  1. That's why I usually avoid to modify the hosts file. The more configuration files are involved in establishing network connections, the more difficult to find the causer of issues. On my computer, only the firewall is responsible for the network connections. And Windows 10 Firewall Control Plus XP has been doing a great job without any problems. All configurations can be done with it. Enabling or disabling specific, self-created rules is very easy. No need to do it via the hosts file.

  2. So, long story short. The Project VORAPIS 0.9.0.0 script works fine in Mozilla based browsers like New Moon 28 and Serpent 52 which are the browsers this thread is about. And it also works in Mypal 68, all tested by me.

  3. @NotHereToPlayGames But TBH, the Project VORAPIS 0.9.0.0 script itself works as well as the TURBOLAUNCHER 2.1.0.0 script in New Moon 28 and Mypal 68 on my old machine. Therefore, I assume you configured your computer badly, and by that I mean your adblocker.

  4. Disregard! That was short-lived! Videos are consistently stopping about three and half minutes in then the infamous swirling circle indicating buffering rears its ugly head! One to two hours! You've never been satisfied with anything for so long. I think that's a new record. Install the TURBOLAUNCHER 2.1.0.0 script (a launcher script for VORAPIS) instead of the Project VORAPIS 0.9.0.0 script itself! Works fine in New Moon 28 on my old machine. No interruptions of the stream, and no swirling circle here.

  5. I think that sort of thing is getting pretty par for the course now with 360Chrome, because of its old Chromium version (86). Spoofing the UA string only has limited use now, as many sites use other methods to determine what level of browser you're using.

  6. Could you try the same with Brave or CatsXP?

  7. He can still read without logging in. Lost the password. simply don't want to login, etc. The login details had been been changed since last summer (coincidence?), now need to know your email, he could've lost it. - And some here created a drama around it.

  8. I strongly suggest you all simply ignore those dimwits. let their businesses go bankrupt. Enough of this nonsense. Recently, I was willing to spend several grands on a bag, yet I have problems with their site. I'll think twice now. And looks like they just lost a customer. In details. https://msfn.org/board/topic/186728-chanel-french-bags-website-err_http2_protocol_error-from-my-ip-blocked-from-vpn-too/

  9. He lied to you, the owner simply put the slider to the "maximum protection". Again, Cloudflare could care less what the owner chooses.

  10. The owner of the website determines what level of "protection" is used, not Cloudflare. Cloudflare simply gives the tools to the owner.

  11. Straight from the Avast Support: So, they're gonna keep rolling out definitions updates for 18.x so Windows XP computers are still gonna be updated, but if something breaks, they're not gonna fix it or release any new update from now on. In theory, given that they won't be rolling out updates, they also won't break stuff (in theory), so we *should* be fine (emphasis on "should"). The only positive thing in all this is that they at least fixed the high CPU usage issue, so normal bare metal systems won't have issues: The reason why I mentioned "bare metal" systems specifically is that there's still an issue with VBoxTray.exe when the new guest additions are installed, but that one will never be fixed. The hope is that this will be addressed by Oracle as it seems to have something to do with Avast's behavior shield which, for some reason, seems to be going berserk with the new guest additions but was totally cool with the old ones. Nonetheless, as far as Avast is concerned, the only thing we know for sure now is that: 1) They will not release any new program update (so any new bug will never be addressed/fixed) 2) They will still keep releasing definitions updates 3) They won't help anyone with XP if you try to go through their support, regardless on whether you have a paid subscription or not It's not quite the end of the road, but it feels like we're slowly getting there as we're approaching 2027.

  12. Oh, I forgot to answer to the main question, The actual reason Windows 11 had failed is because @D.Draker purchased zero licences, whereas with Vista he bought dozens and dozens, maybe hundreds. Literally every PC I bought had Vista, and if we count the numerous gifts I made during that times, countless girlfriends were gifted with Vista computers, even my mother and father!

  13. Then there was a short break for Vista, looks like the engineers finally heard the complaints about the terrible XP and took it into the account, Yet they still somehow managed to insert the non-changeable white folders background ugliness into Vista. Then the terrible, slow, buggy, spying and bloated Windows 7 came out, and the real horror began, so Win 11 is the successor of 7, not Longhorn, therefore, I agree with @Rod Steel!

  14. I'll check it out, but it seems that it will be hard for me to run anything above Chromium 110. D. Draker as far as I know ran Chromium up to version 125. BTW. that FF 137 has the same problem as FF 130+ on XP with One Core API, that is, any codec like VP9 or H264 does not work on YT. Perhaps someone can solve it, if not, I'll wait to see what the OCA developer does about it.

  15. Why? So you would continue to use it for free, without the need to buy a new OS?

  16. I've recently discovered, this browser runs without sandbox! Is it true!?!!?

  17. Thanks, now this mystery is solved, at least we know the reason. All roads for Win 8 lead ro Supermium, I guess. I still not want to use it. And seeing its streaming problem, it adds more to the point.

  18. Right, it looks absolutely different from the standard WD Red platform that they produce themselves. I own a WD40EFRX, I can tell. This one is indeed made by Hitachi, just look at the air breather. A classic Hitachi breather

  19. Seeing how Supermium follows all modern trends, I'd rather assume it will be similar to the standard version 132, as we saw before. Take all those "experiments" features, for example. And I too want the classic design they dumped in favour of the new.

  21. What if you disable "safe" downloading or whatever they call it in Firefox?

  22. It looks to me like this port is NOT something that you port directly into your XP. Rather, it is something that is "compiled" with the program that you want to then run on XP. ie, you use this to create a version of Supermium or Thorium that will "do" ECC when ran on XP.
