  1. Hi .. I was under the impression that most proxies are compromised, but not sure. The only 1 I still (sort of) trust is https://kproxy.com/ Hope we can find some good ones left.

  2. Yep, we got it figured out. As for your learning curve, I only use five extensions and three of them can fix Digital Spy fonts all by itself. 1) Easiest -- NoScript -- block fonts on gstatic.com 2) Medium difficulty -- Stylus -- unset body font-family 3) Hardest -- Tampermonkey -- replace "libre franklin" font-family with any font of your preference

  3. OK, I've set things up in Stylus, and it works! Thanks very much. The resulting font on Digital Spy looks a bit blurry, but at least things like italics are rendered properly now. All my research indicates that custom.css no longer works in later Chromium versions.

  4. Hello fellow members . As some of you already know , Instagram went totally nuts and tighten up their security lately . The levels are insane . Just a couple of examples from MSFN topics. Members reporting not working videos : https://msfn.org/board/topic/178259-instagram-videos-not-working-in-firefox-52-esr/ From a French member : "all my browsers don't work (get loggin page) after getting this login page in one of my browsers..." "New surprise to me: I get the login page after 3 times reloading page ..." https://msfn.org/board/topic/178259-instagram-videos-not-working-in-firefox-52-esr/?do=findComment&comment=1211117 I am also having the exact same problem , even now , when I had to purchase a "good" VPN . A very funny discovery just came to my attention : Instagram favours IP addresses from some coutries , such as Russia and similar !!! Who would have thought !?!? From my real IP I get the login page after the 3 times of reloading , just like @msfntor, but if I switch to a russian IP - voilà : no more login crap !!! The problem is , this VPN service doesn't have some IPs constantly, so it's not a good solution . And as of now, it got worse, I can't even login from my real IP anymore ! Please help to find clean proxie lists . All well-known VPN solutions do not work . Instagram knows about them , obviously !!! Thank you all ! P.S. A side note , it doesn't have to be super secure , ordinary proxies would do just fine . Instagram already knows about me and my IP.

  5. So with using OpenStreetMap Moscow coordinates, found: 55.6053,37.6589 for this example: https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?whereami=1&query=55.6053%2C37.6589 Then note these coordinates in your "change geolocation" extension - could be that easy? ... Restart page, change your map, then click "where is this?" link... For London: 51.5011,0.0080 : https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?whereami=1&query=51.5011%2C0.0080

  6. Dear @msfntor, I was talking about proxy lists (just a text file) , not about software . I wouldn't use any russian software , but thanks for the warning .

  8. I don't know nothing about proxies.. So watch this explications on Youtube: Russian Proxy - Quick Guide - so attention with Russian proxies! Symantec: Russian criminals sell Web 'proxy' with backdoors Anyone who thought they were downloading Web proxy software was instead installing a Trojan horse tied to a Russian black hat operation.: https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-and-software/symantec-russian-criminals-sell-web-proxy-with-backdoors/ etc. etc. links if you search for "russian proxie lists Russian server"; I've searched with https://private.sh/ or http://www.frogfind.com/ or https://swisscows.com/?culture=en ...then found this free proxy MyIPHide, which has Russian server too: https://myiphide.com/free.html - is't some camouflaged advertising only?..not sure, I'm trying to help you

  9. Your service provider has nothing to do with it . It's instagram not liking your IP because it's French. I got the same problem .

  10. Created a new topic with a possible solution , but need proxies . I wonder if I created in the right place , though. https://msfn.org/board/topic/183282-instagram-communist-coutries-are-in-favour-help-to-get-clean-ranges-of-communist-ips/?do=findComment&comment=1211198

  11. I get the same login crap !!! It's well known that big American(read chinese) corpos are blocking European IPs, big ranges of European IPs , to be precise . I don't know if you saw , but we already had a similar issue with the MS website .

  12. It may just have been pulled from a machine that had a hidden recovery area. Many manufacturers employed this trick of having part of the HDD turned into hidden area unreachable from the OS, where a copy of the original system was placed for full recovery when needed. The BIOS usually provided such recovery option hotkey at the POST screen. I had one such drive too, also 40GB (and may even have been a Maxtor like yours), and found it hard to believe the sticker saying 20GB while the original drive label said 40GB, so I searched the web and found details about the issue along with a free application that could restore the drive to its full capacity. For the life of me I can't remember the exact name of that application but searching for "HDD capacity restore" could provide useful results. It would be a pity to scrap a usable drive for only this reason, or even work with partial capacity when it can be restored to its full glory. A network-capable printer would be more suitable to a multi-computer environment. A few years ago when I still had money I bought a used Lexmark e352dn (printer only, no scanner) and hooked it to a local network hub, so both the XP and the 98SE machines were able to access it. Another advantage, crucial in certain cases, is that the device can be placed at long distance from any of the computers, even in a separate room, while USB and COM/LPT cables usually are limited in length, not to mention one LAN cable versus two means less clutter. Having it connected to a router with Wi-Fi capability would allow access to it from any machine with Wi-Fi capability.

  13. For those that prefer the Tampermonkey route, I no longer use this and prefer to block fonts by default with NoScript then use a "Clean Font Families" Tampermonkey script for the very few fonts that NoScript cannot block because they're not sourced externally. I don't recall where this originally came from and I know I've edited it since then, but this is the script I used to use to replace problematic fonts -

  14. In past versions of Chromium, I used this folder ~/.config/chromium/Default/User StyleSheets/Custom.css the same as {Profile}\Chrome\userContent.css file in Firefox. But I have not personally tried that in 360Chrome.

  15. I guess there's no equivalent in Chromium browsers to the {Profile}\Chrome\userContent.css file in Firefox?

  16. @UCyborg Agreed. It certainly affects v11 more than other versions. Another test site presented very early in the thread is https://off-guardian.org/2021/09/22/30-facts-you-need-to-know-your-covid-cribsheet/ However, most of us (including me) that use v11 as our default-for-everything-browser have extremely valid reasons for using v11 over v13. Font issues that are easily fixable on three web sites out of the three thousand web sites that I have visited so far this year alone isn't going to be even a thumbtack let alone a nail in v11's coffin

  17. Hello there .. Hope all is well. Am using your new build and it seems better. I don't know what you changed but I notice improvement. Thank you very much :) Also: Removed the *ugly* Franklin Gothic fonts. framd and framdit So much better and a little faster on some sites now. Thank you @D.Draker @Dave-H @NotHereToPlayGamesand I needed to clean up my fonts anyway. You should see some of the crappy fonts I'm collected over the years. I can imagine 7 is bad, I've never used it but it doesn't look pleasing by the pictures. Vista looks nice and 8 looks awful to me. 10 Looks nice but I couldn't run that on this rig with this little resources. Wouldn't want to anyway. But glad I read your postings. Sorry I've been absent lately.
