  4. WPIW.net domain is up for renewal in August. I have decided to not renew the domain. This was done for several reasons chiefly: Windows 8&10 killed all joy of working with windows for me. I haven't updated from windows 7 and refuse to. There has been almost zero support and donations from the tech side of my life in a loong time. Nothing for at least a year and well less that a couple hundred for @5years total. WPIW was coming on 14 years in November and had a long, good relatively successful run. My addons were pretty well received but I am not going to sell out and continue with these ventures. I want to thank you all for the good times and the bad and the memories. My email is and will remain as kelsenellenelvian@gmail.com feel free to drop me a line and I will still check in from time to time. May you all fare well. Due to the licenses sold for WPIW I cannot release the continuation of WPIW. However, if someone truly wants to continue this as something else let me know and well see what can be done.

  5. win2k doesn't natively support running multiple monitors on a single GPU unlike XP so vendors hacked in support through their drivers. Have you tried swapping out the new nview.dll (or possibly all other associated dlls) with the old one? I looked through my 258.96 version of nView and found "EnableWin2kDualView" in notepad, but not in IDA so no way of disassembling it and sticking it into a newer version (at least at my extremely low level of ability). This is where I found that API function in a hex editor. Try dropping it in below "NvGetWindowsDisplayState" in your existing nview.dll if the old one doesn't work. I may not be the best at hex but it appears to be 45 6E 61 62 6C 65 57 69 6E 32 6B 44 75 61 6C 56 69 65 77 at memory addresses 10187650 and 10187660 (in this version: later ones may be different). When disassembled it looks like this: .rdata:10187638 aNvgetwindowsdi db 'NvGetWindowsDisplayState',0 .rdata:10187638 ; DATA XREF: sub_10087710+6E↑o .rdata:10187651 align 4 .rdata:10187654 aEnablewin2kdua db 'EnableWin2kDualView',0 .rdata:10187654 ; DATA XREF: sub_10088480+64↑o If all else fails, the only viable solution would be to pair another card with your high-end one (which is natively supported by Windows 2000; it supports up to 9 cards).

  6. A .reg file is a simple .txt file, you can open it in - say - Notepad just fine. All changes go to: The Disable Shim adds values *like*: The Enable Shim deletes the same values *like*: See: http://www.zeda.nl/index.php/en/remove-keys-using-reg-files jaclaz

  7. Sorry to be a police dog here, but I guess Vista and Server 2008 deserves their own topics in Vista board. Good archive needs to be indexed, you know

  8. Looking forward to seeing the updated list. I could swear I saw a list here before somewhere that someone (heinoganda maybe? ) posted that had links for all of the POSReady 2009 updates, but now I can't seem to find it. Did this exist or am I confused? Server 2003 is important because there are and/or may be more useful things in it that might eventually be backportable to XP (replacement USBPORT.SYS to go along with the 64GB RAM patch, and STORPORT.SYS are two good examples). I tend to think of Vista in the same way; it's closer to XP than Windows 7, so maybe there are useful things there. Also in the case of Vista, the fact that it has so few users now makes it even more likely that its updates will really go into the "memory hole." XP's files should survive, and Windows 7 will as well, but Vista is more "endangered." Given our group of Vista diehards here I'm surprised no one seems to have at least some kind of list..

  9. > don't work as expected on the newer compilations Have you tried comparing app process snapshots of each setup? Use something like NirSoft's CProcess.exe to save a list of an app's process modules including version of each file in use.

  10. New Moon only comes in a 7z archive, Mypal comes with an installer. Might also be worth out of curiosity looking over at the SeaMonkey 2.49.5 development because some FF52 Gecko post-EOL patches are there and the x86 versions still support XP/Vista (they are intentionally meant to be supported btw), you could potentially be a really good contributor to SM development in some way or another if ever you wanted to maybe :p
