Pistolero Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I dont have any issue with iso ngine on any previous nLite versions, i just use windows CD and dont add hot fixes, just SPs.So im sure the ISO ngine works perfect!Ill test RC2 at 11:47 PM JAN 16, 07 :Tested! at 01:27 AM JAN 17, 07My only complain is:it keeps the WORKGROUP default name instead i set AMD.i hope you could fix that!Close to 1.3 Final Thanks!!!I was so worried that the ISO ngine was not working perfect for you! I couldn't even sleep! I am sure it is that magic slipstreaming of SP1 and then SP2 on top of it that keeps your CDs regular, like a good dose of fiber.I keed, I keed.
dude_k Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 It appears that 1.3RC2 has some broken tweaks. The only one I can positively say right now is that the Remove Windows Catalog shortcut isn't working.Last Session.ini[Main]Env = 1.3 RC 2 - 2.0.50727.42.Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2Target = Windows XP Professional SP:2 - 5.1.2600.2180 - English (United States)[Tasks]Remove ComponentsUnattended SetupIntegrate DriversTweaksOptions[Components];# Compatibility #Compat02[KeepFiles]msconfig.exe[RemoveFiles]clock.aviyahoo.bmpswtchbrd.bmp[Options]ClassicSetupProfilesDir = "%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings"TargetPath = "WINDOWS"temp_dir = %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\TempAdvTweaks[Patches]TcpIp = 256[services2]RSVP,4[Tweaks]Boot and Shutdown-Auto-End tasks immediatelyBoot and Shutdown-Auto-Kill hung applications immediatelyBoot and Shutdown-Auto-Kill hung services immediatelyBoot and Shutdown-Disable logging on System FailureBoot and Shutdown-Logon Page-ClassicBoot and Shutdown-Numlock-OnExplorer-Advanced Search: preconfigure optionsExplorer-Change Explorer Folder View to: detailsExplorer-Classic Control PanelExplorer-Disable AutorunExplorer-Disable Beep on errorsExplorer-Disable Prefix: Shortcut toExplorer-Display the contents of system foldersExplorer-Launch folder windows in a seperate processExplorer-Recycle Bin: allow to rename and deleteExplorer-Remove Send To on context menuExplorer-Show extensions of known file-typesExplorer-Show hidden files and foldersExplorer-Show protected operating system filesExplorer-Show the full path in the Address BarExplorer-Show the full path in the Title BarInternet Explorer-Disable Download Complete notificationInternet Explorer-Disable Internet Explorer link creationInternet Explorer-Disable Media Player 6.4 created bookmarksInternet Explorer-Disable Outlook Express link creationInternet Explorer-Keep IE URL-History for-1 DayInternet Explorer-Set Homepage-www.google.comInternet Explorer-Set IE-Cache limit to-20 MBInternet Explorer-Set Internet Explorer to accept 10 connects at a timeMy Computer-Remove Search from Context MenuMy Computer-Remove Shared DocumentsNetwork-Allow receiving Remote Assistance-DisableNetwork-Disable administrative sharesNetwork-Disable automatic search for network folders and printersNetwork-Disable DCOM protocol bindingsNetwork-Disable DNS failure cacheNetwork-Disable extra SMB notify-change trafficNetwork-Disable LAN-Manager from caching passwordsNetwork-Disable LM HOSTS lookupNetwork-Disable Microsoft-DS (close port 445 TCP/UDP)Network-Disable restoring mapped network drives on logonNetwork-Disable Simple File SharingNetwork-Hide PC in Workgroups/DomainsNetwork-Remote Desktop-DisableNetwork-Remove remote-computer NameSpacePerformance-Disable Info Tips on Files and FoldersPerformance-Disable Last accessed Timestamp on filesPerformance-Disable Optimize harddisk when idlePerformance-Disable Tracking of Broken Shortcut LinksPerformance-Disable Warn on low disk spacePerformance-Disable WBEM loggingPerformance-Do not cache thumbnailsPerformance-Enable USB Idle Endpoint supportPerformance-Speed-up Access to AVI Media FilesPerformance-Use Windows classic folders / No Tasks SidepanelPrivacy-Disable Error ReportingPrivacy-Disable File MRU-ListPrivacy-Disable Tracking of most used programsPrivacy-Remove AlexaSecurity-Always show Updates under SoftwareSecurity-Disable DCOMSecurity-Disable Web Open With promptSecurity-Screensaver Password-Protection-EnabledStart Menu-Disable Highlight newly installed programsStart Menu-Disable popup on first bootStart Menu-Do not use Personalized MenusStart Menu-Reduce popup delayStart Menu-Remove Pinned Apps List from Start PanelStart Menu-Remove Search For People from SearchStart Menu-Remove Search the Internet from SearchStart Menu-Remove User nameStart Menu-Remove Windows Catalog shortcutStart Menu-Scroll ProgramsTaskbar-Disable Balloon TipsTaskbar-Disable Group similar Taskbar buttonsTaskbar-Disable Language-BarTaskbar-Lock the Taskbar-NoVisual Effects-Cursor shadow-DisableVisual Effects-Show window contents while dragging-DisableVisual Effects-Smooth edges of screen fonts-StandardVisual Effects-Smooth-scroll list boxes-EnableWindows Media Player-Accept Privacy StatementWindows Media Player-Disable auto-add music to libraryWindows Media Player-Disable MRUWindows Media Player-Disable silent acqusitionWindows Media Player-Enhanced privacy settings
Maxfutur Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 (edited) There is no point in integrating SP1 if you're integrating SP2....you're wasting your time doing so...tap52384 is correct. SP2 is a cumulative update and includes all fixes/updates from SP1 so all you're doing is wasting your time and maybe further cluttering up your source.I was so worried that the ISO ngine was not working perfect for you! I couldn't even sleep! I am sure it is that magic slipstreaming of SP1 and then SP2 on top of it that keeps your CDs regular, like a good dose of fiber.I keed, I keed.Hey pistolero!my english is soo poor...what that word means? (keed)are you sleepin now?i was wonderin if im going crazy but now, im sure im not! : nliting windows on my way works! guys? try to do it my way! Edited January 18, 2007 by Maxfutur
Suerte!
