  1. First of all, thanks for uploading the files! I was surprised to learn that there is supposed to be a .NET Framework version 4.0.30320 for Windows XP. I couldn't find anything about it in any official source. In any case, your installer "Microsoft .NET 4.0.30320 Full" is the same one I have, and it has the number 4.0.30319.1. Presumably, at least for Windows XP, there is no version 4.0.30320. You can find out your current version installed with the following command: reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full" /v Version The MS Visual C++ 2010 SP1 (10.0.40219.473) installer is indeed the last one you can still get from Microsoft or from abbodi1406. I will try later. In any case, thanks again!

  2. thats ICU update, I wonder if upstream encounter same issue or not, or I "enbugged" when backporting pre-NT6 changes. from Bad Request URL above, some dates becoming "Invalid Date" and I need a minimal code to reproduce it.

  3. I assume that the ransomware protection won't work in any RogueKiller version under Windows XP. Same as it was in Malwarebytes Premium 3.5.1.

  4. That hotfix was previously under https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54179 but bad MS have now removed that link ; I haven't tried the Internet Archive for retrieval, because abbodi1406 has already archived that link: http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/E/0/EE05C9EF-A661-4D9E-BCE2-6961ECDF087F/vcredist_x86.exe Mind you, despicable MS had shadow-banned his GitHub repo, thankfully a GitLab mirror exists: https://gitlab.com/stdout12/vcredist/-/tree/master/source_links?ref_type=heads

  5. I got everything to my liking. The AV receiver in the living room is my only truly awesome surround sound receiver. But I don't watch "everything" from the living room. :) With the combination of OS-level EQ (Equalizer APO + Peace GUI) coupled with browser-level compressor (Volume Limiter), I am now greatly satisfied with my streaming experiences. Whether in the living room with Dolby Atmos 7.2 fed from HDMI or whether in the computer room with nothing but a three-speaker left/right/subwoofer fed from a 3.5mm (1/8") phono jack. Whether background audio while sitting at the bill-pay computer or streaming anything from YouTube, Pluto, Plex, Tubi, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Paramount+, or Comcast/Xfinity. And I no longer have to stub a toe running for the remote's volume buttons when a loud scene breaks out or two people start whispering for no reason whatsoever, nobody else is on the set, why whisper?

  6. Definitely KB2890375. That is recorded as being installed in my system registry. KB2890573 isn't mentioned in the registry at all, so can't be installed on my system. I have a hotfix installation file for 'MS Visual C++ 2010 SP1 (10.0.40219.473)', so that's presumably what I have installed.

  7. ... Well then, not wanting to "burst anyone's bubbles" , but, perhaps, Adlice's "idea" of WinXP support is just what has been confirmed so far by your (and AstroSkipper's) tests: on-demand manual scans, only (i.e., you still need a Win7+ OS and a paid-for licence for real-time-protection to be effective); on a side note, Adlice's homepage doesn't breathe much confidence to me ; it appears they couldn't be bothered to change the copyright year to the current value: https://www.adlice.com/roguekiller/ And, FWIW, the support forum (intended to help users of the "free" version) has been turned into read-only mode: https://forum.adlice.com/index.php?topic=3890.0

  8. My C++ 2010 is version 10.0.40219, with a KB2890375 update installed. My .NET Framework 4 is version 4.0.30320, with numerous updates applied.

  9. I'll wait and see if you get a response from them before perhaps trying RogueKiller again. If they say what is the last version which should work with XP, and whether it still gets pattern updates, then we can go from there. This is my Panda Dome interface - I do have all the POSReady updates installed BTW.

  10. Today, Panda Dome 18.07.04 has been automatically updated to version 20.02.01 on my Windows XP partition. At the moment, no significant delay when starting the computer. So, you have installed Panda Dome, too. How does your main interface look like? Can you post a screenshot? On my POSReady partition, no interface background images are shown, quite unlike my partition without POSReady updates. I think that there is some kind of problem in my POSReady partition.

  11. Tha's why I suggested to try first version 15.0.0. If this version doesnt work either, you can forget about the 15 version series and try the 14 one.

  12. OK, moving on...... I've now installed Panda Dome 21.01.00. Looks good, it installed with no problem and appears to be all working fine. No initial signs of it slowing down the system startup, which is a relief. It does look as if there's no free trial of the paid versions, unfortunately, which means that I won't be able to check whether real-time scanning works without paying.

  13. Well 15.8.0 didn't work either, same issue, driver not loaded. According to the changelog, that version should definitely work with XP. I guess all we can do is wait until they respond to @AstroSkipper's support request. As it is at the moment, it's fine on XP for manual scanning, but if you want real-time protection, no versions that have been tried appear to work.

