. Therefore i never use suspend. Have you tried the sleep button on your keyboard. When i use it only power LED light blinks and everything else switches off. There is this post i have read about hibernate on Windows98SE, according to which only Laptops/Notebooks with ACPI have hibernate in Windows98SE. Can anybody please confirm it. Thanks. IMO: When the computer is supporting ACPI then why is there no hibernate?
  10. Hello, Windows 98 has Hibernate feature but it does not work for me(There is no option for it). I have Dell GX 110. I searched and found that what i am looking for is S4 Hibernate which saves everything to hard disk and completely shuts down. On Dell website it is written that Hibernate in Windows98SE is analogous to Sleep, it works, but the power LED light keeps blinking and the computer is not completely shut down. Can anybody advice me how to get S4 hibernate in Windows98SE. Thanks.
  11. It worked for me when i placed unicows.dll in the installation directory.
  12. Fascinating stuff by Alex, Winxpi and MDGX.
  13. If a modification is required then this is how it should be done, if not then the current layout suites the purpose of one click access to important threads for an endangered operating system.
  14. The first method was very simple and easy and it worked like a charm. Thanks for writing the whole script for me.
  15. Hello guys 1. I want to know is there any way i can execute a script right at the beginning before Windows98SE boot process starts? I want to run Puppy Linux, which i can be run by running go.bat (which i made, because it was easy), but i have to go into into its directory and then execute go.bat from DOS prompt everytime i want to run Linux, so is there any way to make it run before windows; if i press yes, and if i press no then it boots to Windows. Any lines which i can add to grub? or is there something else? Thanks.
  16. Gentoo 2006.1 LiveCD version may be a nice choice. IMO: Windows gurus migrating to Linux may find it easier to learn to operate the Linux so they may not have to go through an easier and limited user interface to get going. Linux is all about freedom... BTW i am also migrating from Windows98SE to Linux, and have ordered Gentoo 2006.1 LiveCD.
  17. It was when one mission finished and another started, it just crashed giving the above error. I read on internet elsewhere that few retailers had CD's with corrupted pak2.pak files and gamers who bought them had to replace that file to get it working. That was my hint.
  18. I fixed it myself. Details: Pak2.pak in the second CD had two files in it which were corrupted, i copied two another jpeg files from the same directory and renamed them exactly as the corrupted files. All this was done using a tool pakscape. No crashes and it loads the next mission.
  19. MOHAA crashes giving an error: Tried to read from a zip file textures/mohtest/rubble2trans.jpg that was not open. I think its a corrupted .pak file, any suggestions how to fix it.
  20. jaclaz From the difficulty related to these things it is very evident why Microsoft and all other software developers charge so much for there software.
  21. Pre-compiled last cdrtools Win32 port (Cygwin): http://www.sbox.tugraz.at/home/t/tplank/ Elder "special" cdrtools Win32 port (MinGW): http://www.bcdwb.de/downloads/cdrtools.htm jaclaz Phew, thanks. Otherwise i would have kept on trying to compile unsuccessfully, not even near it. Are there any good "How to compile" tutorials available on net?