RaGhul Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 (edited) Thx, nuhi!!I'm gonna use this tonight! Soothsayer Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Hi Nuhi,Thank you for a great program, this saves me a lot of time whenever I rebuild my PC.I would like to make a small change request please. It is possible to add back the tweak to change the 'common' directory (within programs)? This used to be available and from what I can tell by looking at my logs, I think it was removed between 1.0RC6 and 1.0RC7.Many Thanks.
TheTripleX Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 If I remove the Indexing service shouldn't the "Allow Indexing Service bla bla bla" box in driver properties be unticked? If I don't have it why is it still ticked? Should be unticked since I have nothing to index.
trazden1 Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 (edited) Hi,Im geting some errors in my setuperr.txtMy session.ini is attachedI allso get the same errors in win xp pro 32bit..Warning:Setup was unable to start service Spooler because of the following error:StartService(Spooler) returned error 3 (3).***Error:An error occurred during the final phase of Setup.***Anyone have an idea what it is? LeveL Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Just a quick question...Does nLite know which OS you're using (2000, XP, 2003)? What I mean is,I loaded up Server 2003 and indeed, theres a tweak to remove the "Manageyour server" shortcut... which does not appear in XP... so I can only guess thatnLite changes accordingly depending on what OS you're using?Nuhi deserves some sort of award for nLite! People have argued for years about how with Linux its all in modulesbut you have to put up with XP as one big lump of an OS... Nuhi haschanged all that though, he has done what Microsoft were NEVER goingto do for us in a million years and yet Nuhi does this for FREE. Swear togod if I could donate anything I would do... I always feel bad for notdonating, but I can't at the moment.
jmbattle Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Why not? You're British, so it is safe to assume you spend a fair amount of your disposable income in the pub.Why not forgo a night consuming alcohol and send nuhi whatever money you save.Take care,Jamesx
bledd Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 thats what i did when i got ill and couldn't go out, i send nuhi some €'s
datarelm Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Why not add an option to slipstream directx 9.0c into 2000 or xpSP1a?
r3incarnat0r Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 (edited) one thing I've noticed in nlite for a while is "extra" components appear after removing some the first time. Most obvious with Keyboards & Languages. For example even though I checked the box to remove all for both, if I reopen nlite and do component removal again I can continue to remove these new components:;# Keyboards #Bosnian Cyrillic keyboardInuktitut Latin keyboardLuxembourgish keyboardNepali keyboardPashto keyboard;# Languages #;ArabicPashto;CyrillicBosnian_Cyrillic;IndicNepali (Nepal);Western Europe and United StatesFilipinoFrisianInuktitut (Latin)IrishLuxembourgishMapudungunMohawkRomanshIt happens when you integrate KB897338-v3 hotfix or UpdatePack which contains it. This hotfix adds some new keyboards/languages, so it's logical with regard to nLite's tasks order:nLite loads items list from existing i386\intl.infuser selects items to removenLite replaces the old intl.inf with the new one + adds/updates filesnLite removes items from the new intl.inf based on the old list (=> new items remains)I think that possible solution is to replace the old file with the new one before the nLite start, so all items can be shown and removed in one pass. KRYOGENIUS Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 HelloNice software, very useful etcSo, i suggest those functions- Take in consideration the $OEM$ Folder Structure or unattend files already in i386 folder (winnt.sif), for people who have already made an unattend CD.=> For example, for the mass storage drivers (SATA), i integrate them manually (i prefer !), so after to integrate hotfixes, i use nlite. => But nlite when i checked "Automatisation" tell me that the existant parameters will be lost. - Possibilty to add backup function for activation of XP (OEM) and WGA, because manually restoration, even not changing the pc ! doesn't work => For legally licence of course !I hope i was comprehensible for the first point !Thanks
Zardoc Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Hi all, will this version work with net framework 3.0??Thanks,
