  1. I have a portable "installation" of 360EEv11 here, so it's not associated with the ".pdf" file extension, however, when I open a new tab there and drag-n-drop a local PDF file, it does render as expected: Visit "chrome://plugins" and verify BOTH "Chromium PDF Plugin" & "Chromium PDF Viewer" are "enabled" and "Always allowed to run":

  2. And who is to say that your DNS records are safer in the hands of Cloudflare opposed to your own ISP? That's the propaganda I just don't buy into. I just believe, stongly, that if I were that "concerned" with my DNS queries, then I should sell the house and build a gingerbread house in the hills and live off of rain water, gooseberries, tree bark, wind, and solar.

  3. Reminds me of when I was right around 14 years old, I found the hiding place where Santa Clause stored some of our gifts under mom and dad's bed. I found a brand new VCR still in the box. Toted it to my room, opened up the box, grabbed my set of screwdrivers, and I had that thing disassembled into 20-30 pieces within the hour or so it took mom to catch me. She was at a total loss and made me go outside until dad got home from work. Dad gets home and hollers up to the treehouse where I was adding a new level, "Mom says you have something to show me." I climb down and walk him to my room, "I wanted to see how it works." His only reply, "As long as it still works when you put it back together." It did! And not only that, but mom and dad still have it!

  5. because someone else reported in their forum: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=28405 and for obvious reason, he rewrote the commit in his own words (maybe based on my comment but I don't actually know) if the reporter is viewing this thread, I would like to say: please tell MCP to support HEVC, Opus, and FLAC in MPEG4Extractor in libstagefright as well! if applicable, then yes.

  6. Bad news: The private OneDrive on Windows 8.1 today stop syncronizing my files. It appears a message that I have to update Windows but there are no new updates. Is OneDrive not functioning anymore with Windows 8.1 for private users?? As others already said, OneDrive for Business on Windows 8.1 still works.. .

  7. At the end of this page, it has useful instructions on XP, worth a read if interested: http://woshub.com/updating-trusted-root-certificates-in-windows-10/

  8. Oh, well, git version 2.36.1.windows.1 works via supplied terminal application (Git for Windows, there are other ways to get the main thing). At least I could pull, push, commit. I read that Windows 7 support is going away soon due to underlying toolset abandoning it, so if it won't work there, it definitely won't work on Vista. Maybe I tried Git GUI on Windows years ago...or was that actually a plugin for Visual Studio and I never really did use the standalone thing. I certainly don't remember what it looked like...I do remember Visual Studio integration. I started with Git on Linux and the idea of looking for GUI didn't even occur then, due to many small things there and there having to be done in the console on Linux in general anyway. A bit of random off-topic trivia, I know.

  9. ... The "desktop" app does NOT, as it's electron-based... OTOH, I'm not sure about current support status of Git-For-Windows ; I have an old version here, "2.22.0.windows.1", that works OK on Vista SP2 32-bit: CLI version also available (using mintty terminal):

  10. To surf anonymously , to get an IP from another country or to gain access to sites which are restricted in my country I use paid VPN services with no log policy. I try to trust them. And so far I am very happy with that. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  11. TY for that recommendation and I trust it if you do. https://www.softpedia.com/get/Office-tools/PDF/PDF-XChange-Viewer.shtml Here I found the portable version, and yes, works great :

  12. Hi @XPerceniol, I use PDF-XChange Viewer for years and it's working fine in Windows XP. Comparing to Adobe it is lightweight and you have editing function. It can be integrated into browsers by its provided plugin. Have a look here: Cheers, AstroSkipper

  17. @roytam1 Unfortunately I'm not very familiar with the code base, nor am I very talented with anything C. Could you look at the, I think, related bugzilla thread maybe? https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1269171 -- I will spend the time to build and test on Linux, I wish I could be of more use. It's fine if it's too complex to resolve. https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/a640e6fa8ab9 https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/68da139d0866

  19. Just wanted to add: I have started to use V13 build 2206 and it works well, just have to give it (each process) above normal priority and chop everything else because of a slow computer that is way past its prime - so V11 is better but I can see some sites have started to not work correctly but this is expected; of course.

  20. If you take the title of this thread so precisely, then your posts are logically off-topic. But as far as I can see, programs are also posted here that are still Windows XP compatible. But to be on-topic I have found a web site of Tracker Software containing the "latest" versions of their programs PDF-XChange Editor and Editor, PDF-XChange Standard Printer, PDF-Tools and PDF-XChange PRO. All programs are version 7.0.328.2. Version 8 and higher do not support Windows XP anymore. Here is the link: https://www.tracker-software.com/knowledgebase/399-Microsoft-has-Ended-Support-for-Windows-XP. Kind regards, AstroSkipper
