If the people in charge of Telegram, such as the founder and CEO Pavel Durov, tolerate their service being used for serious crimes such as mass murder, illegal arms and drug trafficking, child pornography, formation of organised crime, organised fraud, war mongering, worst propaganda combined with fake news and so on (the list is almost endless) and do nothing about it, then such subjects must be held accountable. And Pavel Durov is still lucky. He was arrested and charged in the EU (France). Conversely, if such a person from the EU were to be arrested and charged in Pavel Durov's original home country, the usual death sentence would not be long in coming.3 points

And they all ended up using the Ancient Greek language. Telegramma consists of two Greek words tele = τῆλε = far, distant and gramma = γράμμα = letter, type. As you put it so aptly, it's all just stolen ...2 points
-
And you were right! The word is stolen from Italian, "Telegramma" (means letter in English), Durov's curators clearly had a very poor imagination and far below average marketing skills. It's frequently the case when one is on state service. Right, why bother? The funding will come anyways.2 points

I think Durov already started talking, it's just we don't see the full picture because of the nature of the investigation, they tell us about 000.1%, and now he needs to avoid drinking russian tea.2 points

"Nooope! MFAA is MSAA where the samples coordinates change each frame. Each frame is independent. MFAA is implemented entirely at the driver level. TXAA uses previous frames as additional sampling points, and because of this it must be implemented by the game engine (in order to correctly retain previous buffers to pull samples from). MFAA at high (e.g. 60FPS) framerates will appear visually similar to higher MSAA levels* due to the human eye performing the temporal interpolation, similar to how interlacing worked in the CRT era. *e.g. for a two-frame sequence of MFAA, 2x CSAA will resemble 4x MSAA, 4x MFAA will resemble 8x MSAA. By using a longer sequence (e.g. 4 different coverage patterns) a greater improvement can be achieved, but will not be as effective without a higher refresh rate (see: MUSE sampling's issues at 60Hz).!" What kind of drawback is it? @feodor2 Any information on that? @feodor2 Actually, this was a feature request. Any opinion on this?1 point

Which player do you use, PowerDVD, by any chance? I remember it blocked DTS-HD on Vista, also MPC-BE did the same! And MPC-HC works fine with DTS-HD MA and all 10-bit accelerations! MPC-BE is pretty much glitchy garbage. https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/15/43436.page1 point

And those? Claims to be "signed". https://retrosystemsrevival.blogspot.com/2020/04/intel-usb-3031-for-windows-vista788110.html1 point

Agree, but then again, you'd need DX11 because to run old games and adopt them to even 2006 era monitors (like 1920x1200) you'd need something like dgVoodooCpl, and those demand DX11. This is the only way to run the XP era legend Sacred Plus 2004 (for example). Checkmate. lol1 point

Fantastic translation! @AstroSkipper is fluent in French! I'm very proud of you, @AstroSkipper. As for the second part, Durov is a French citizen, probably not everyone knows. So he'd br extradited to France anyways, most likely. https://www.lemonde.fr/en/france/article/2023/06/26/the-telegram-founder-s-mysterious-french-passport_6037748_7.html "Pavel Durov, the head of the controversial messaging app, was granted French citizenship in 2021..."1 point

UK isn't in EU for a quite long time. Remember Brexit voting results? A very beneficial (again) result for whom? Right, Russia. As for those extradition threats, I'm not surprised, honestly. GB just behaves like it always did, the Master of our Universe. But are those purely British intentions, aren't they just mimicking the old times? That said, don't forget the amount of money invested in UK by Russia's oligarchs. Are there any British (Western) funded media left? I'm afraid, not. From what I observe, yes I read British newspapers - UK sings Russia's songs. Example, Guardian has a billionaire Russian owner >link<. BBC can be renamed to VOR (Voice Of Russia), the same goes to the German DW. How Russian state funded Telegram is any different? It worked on the international market with only one goal - help Russia destroy the West and make money on those illegalities. I'm sure our Chief Prosecutor knows what she does. France has one of the best Intelligence services, by the way.1 point

The charges against Pavel Durov have been published by the French authorities: What is of interest to Telegram users, I'll translate. - Complicity - Administration of an online platform to allow an illegal transaction in an organised band (gang, as in for organised crime, bandits). - Refusal to communicate, at the request of the authorised authorities, the information or documents necessary. You all are very welcome to seek for better translations. Source: French Security Researcher Baptiste Robert His verified account: https://www.x.com/fs0c131y1 point

Yes. As you can see in the screenshots, the menu bar has already been enabled. The File, Edit etc. menu is located at the top left of the window. The background colour is blue, the font colour is white. That's why it is only difficult to see in my screenshots. I only unchecked the bookmarks bar. In any case, all is working. The CSS code #tabbrowser-tabs { visibility: collapse !important; } only hides the tab bar and nothing else. When you assign to the ID tabbrowser-tabs, which determines the tab bar, a property in CSS, then only this ID will be modified and nothing else. The last two screenshots show how Mypal 68 can be retrofitted to still get access to all open tabs when hiding the tab bar. I removed the CSS code .tabs-newtab-button { display: none !important; } to get back the New Tab button, which is the class tabs-newtab-button in CSS. I then manually moved it to the position shown in the screenshots. BTW, may I remind you what I already wrote: Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

Hiding the tab bar with still full access to all open tabs via a toolbar button in Mypal 681 point
-
Personally, I prefer the tab bar visible to manage tabs and jump to the one I need, just the way it has always been. I only made the CSS code above on request and to show that the corresponding code can be easily created for hiding the complete tab bar, even including the New tab button. For all who need as much free screen as possible while surfing, but do not want to do without tabs completely, there will be soon a modified version of "Make the tab bar invisible in Mypal 68" in the next posts.1 point

I used 360EE up to the beginning of 2023, I liked it, now I'm not satisfied with it at all. Folks on older OS still have options, yes I agree with you, they would need to upgrade the hardware.1 point
-
I'm on older OS only because I love its quality. I tried Win7, it has official drivers for my PC, yet it didn't sound as good as Vista, and why the heck Win7 is brighter? Add. If I need to add brightness, I have my monitor sliders to do the job.1 point
-
We all here agree with everyone, most of the time. I think the reason is - he can't run 122. Perhaps, and most likely, the user is on XP. I always loved how 360 was super fast, let it rest in peace. Thorium is heavier, btw.1 point
-
Yep, but as soon as it again can't render, all gets back to IE. Had it many times in the beginning of 2023, then I moved to another browser completely.1 point
-
Like @Karla Sleutel puts it, any constructive suggestions?1 point
-
Dave, don't know about other versions, in the most popular 1030 it ignores that setting at all. When the browser can't render the site properly, it tries to do it with IE mode, gets stuck.1 point

Hi and welcome! The link by @NojusK works absolutely fine for me. I'm quite sure he visited it himself before posting. Looks like they simply blocked your IP or you try to visit from a very old browser.1 point
