matrix0978 Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 Ok heres a math problem i need help on. I need to simplifiy or solve it.... x cubed/x squared are the first two.... (x3 +x2 +x + 4)??
gamehead200 Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 x(x2+x+1) + 4??There's nothing to solve... Its not an equation, its an expression. You can only simplify it.
sven Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 if i only had my ti-89 right now...in what math section is this in? factoring?
matrix0978 Posted January 27, 2005 Author Posted January 27, 2005 I dont know its something for my sister.
un4given1 Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 Give this a try http://www.webmath.com/anything.htmlAccording to what you said (x^3+x^2+x+4), right? It can't be simplified.
matrix0978 Posted January 27, 2005 Author Posted January 27, 2005 Ok i dont even know... I mean its something for my sister which is in college lol...
sven Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 ahhh lol. well, if you dont need it for tomorrow, i could put it into my "beast" calculator and see what answer i getthat site gives no answer proof
Jeremy Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 I write my Math 12 Provincial exam tomorrow. Please let me pass Math....please let me pass Math....
phoenix_nf Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 16 - 36 = 25 - 4516 - 36 + (81/4) = 25 - 45 + (81/4)(4^2) - 2 * 4 * (9/2) + [(9/2)^2] = (5^2) - 2 * 5 * (9/2) + [(9/2)^2] [4 - (9/2)]^2 = [5 - (9/2)]^2taking sq. roots on both sides.4 - (9/2) = 5 - (9/2)Adding (9/2) on both sides we get:4 = 5 (find the error)
phoenix_nf Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 You can do a similar thing using the equation:4 - 10 = 9 - 15and add (25/4) to both sides.you will get 4 = 5i.e 2 + 2 = 5 (I know its wrong as there IS an error in the equation)
XtremeMaC Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 (x3 +x2 +x + 4)if we set it equal to 0 u'd get an answer of -1.74295 other roots are imaginary..@phoenix_nf erm am i missing a post here or something? where did u get those numbers and eequations???
matrix0978 Posted January 27, 2005 Author Posted January 27, 2005 haha yeah that was pretty random phoenix. but yeah.Xtreme MaC it cant be solved for an asnwer... it can only be simplified...
phoenix_nf Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 yeah XtremeMaC check out page one of this thread (or the post before this post) then you'll get the complete picture.
XtremeMaC Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 i only seem to see 2 links and they're not thatanyways if it cannot be solved then its like this:(x2 + 1)(x+1) + 3 or(x2 + 4)(x+1) - 3x or something like that...
