Legacy browsers like New Moon 28 and Serpent are totally moddable, and their extensions are not neutered as is the case with webextensions. Fortunately, I have made significant modifications in Mypal 68 to remove many restrictions. Extensions and themes no longer need to be signed, and my legacy custom buttons are not subject to any restrictions. All this can't be done easily or at all with modern browsers.

Then could it be the thing that HD sound is also broken on win11, since the developer is fixated mostly on win10? I read reports of the sound troubles on 11, too.

MPC-BE - in this day and age still having troubles with sound, for example DTS-HD MA and TrueHD or even DD+, whereas MPC-HC doesn't, I can use MPC-HC with my receiver.

Is the C: drive NTFS formatted? If it's FAT32, that's the reason. The security tab only appears on NTFS drives.

Hi, I want to report a nasty bug with Media Player and the taskbar thumbnails. As you can see on the image, the window layer where the WMP controls are have an offset to the right and to the down (Bug noticed as soon of 3.8.0, still present in 3.8.9 - Currently using SaB 3.8.9 - Windows 11 23H2, 22631.4169) The theme used is a slightly edited version of Plain8, the only diff is the taskbar texture that have a Windows 7-ish double border.

In that case, I don't know. Installers are old versions, not updated? MS has updated some installers and they require sha2-code. For example, I downloaded (from the old link) Visual Studio 2010/2012/2013/.… and could not install them in Windows -XP/Vista7sp1. In Windows Vista and 7 sp1, they were installed only after the SHA-2Code update. For Windows XP, it was necessary to find older installers.

That's stupid, either have automatic updates or don't update anything at all.

Have you also checked this tip? You know the proof is in the pudding. The scan engine vsapi32.dll in the version 22.610.0.1017 inside the attk_ScanCleanOffline_gui_x86.exe file does not work properly in Trend Micro Sysclean. In my test scan, this engine leads to errors documented in the report.log file. However, the scan engine vsapi32.dll in the version 21.600.0.1007 inside this archive does the trick: http://files.trendmicro.com/products/engine/VSAPI/21600/dll/VSAPI-NT-DLL-21.600-1007.ZIP Please correct this in your post, too! After performing a scan, the report isn't displayed by the tool. You have to open the report.log file manually. All in all, I don't like this tool. It's too old and does not directly show information about the scan process. Furthermore, too less features and only a very few options. But it is indeed able to scan files even today. And the most recent pattern files are still compatible with this old tool.

This was an option of "7+ Taskbar Tweaker" but unfortunately Starllback is no more compatible since version 3.8 and Taihiy don't want to reimplement its functions, so u can stick to 3.7.11 if you want to continue using 7+TT functions. Same for Windhawk from what i tested... I would love to have this implemented and some others 7+TT's funcs as "Middle-click on Taskbar" or "Cycle combined items".

As you surely know, in the software requirements of PCMark04, you can find Windows Media Player listed in the version 9 only. The slightly worse performance with Windows Media Player 11 may well be due to the fact that PCMark04 has not been adapted to this newer WMP version. Apart from that, your measured performance difference is only marginal. I have carried out several tests, and the results were never the same.

It should be mentioned at this point that I do not use uBO Legacy 1.16.4.35 at factory defaults. I use a different set of filter lists than the default one. Furthermore, I use additional lists, own rules and scripts. The initial, default setting is only a basic one and is not YouTube related. And I didn't get a video ad on the second video.

But now that various theories have been put forward about YouTube and overlay pop-ups with warnings to the user, I am happy to put forward my theory, which I will not verify or prove in any way. Google, and therefore YouTube, wants to make money. If users use the service over a long period of time without being a premium customer and yet without getting and watching any adverts, then this will certainly be registered by YouTube and therefore by Google in whatever way. These users must then have been using an adblocker the whole time and will eventually receive this overlay pop-up warning.

You didn't say that in this post. You only talked about a certain number of videos. Now suddenly, it's the duration. Somehow I get the feeling that these are just unsubstantiated theories and nothing more. But YouTube is a crappy interface and no option for browsers on my system. I use YouTube itself only on my Android tablet. Anyway! Opening videos via the legacy extension uTube is much, much, much better than the original YouTube interface. So, I am not interested in investigating the YouTube interface in UXP browsers.

I tried your first playlist in the most recent version of New Moon 28 using the legacy extension uTube and my mod uBlock Origin Legacy with several filter lists enabled. No such overlay popup after playing 8 and more music videos.

Absolutely agree, I sometimes also mix with an older PowerDVD 16 version, newer are simply terrible. Did you notice MPC-HC keeps getting brighter and brighter? And it's not as sharp as it used to be.
