  1. Perhaps if they do decide to actually block XP/Vista in the future, the TLS 1.1/1.2 updates for POSReady 2009 and Server 2008 respectively will keep the iTunes Store accessible from XP and Vista. Anyway, now I'll recreate my Haswell + Vista documentation post since that was lost to the server crashes.

  2. lol. I know that it might sounds weird if you don't live in the UK. You know, when I moved I heard on TV and radio commercials "I'm as happy as Larry" and I had no clue what they meant. One day, I was on my way to work and I was listening to the Mistery Hour on LBC and someone asked Mr. James O' Bryan where did it come from. Someone picked up the phone, called the LBC and said that it originates from a boxer that won many fights and got a very big prize in money. One of the papers wrote "happy as Larry" in the headline and since then it has been used by everyone to express joy. In this case, if the guy from the support didn't troll me and Microsoft is gonna add ECC in the future, installing the update that adds ECC support will eventually make me "as Happy as Larry" when he won the prize. XD @Dave-H is British, I think he can confirm/explain it better

  3. Real portable, it's a palemoon modification from github. The profile folder in the program folder. An installation version is downloaded. https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal/releases Other place of binaries there: win32 It creates a folder with the name of the browser on another partition, it can be any. Installs to this folder. The profile folder will appear only after the first settings You can install other versions of palemon. Each portable will have a profile in the program folder.

  4. I have (WinXP) these hard drive 'trees' for NewMoon and Basilisk Browsers --> C:\Documents and Settings\MyID\Application Data\Moonchild\Basilisk C:\Documents and Settings\MyID\Application Data\Moonchild Productions\Basilisk C:\Documents and Settings\MyID\Application Data\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon Okay, I would like to have installed and use both Basilisk52 (ver) and Basilisk55 (ver) Browsers. Does that present any kind of problem, to have BOTH of them installed (active) ??? Also, there is the MOONCHILD 'tree' and the MOONCHILD PRODUCTIONS 'tree' (see above). Is the MOONCHILD 'tree' left over (not needed) somehow from a previous PALE MOON Browser installation? For me, BK52 Browser seems a bit 'lagging' overall. So, I am wondering if BK55 Browser might work a bit better for me. Even though I realize that BK55 Browser is LESS updated, and ROY recommends BK52 Browser. So, any reply about this, much appreciated. Added: Okay, I have BOTH BK52 and BK55 installed and working here. I am getting a BETTER result using BK55 too. BK52 seems to 'force' HARD DRIVE FILE CACHE access MUCH more than BK55 does. NO IDEA why that might be happening that way. This could be something to do with MY personal settings, is what I mean to suggest it as a possibility. I am just PLEASED that the BK55 Browser is working as well as it is (here anyway). @Jody Thornton <-- Please see what I said above on BK52 vs BK55 Browsers.

  5. From that other link provided you can find blackwingcat's posted IE updates. Click on the Legacy Windows Catalog link to find the year and month. The last one as I recall was in 2014 or 2015 and that is good enough to install the kernelex. You may have to use IE to download anything since I've had trouble with 52esr Firefox. A few days ago there were posts (now apparently deleted) that said there's an even more recent IE update but I don't know where that is and in any case it isn't needed to install kernelex. Update: the last IE6 cumulative patch for W2k was in April of 2013, kb2817183. That can still be downloaded from the link above and should be good enough to install kernelex.

  6. I can't see any difference between doing my banking with XP in 2008 and doing my banking with XP in 2018 except that I'm 10 years older. Also, I never do any kind of russian roulupdates on my computer, I disabled the securshitty center and I still don't have an anti-virus, except on demand scanning. On that 10 years old laptop, the system starts in 50 seconds and use 140 Mb of memory.

  7. If you don't use IME(language bar), you may try un-registering Msimtf.dll and Msctf.dll to make moebius work (Source (chinese)) Run these commands (from Start -> Run, or in cmd window): Regsvr32 /U Msimtf.dll Regsvr32 /U Msctf.dll