  14. Here is a short interim report. Panda Antivirus Free 18.07.04 was also installed without any problems and has been running flawlessly so far. Let's see how long that lasts.

  15. I prefer the principle of interval nesting when testing programme versions for compatibility.

  16. Already done that! I'm now going to try version 15.8.0 which has the most recent changelog entry which mentions XP. "Fixed issues on Windows XP". So presumably that version did work!

  17. Try the first 15 version installer version that was 15.0.0! If it works, try a more recent. If not. try the latest 14 version that was 14.8.6. If this doesn't work either, try the first 14 version installer version that was 14.0.0.16. I wouldn't go any deeper. In any case, this is an issue they fixed in several versions. Check their changelog!

  18. What is much worse is that an existing installation is rendered unusable by updating the signatures. That is an outrage.

  19. I've now activated the 30-day trial, which I had forgotten about! Unfortunately, although it has activated other disabled functions, there's still no real-time protection. As you can see, the protection controls are still greyed out. Do you think it's worth trying version 15? I suspect they will just say that version 16 is no longer XP compatible. One other thing I noticed is that if I have it set to run at start-up, there is quite a long annoying pause in the start-up sequence, which is not good!

  20. I've uploaded v3.6.0 (for which my AMD Ryzen AI MAX 385 for the first time did all the hard, and particularly quick, work). Please confirm it works on WinXP.

  21. @Gansangriff , not sure if it's on-topic , but since you've started , I agree... I'm a simple guy , so my plans for the retirement are rather simple too. 1 - I'm gonna find a quiet place to live , but not far from a medical facility , just in case , nowadays it won't be easy , I guess. 2 - I'll buy an Opel Olympia Deluxe (4-door) sedan 1938 , I actually owned this very Opel in the 90's (which I got from my grandfather) , but it had 2 doors only and I always wanted the 4-door variant. https://cdn.nettiauto.com/live/2020/01/23/8184165c7df0d21c-large.jpg If I won't be able to find the Olympia one , I'll switch to Opel Kadett K38. For those who are wondering , it is a simplified Olympia from the same year . https://www.vccsturm.cz/sites/www.vccsturm.cz/files/renovace/o/p/opel_kadett_k38_spezial_0.jpg https://uploads.carandclassic.co.uk/uploads/cars/opel/13726308.jpg 3 - And this one is my dream car , if I will have enough money for permits and restoration , which won't be easy to obtain, as one may guess. A nice multi-purpose car . Convenient for big families and off-road driving. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/53/28/86/532886aed64161085baab132cbb266f6.jpg http://www.casmodels.org/uploads/5/5/1/1/5511257/1151113.jpg P.S. All cars will be repainted to FELDGRAU.

  22. @ArcticFoxie , @XPerceniol and other members from USA , mind giving your opinion on this and ,perhaps, tell us : is this also true for your region , {but I'm not asking you to tell us where you live exactly, just the state , if it's ok} , thanks in advance. Would be interested to hear EU citizens too ( @Gansangriff , @Mr.Scienceman2000 and the others ), esp. from the West , since I've heard it about Ireland (EU member) too. https://twitter.com/APhilosophae/status/1402434266970140676

  23. Tried your XP skin , very bright for me , all is white and acid blue , it distracts from the pages , it's eye fatiguing , sorry my opinion , folks love bright colours these days (I guess) , but you're a cool skin modder anyways. What I noticed - if I I simply replace en_skin and skin (without adding the actual XP skin) - the browser will load faster , and the skin is still dark , like I want it to be (I'm on a dark theme) , even though I do not like the original 360 style . So , thanks ! I'm not sure why this is happening . Less compression ?

  24. @Cixert, hi , in 360 Extreme Explorer russians did not remove all telemetry , it's only *partially* removed , please add this information. You may see by yourself in my posts. This one , for example. https://msfn.org/board/topic/182304-extreme-explorer-360-chromium-78-86-general-discussion/page/15/?tab=comments#comment-1194253

  25. What is that suspicious updater.exe process ? Even two of them !
    1 point
  26. I told ya it was RAM . You need to remove all and test with only one module inserted. BTW , RAM testing tools are not good in my opinion. I had a funny case when the guy that was checking my faulty RAM at the store had 100% good test results and then he just couldn't boot into windows ! I also remember some similar case when my DDR2 RAM module no. 1 developed a faulty sector after a couple weeks of usage in a brand new PC . As for the second hand items , never use them in a PC where you do something important . People just do not know how to handle such items , just don't . Most never heard of static electricity and UPS.

  28. Says who ? If one has a good HDD - it's absolutely fantastic . Besides , many users have SDD nowadays. Anyway , I tend to disable it too ( in most cases ) because I have quite fast RAM .
