Do not post a link to that website and do not mention the types of things that are on that website. Even mentioning the names will cause those terms to be indexed by search engines and leading to here. So don't do it, use a generic term. I edited some posts to remove the specific terms and replace them with warez.2 points

you don't install anything, they are "portable" but if you have trouble downloading it use these steps: for "nuget" site, on right side there is DOWNLOAD PACKAGE to click on it will give you a .nupkg file to download, open it with your archiver (this is basically .zip file) go to "bin\x64" folder extract all dll files next to a (game) exe file you need to run for "overhack" site go to https://github.com/hejmus/win10verhack/releases/tag/v0.1 and download v0.1-winx64-rel.zip also extract it all to your game exe folder then run as it is described (using cmd) withdll.exe /d:win10verhack64.dll <your_exe.exe>2 points

I installed the TLS1.2 update in Windows Vista and even deactivated older tls versions in internet options, but Microsoft Outlook still tell me to upgrade cause TLS1.0 and TLS1.1 are not supported. Any way to achieve that? I have another question, if I reinstall the system some day, it is possible to keep IE7 instead of upgrading to IE9 and still get the TLS 1.2 stuff?1 point

hi, i'm Davide from a small town in Piedmont (Italy), and nothing more, i like computers, especially vintage ones. for some reasons i like messing around whit them, pushing the hardware and the software to their limits, running thing that were never intended to run on them. to be fair, i like a lot of vintage stuff, from radios, to cars, calculators, printers, scanners, photos... everything. and i don't have much more to add, nice to meet y'all1 point

none of the computers at my house support it due to cpu stuff, so i cant tell if it an upgrade or a downgrade. but just looking at it, it looks like it was designed by apple, so no.1 point

Of course Vir.IT eXplorer (calling by the name) runs on XP ! The Antivirus engine is of their own Italian development (no russkies involved) ! My GF (girlfriend) currently runs it on her cheap/outdated PC (Pentium G with only 8GB of the ancient DDR3 RAM , DDR3 is from 2007). 2 - Very easy on PC resources !The product is VB100 certified. All tests passed: https://www.virusbulletin.com/vb100/testing/tgsoft/vir-it-explorer-pro PS. Sorry to hear you're tired ! Get well soon! The German WinHex has all needed tools for recovery. And which original Western software DMDE's based on ? I'm not that naive to trust they develop something of their own.1 point

This is the greatest thing I have seen, thank you! I hope you sincerely stay that way. And if you miss using legacy Windows versions very much, you have the option to install them via VMs. That's how I still use them.1 point

Not until Boston Legal came along and portrayed a character with Aspergers. The character (Jerry "Hands" Espenson) is played by actor Christian Clemenson. Dan Aykroyd, Daryl Hannah, Anthony Hopkins, and some doctors suggest Andy Warhol also all have Aspergers. Or more recently called Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).1 point

Yes, I had a problem with depression starting in teenage years, but it got better as I grew older. I think youngsters are disappointed and frustrated by the limitations of life; but as you grow older, you realize this is all there really is. Many youngsters with depression also have another underlying condition, e.g. nobody ever heard of Aspergers when I was your age. I think you should spend less time at online forums, forget about legacy versions of Windows, and “get a life” while you’re still young enough to enjoy it!1 point

@AstroSkipper Not necessarily applying to this particular product (Vir.it), but being well known or popular is not always a proxi for anything but being well known or popular, and definitely not for quality or convenience. As an example, take DMDE (which I actually personally recommend[1]) as a program for data recovery, try finding it searching for a data recovery program, you will find that Recuva, Easeus and Wondershare are far more well known and popular, yet they - in the best case (if/when they work at all) - offer a fraction of the capabilities of DMDE. jaclaz [1] but that D.Draker cannot use because the programmer is Russian1 point

Maybe there's a way to spoof the Windows version so you can also install it. But I have a question. Why not use SP2 ? Back when it was first released I noticed that my computer was faster with SP2 than without it.1 point

I didn't "recommend" anything. I only provided - when asked - a link to it: No personal experience with it, all I can say is that it is VB100 certified (whatever relevance this may have) with a grade of D: https://www.virusbulletin.com/vb100/testing/tgsoft/vir-it-explorer-pro https://www.virusbulletin.com/uploads/vb100/test-reports/vb100-test-report-2023-04-21-vir-it-explorer-pro.pdf jaclaz1 point

I am very thankful to see WiseVector StopX as abandoned. I tried this one a few months ago and was hit with at least half a dozen false positives. I do admit that my only method of verifying if a hit was positive or false positive was by using free online scanners and also uploading to my Google Drive account because it scans everything before re-downloading. I wonder if your guide/thread can include recommended/suggested "online scanners"? Not an extensive list, just some sort of "honorable mention" online scanner.1 point

Just a hunch but given the difficulty for many to even upgrade to Windows 11 Microsoft will provide at least a three year ESU extension like they did for Win7. They're making security patches for it well past 2025 anyway so it would be a chance for them to make more money.1 point

Two and half years yet, and hopefully an extension.1 point

Big thanks to @daniel_k for discovering this method. Tools you'll need: A copy of Windows 8 Embedded Standard (MS is gracious enough to provide us with a download link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=37019) 7-Zip to make it easier to copy files from inside the install.wim This tutorial applies to both AMD64 and X86. Download all 3 parts of Standard_8_64Bit_Bootable_IBW if using 64 bit, or all 2 parts if using 32 bits, and open part 1 to extract the ISO. After this you should have Standard_8_64Bit_Bootable_IBW.iso or Standard_8_32Bit_Bootable_IBW.iso Open the ISO with 7-Zip and navigate to "sources/install.wim". Right click on the install.wim and select "Open inside". Inside the install.wim, go to "Windows/servicing/Packages" Here's where it differs for both architectures. For 64 bit copy the following files into a folder in your computer: For 32 bit copy the following files: Next go to "Windows/winsxs/Manifests" and... For 64 bit copy these files into the same folder you extracted the previous ones: For 32 bit copy these files: Now here's the interesting part. Open command prompt with Admin privileges and run: If using 64 bit: dism /online /add-package /packagepath:<path to folder>\Microsoft-Windows-Embedded-SKU-Foundation-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.2.9200.16384.mum If using 32 bit: dism /online /add-package /packagepath:<path to folder>\Microsoft-Windows-Embedded-SKU-Foundation-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~6.2.9200.16384.mum Reboot and install IE11 like you normally would. This time it will finish the installation and prompt you to reboot. After that, IE11 will be fully operational on your machine! Here's some pics of the results:1 point
