@nicolaasjan The original, untouched version uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2 performs again properly the updating process of its filter lists (including the list filters-2024.txt) except for the list "Online Malicious URL Blocklist". Did you also observe this error? In any case, I found the cause of this issue and had to also edit the code of this version to fix it.

I have revised my opinion a little, as the list is apparently still being updated despite the unrecognisable timestamp.

No worries, let's just forget it! Did you uninstal the old kernel first? The original installer kindly provided by win32 has that option, run as admin. The setup.exe should show you the window where you choose options, if no window shown at all, that's starnge! Could be the remnants of the third party installer by "bizzibob" blocking it.

I never implied you're stupid, I was just trying to help, since it's a very common error. But your decision to run a third party installer by "bizzibob" in admin mode doesn't look good, trust me. Especially in admin mode.

You need to use the original installer kindly provided by win32, and not a third party one, since it may or may not be infected. And you need to run the original installer by the developer win32 in admin mode!

I use https://curbengh.github.io/malware-filter/urlhaus-filter-online.txt and have removed the obsolete link from rhe code of the internal list. BTW, from now on, I try to avoid GitLab links if possible. GitLab causes errors (see the uBlock Logger) as they force the user to login into their account.

I have just tested this old, unmodified version uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2. Some important lists don't seem to be updated anymore. They have replaced the current timestamp of some lists by a variable %timestamp% to prevent that the old uBlock Origin Legacy extensions show out of date warnings. Here is a screenshot containing the first part of the legacy internal list with the title uBlock filters: Therefore, without any timestamp, the user is not able to judge whether the list is relatively up-to-date or not.

I see, I have a question, what made you use non-win32 installer in the first place? And what does Bizzbob have to say? Perhaps ask him in his topic then? Aand If I were you, I'd try a clean install of Vista + the installer by win32. It worked fine for me, always!

I got a bit further with this one. Hello AstroSkipper, Here are my screenshots of outlook.live.com with NM28 and St52 (latest releases). Since I don't have an M$ account this is the end of the line. Obviously St52 does not work with M$ Outlook.

So, you prefer to have a unique ID number of the tiny Supermium userbase, or an empty string? Ungoogled userbase isn't huge either.

As for my mod uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2-1.54.0, it worked properly last year but the changes the uBlock admins have performed in terms of the year 2024 at the end of 2023 cause unfortunately some problems when updating the filter list "uBlock filters - Ads". I have to examine this issue more deeply the next days.

I have just investigated the last versions of the webextension uBlock Origin. The last version where the internal list is still compatible with uBlock Origin Legacy is definitely uBlock Origin 1.49.2. Starting with version 1.50.0, there are incompatible entries inside which lead, for example, to the "Annoyances" bug and which I had to remove in my latest mod uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2-1.54.0.

@nicolaasjan I will create another, fixed version of my previous mod uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.31b2-1.49.2 in the next few days and also offer here. The internal list inside that version was still compatible with uBlock Origin Legacy when I created it. So everyone can decide for themselves how up-to-date they want to be.

Now I noticed "Ask where to save each file before downloading" doesn't work anymore. Apps like the German MKVToolNix 74.0.0 work fine though. It's mostly a browser and book readers based on chrome issue.

Hi@win32, for the first time a small issue with the kernel, short story, I had to install an update KB4499184, to be able to run a game, now open/save dialog doesn't work in most apps, chrome for example. This is with all kernels, but currently I'm on v06102022. I also have the platform and DX11 update, that's all. Thanks for looking into this.
