Spyvie Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 gpartedAnother vote for GParted...Live CD ISO linkage goodness
bonestonne Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 swissknife is good, but only for slave drives. it doesn't let you mess with your master drive with any OS data on it. designed with the n00b in mind
jaclaz Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 (edited) it doesn't let you mess with your master drive with any OS data on it. designed with the n00b in mindWell, I would call it "common sense" or "better safe than sorry", if you use it from a BartPE, AS YOU SHOULD, there are no such limits.Running any partition related program on the drive you booted from is often asking for trouble.http://www.compuapps.com/download/Swissknife/swissknife.htmSwissKnife plugin for BARTPE Download the file that contains 'SwissKnife plug-in for BART PE'. The zip file contains instructions on how to add SwissKnife Plug-in and other files to BART PE. This version has the safety lock removed which prevents to create or delete partition on the drive OS is installed.CAUTION: SwissKnife plug-in will instantly remove partitions from any disk drive, use it SAFELY.jaclaz Edited September 20, 2006 by jaclaz
glentium Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 In the league of GParted and PartitionLogic is QTParted. Its packaged with SystemRescueCD, which also has PartImage, a partition imaging/backup/restore program. I'm a happy user of it.
kartel Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 (edited) Depending on what os you have, there is one built in.I like putting partition magic on a bootable disk. You can get the free trial and copy the files you need to the disk. Edited September 26, 2006 by kartel
