LLXX
The ports that it requires may be closed by your ISP.
iWindoze
i have a problem here, my net's been down for about a month and when it came back kazaa no longer connected itself, i have no firewall and windows xp firewall is off, what could the problem be?Like the other guys said its probably the ports you were used to have beenturned off by your ISP...then again you might want to check your machine ifyou've been running without any kind of Firewall at ALL and see if the issuemight be a virus or piece of spyware. Have you purchased\used any SONYcds in your computer lately? And last but not least try checking in your options or preferences to see ifthere is an option to 'randomize' the port you're using in kazaa. Or maybe tryusing an alternative like Shareazza or Gnucleus instead of spyware ridden trashlike kazaa...I haven't used the program since they shutdown k-lite which wasIMHO the only good version of the program.Good luck and happy file shares!--iWindoze
Jeremy
Isn't Kazaa dead? I would expect nothing but fake files and virus-infested archives from that p2p. Torrents are taking over. Oh and friends' FTPs.
slimzky
Kazaa is Dead. Limewire is my new Friend..
phkninja
limewire is alos supposed to die. As the amaericans get more into "xatching the software pirates" more and more p2p programs are shutting down their servers in an attempt to miss the court cases. Ideas Man
I'd say you're treading a very fine line continuing to use it, it's crap anyway. Most of the files are fakes anyway, so it really has no major uses anymore.
Technoguy
i think ur ISP has blocked kazaa's ports.Kaaalite is still workin but due 2 MPAA and RIAA most p2p's have gone down. Offtopic:Happy New Year to all of U.
ColdFusion200
use a different clientemule is good but can be slowares is good and fast but files are limited sometimes
Mocht4R
Try reinstalling kazaa first, and if you love kazaa and won't change to another file sharing software, try kazaa lite. If this doesn't work (reinstalling) then go with limewire, ares, napster, or forget all these and go with torrents.
Jeremy
Torrents now dominate something like 50% of p2p today. All the other "connect to the network/server" type things are dead or dying. BitComet / uTorrent / Azureus are the top 3 preferred BitTorrent clients from what I've read/heard.
Mocht4R
I prefer bit tornado. Its much more easier to use.
Jeremy
I tried that before, didn't like it so much. I don't know how much easier than BitComet/uTorrent it can get, really...
tha_demon2004
µtorrent got it's popularity due to being so small and fact it doesn't need to be installed. It maxed out my upload which is good but doesn't download as quick as bittornado. With bittornado i found that if i let it go on auto it would eventually stop uploading and download the files at my max download
