  1. Past hour
  2. See what it looks like if you use the scaling switches I'm using. /high-dpi-support=1 /force-device-scale-factor=1 That fixed a lot of font issues for me.
  3. OT. Last Vista one was probably based on Chrome 85, if I'm not mistaken. XP, most likely from 2016.
  4. Strange, it doesn't mention whether these fixes were applied. https://chromereleases.googleblog.com/2024/04/stable-channel-update-for-desktop_24.html
  5. OT , but which specific version of CatsXP was XP-compatible?
  6. Hmm... are any of these work on XP? CatsXP doesn't even start on Vista without Kernel.
  7. It's a pity, I kinda hoped for a faster Ungoogling process. What exactly was Ungoogled, then?
  8. My XP continues to cut off the left edge of GUI fonts (web rendered fonts are fine). This is true in Supermium, Thorium, CatsXP, Chromium ESR 92, and Chromium ESR 108. In XP only. What can I do to assist in FIXING this - I will not become a GitHub member, so what else can I do to assist in tracking this nuance down?
  9. This is only Windows 7 related. https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/531#issuecomment-2091118136
  10. They say you need to launch from a specially created icon (shortcut), did you do that? https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/531#issue-2275990442
  11. VERY IMPRESSED so far !!! Even in a single-core VirtualBox VM running XP x86 SP3. "Ungoogled" is still not fully ungoogled - there should be no "1 app (Web Store)" in a fully ungoogled variation.
  12. 64 bit: and rax, 0fe000000H 32 bit: and eax, 0fe000000H they did this like that ? the FE is are bits 31-25 ok but rax is a 64 bit registers the entire 32-63 bits would be left out, so they have to be certain that what they are changing here is only 32 bits the same question raise for the rcx move if it contains more then 32 bits the others are skipped the same for the next part , sure it depends what is being done here and what bits are need or not they should know what they are doing
  13. Today
  14. A new public release of Supermium by win32 showed up a few hours ago, still on the M122 Chromium core: https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/releases/tag/v122-r4 As always, read first very well all the associated Release Notes and finer details ... FWIW, take note of: https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/531 that is, if you're gonna use the provided installer to perform an "on-top update" (update a previous Sm installation), better reboot your OS before doing so (registry-entries related issue ...).
  15. Very good news! Analyzing the HDAICIN.TXT's will take some time. If I understand you well, with the second test speakers are always working, also if the headphone is plugged in?
  16. Sorry guys, this is all getting way off-topic again. General security and privacy issues are off-topic here unless they specifically relate to the Thorium browser, and only the Thorium browser. Thank you.
  17. Thank you!! IT WORKED! when I set it to pcipatch §7900 it sprang into life upon bootupwith headphoners and speakers. i also noted that after first reboot on $7900, it garbled mydisplay driver on bootup, but subsequent startups seem fine. I have attached the txt files. Thanks again im so happy its working! Hdaicina.txt Hdaicinb.txt HDAICINC.TXT HDAICIND.TXT
  18. Using BOTH process tamer 2.14 (which comes in the portable zip of the app), together with process lasso (set supermium "always" priority class to below normal) works in my set up to tame processor usage peaks, making supermium quite stable, actually (compared to using either app separately or, needless to say, none of them).
  19. @roytam1 Do you have success with installing your modded english XP SP3 on a 486 cpu? Which version do you use? Do you change anything compared with my files? I am soso curious, can you send me your modded files? Just now I am installing my german xp486.iso direct onto an AMD 133MHZ 486 cpu Dietmar
  20. True that - but I prefer sp52 to pm. My rule is: for work related websites (unless unnecessarily scripted) sp2, for social mypal68. For sites that don't work in those two, supermium, or else tablet or linux mint laptop.
  21. In Argentina, ATMs (POS terminals?) seem to be running XP -judging by the occasional error screens. They surely pay for security updates. I have set up well trimmed, secured XP terminals in some governmental offices in Argentina (and some other places of the world, too) and know they are still running. I'm sure they do not pay for security updates, nor do they need to do so (like we all know).
  22. Sorry, but four letter words only in this chain. Need to change the letter to create a different word.
  23. Sometimes when I'm trying to keep my dark passenger from presenting, I watch weird stuff, like the end of Secretariat. Something about that horse just lifts my spirits. To dig deep and find something inside, to pull off the seemingly impossible.
  24. Installed Windows 95 OSR2.1 Installed Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 It works in English It doesn't work in Italian Thanks
