  1. so the new gdiplus.dll comes with SSE instructions embedded. keep mf3216.dll and replace gdiplus.dll with older version may work.

  2. You can stop Steam automatic-updates by adding this line (-noverifyfiles) to the Steam shortcut. Just remember to do a full backup of your Steam folder on 31. Dec 2018, so you can keep using the last available version on XP/Vista. You can still login and download games.

  3. If you are still using Security Essentials 4.4, you might be experiencing the same elevated CPU usage while browsing that Mathwiz has complained about in the Windows XP forum (evidently the definition updates are getting larger).

  4. Pale Moon v28 just got released and unfortunately it doesn't work on Windows Vista. Well that's it.. the only browster that still worked on Vista is now unsupported as well.. I don't want to give up on Vista though, i hope that it's possible to create a custom version of Pale Moon that works on XP/Vista

  6. Sorry everyone for my absence, with MSFN losing my content and other information; as well as me going on "vacation" a few months ago, It's been difficult to stay in contact and also work on my projects since all my machines and tools were elsewhere... So, when I get back from traveling; which wont be long from now. I plan on finalizing my testing with my Ryzen motherboard; I got it specifically for XP x64, did tons of research before hand and will be doing more regarding personally testing it. This is something I am beyond passionate about; so I will do my best to make XP x64 work on Ryzen one way or another. Also, regarding guides and such pertaining to Intel x99 Sabertooth, AMD Ryzen, & possibly Newer Intel Boards; I will see about creating either video guides or simple step by step ones with screenshots. Either way, I will show everyone EXACTLY how I did it to get Intel x99 Sabertooth to work with XP x64, following my possible success with AMD Ryzen; I will do the same and so forth. Any new information will be posted here only. So, in other words I'd suggest following this post because there may indeed be some MORE useful information in the near future. Thank you for the support; I look forward to sharing my finding VERY soon! Take Care! - XP-x64-Lover

  7. POSReady 2009 was, as the name implies, released in 2009, at that time I did not have a cash machine or cash register system where processors were still installed where no SSE could handle. It must also be seen from the side that needs to be to test the updates kept a corresponding hardware. MS does not have to pay attention to the updates for Windows XP Embedded or POSReady 2009 on hardware before 2009, so it is to be assumed that future updates, which we also use for Windows XP, will cause problems for older hardware. For me a more factual explanation for your problem with KB4343674 on your PIII.

  8. Anyone else looking for a quick javascript-toggle button for Retrozilla2.x? Look here :-) https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/quickjava/ Finally found this one - and it's 100% perfect! All tiny and simple :-) Better get it while it's there yet, Mozilla has announced to delete all XUL-addons this month, guess tens of thousands. Would even grab this one for newer versions too, looks really nifty. Searching for this simple JS-Toggle was quite some hassle. Although there's a bunch of addons for this task, but all others were too young, not available for FF2 yet. And frankly some of the others also look quite bloated. There are probably some more, just not easy to find when not knowing their names. The only pity is, modern versions of this addon have a whole bunch more quicktoggle buttons with very easy configuration, but back in early FF2-times existed only 2 buttons: javascript + java. Am a huge fan of K-Meleons Toolbar with toggles for javascript, images, cookies, stylesheets, iframes, adblock etc., some of those added myself. So one of my biggest pains with non-KM browsers is to find at least for the most basic toggles some addon. But QuickJava looks so easy, and it's only a bit pref toggling after all, some day may try dabbling with the code myself, to try to add more buttons. When getting around...

  9. This is probably because MS various old processors (no SSE / old SSE version) in the updates no longer considered, this was communicated. I have tested Process Tamer (2.14.1.0) and Auslogics Disk Defrag (8.0.13.0) in my VM without problems. My Processor Core 2 Due 2.13 Ghz E6400.

  11. Well considering that we've actually been "living on borrowed time" for over four years now, we haven't done too badly!

  13. > old content disappears, and... Check each browser's Error Console. I think it's a site scripting bug. I recommend scripting be disabled to read, enabled to post. You can also try switching themes.

  14. New build of post-deprecated basilisk/moebius for XP! * Notice: This repo will not be built on regular schedule, and changes are experimental as usual. ** Current moebius patch level should be on par with 52.8, but some security patches can not be applied/ported due to source milestone differences between versions.
